Let me be perfectly clear. The Excellent Ratings I have provided refer to the techs who come out to control the pests DEFINITELY NOT the company. We have been with Terminix since we moved to Albuquerque in the summer of 2016. The techs who visited us were professional in their work and we have nothing but good things to say about them. However, the same cannot be said for this company's administration. Customer service is not only poor it is virtually non-existent. They make it impossible for customers to speak to anyone in the local office and emails are ignored. I have tried to make contact regarding billing issues for about 2 years; it would be easier to get blood out of a stone. Would I recommend Terminix? The strength of a company lies within its structure and its ability to deal with customers. As I wrote earlier, the employees who come out to deal with the pests are great. The office staff? Well, I'll try and stay polite so will just say this: I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY because they have no interest in keeping customers happy or even keeping customers. It costs more to obtain new customers than it costs to retain existing ones. And the ones that leave, as we will be doing after nearly 5 years, will be spreading the word that Terminix is not a trustworthy company with which to do business. UPDATE: The manager of the local branch (Albuquerque) wrote to us a couple of months or so ago with an offer to reduce our charges. The reductions seemed reasonable but we wanted more information before agreeing. However, despite sending them more emails and calling them on the phone, we never heard from Terminix again. I should also mention that they have money of ours which should have been used towards a service which never happened: we have still to see the return of that money. I believe it is called theft. Beware of this company. You have been warned.

On June 28, 2019 a young man came to my door with Terminix. He stated that they were in the neighborhood and signing people up and if I would be interested. He had no papers or brochures only a tablet that he used to show me what bugs they kill. We talked and one question I specifically asked was if there was a contract because I don't do contracts. He stated that there was no contract and that I could cancel at any time. He said it was 80 each time they came out and that they come out every 2 months. So I agreed for them to come out the following weekend on Saturday July 6th and signed his tablet. The next day (June 29, 2019) the young man came back and said that they over booked the next weekend and would give me a 30 dollar credit on my bill if I would be willing to change it to tomorrow (Sunday June 30th). So I agreed to that. So they came out and sprayed. On 07/03/19 I was charged the full 80 plus tax (total 86.30) so I called the 800 number listed on CC charge and they said they would take it off the next service. I said okay. When they came out the second time it was on August 2. Which by my calculations is 33 days. Which is only one month I expected them to show up at the end of August like they did at the end of June. Making it roughly 2 months. So I called once again and was told well it is the second month technically because we came in June and now in August. So I said fine whatever. And decided before they try to screw me again I’m just going to cancel the service. So Come October I tell myself I better cancel before the show up. So I called the 800 number and canceled with no problems. They lady on the phone was nice but mentioned nothing about a cancellation fee. So I thought that was the end of this headache. Oh no… I get a voicemail from a guy saying I’m better off paying 80 dollars a few more times because there is a 99 dollar cancellation fee. I was shocked! So I called the 800 number again and filed a complaint. Now I received a voicemail from a Tiffany that clearly didn’t read or understand said complaint or the phone number to best reach me at that I left in said complaint. When I stated that their representative that came to my door apparently LIED and told me that there was no contract! So I will be calling back on Monday and see when this drama will end.

Discovered a mouse infestation in our house. Called Terminix. Got an operator who said to wait 48 hours for a response (!) before calling again. That should have been the first warning. Waited the required time and called again. This operator literally counted the hours to make sure I was bona fide. Explained that this was the second call - she said she would be sure that the regional (or was it local) manager would be notified. I am still waiting for a response. REAL bush league. I expected better from our neighbors experience.

Terminix promptly setup the initial consultation appointment for 5/27/17. Mr. Beck, apparently the branch manager, was very professional in making his assessment and recommendations at the consultation appointment and promptly provided a quote after the appointment. Within two days of receiving that quote I attempted to contact Terminix, via phone and email, to schedule the service and received no response. I tried to reach them several more times, receiving no response. I even called the national Terminix number and they indicated that they left Mr. Beck a priority message. There was still no response. I was left with the feeling that because I did not want to sign up for an expensive, long-term, service agreement, my business was not important enough to warrant the courtesy of a return call.

It was pretty good but we found that we had very little problems with any kinds of pests up here so it really didn't turned out to be that necessary that's why we just stopped.

We agreed on the work to be done and the price to be paid. That is a contract. At the first appointment a nice young man showed up totally unequipped and ignorant of the scope of the job. He left and I never heard another word. No call, no e-mail, no nothing. When I called the main office to find out what was going on I was informed that I had an appointment the next week. I don't know who made that appointment. I didn't. The appointment came around. No show. No communication. I called the main office again and was told that I had yet another appointment for the following week. Again no show and no communication. Terminix's treatment of me was nothing short of shameful. What more can I say?

The service tech was friendly, worked on the exterior and interior. He explained where the problems were and they were sprayed effectively. We were advised that we may see some activity of the bugs escaping the spray, but not to worry...they will no longer be uninvited guests.

Terminex came in June to perform the quarterly service we pay for. They were on time and did the spraying and filled the rodent bait boxes. When rat activity increased about 3 weeks later, we saw that all seven bait boxes were empty. According to our contract we can call for a follow up whenever there is a problem after the regularly scheduled visit so we did. We had to wait a week and the technician showed up on time. I met him outside at his truck and his greeting was,"It's very hard for me to get out here" in a very mean tone and annoyed attitude. I said that I was sorry but the bait boxes are empty and we have a problem. He said, "How do you know they are empty". I said because we looked and we have a problem with the rodents. He said (even more rudely than he had been thus far), "There is no way for you to tell if they are empty." I simply told him that I know they are empty and I just showed them to him. Each one was empty. He continued in his rude and brash attitude. He came upon one bait box that had a broken spike in it. He asked me if I had a key to the boxes and I said no (since we don't). I asked him what he was going to do to remedy it and he said nothing - that he just couldn't put the rat bait in it correctly. I assumed he would take the box and replace it with another one since it was not my problem but his. Nope - he just said he wasn't going to do anything about it. I have never experienced such a rude person at Terminex. Interestingly, I asked him what his name is and after that he started to treat me at least with a slightly more civil tone. I am going to continue to use them because they have over the last ten years acceptable, so I will give them one more chance. It may be that this person was having a bad day. In the meantime, I will be looking for another service.

It is hard to get them to schedule a time when I am actually home when they do, typically, the front of my house, which I find obnoxious because it seems really expensive to do just the front yard when I have things in the front yard and stuff I want them to do in the house, but they don't reschedule when I am actually home. They seem expensive. I will use them until I get somebody else.

I have had multiple problems with changing appointments, showing up at times that weren't scheduled so that my gates were locked and they couldn't even access the property (but charged for a full treatment anyway). When it happened again that I sat and waited for them only to find out someone on their end changed the appointment without notifying me, I said enough. Canceled my quarterly service. Most of the technicians were good (except the one who "treated" my entire perimeter and was on site maybe 7 minutes - no way I got what I paid for with that service call). I am tired of being yanked around by their scheduling and charged for treatment that wasn't done well because they came when they shouldn't have or, today, didn't come when I was waiting for them. Once is frustrating, but this is a repeat occurrence.

My 79 yr old mother had called to schedule service for both our residences. I did not want Terminix to do the service so I called and cancelled for both. To my astonishment I received a bill for $143+ for said service - not even being notified when they had showed up to treat. When I called to tell them the order had been cancelled they had no record. I disputed the charges since 1) we had only requested outside 2) the backyards were locked and not accessible. In my Mother's backyard are two tuff sheds, greenhouse and large detached garage - which were not treated. I called Terminix and was told they would take care of this. We then received a second invoice. So I called again and was told that someone would call me back within 48 hours. Never happened. But I did get another invoice. So I called again and was told I was responsible for the charge. I ended up paying because I did not want the bill to go to collections and affect my credit. Very disappointed.

Appointment made between 8-10a. They didn't show. I called them closer to 10. They said the appt was for 10 and they still didn't show. I missed my grandson's soccer game. I called after lunch and was promised to have manager or technician come to my home that afternoon. They did not show and did not give me the courtesy of a phone call. They attempted to reschedule me for Tuesday but I told them to forget the whole thing and cancelled the subscription.

Terminix arrived on time and was supposed to only spray the outside of our home. Ryan was our technician. I asked him if he could come inside and look at some bugs I had been seeing. He did, and was SO NICE. He explained what they were (small beetles) and he asked if it would be okay for him to spray inside as well as outside. I was thrilled! He took his time and looked around and then began spraying. Terminix has always been great. They LISTEN and are not in a rush to leave. I highly recommend this company! I used another company before changing to Terminix, and TRUST ME when I say there is NO comparison!

I complained to the owner of the ABQ office, to the district manager and to corporate and got my money back. Don't do business with these scammers.
Description of Work: Terminix put green termite catchers around my yard and then was supposed to come monthly to check them for termites. I caught them lying and watched as the truck driver just sat in front of my house for 15 minutes in his truck, then drove away. I called his boss and complained and he came out to my house and checked the green termite locations and told me that they had not been checked in 4 months.

Normally I would take the time to write a very detailed review; but I have already spent a ridiculous amount of time in contacting this company via phone call after phone call after phone call, as well as via e-mail, in order to correct billing errors and to cancel the service. I will submit more details if I have time. For now I will write this like an expanded tweet -- speaking of which, THAT (my tweet on Twitter) has been ignored by them too. I signed up for a twitter account for the express purpose of trying to contact Terminix to resolve these problems, all to no avail. In summary: Billing errors that were supposedly corrected months ago, but which it turns out were not fixed correctly, leaving an incorrect balance on the account (I pay in advance for each year of service). Technicians showing up when they are not supposed to; Services being billed that were not performed; Being told by representatives who are not at our local office to wait for a phone call from the manager of our local Terminix, which NEVER comes; Being given the RUNAROUND in PHONE CALL after PHONE CALL after PHONE CALL with this company (most with people in other cities, some with the woman at the front desk of our local office, who will not transfer me to the local manager)... Having to deal with a phone system that connects your call to any available Terminix office throughout the country, rather than being connected consistently with your local office when you call... During all of which I am made to repeat the same details OVER and OVER and OVER again to each new person I speak with...or for that matter even over again to the same person at times, for example in having to re-explain the details even if the phone system happens to route my call to my local office (which sometimes occurs if I call in the morning)... and having to repeat the details over again even if the call is transferred from one person to another during the course of a single phone call during those rare times when someone at another office is actually willing to connect me to a national customer service representative who is not at at the front desk of someone's local Terminix office... To explain the phone system will require a few more details: It is a very strange phone system!!!! They do not use a call center. Calls are picked up by any random "local" Terminix office around the country -- i.e., each office is somebody's local office. Whether you dial your local number or an 800 number, the phone is answered by whomever is available around the country to answer it. If someone from another office leaves a message for your local office on your behalf, the details are either never correctly conveyed or are never properly understood by the local office. And vice versa. If you manage to get a hold of your local office and want notes typed in your file regarding any issue you have called about, so that the next person around the country who happens to answer the phone when you call will understand what has transpired to date so that you won't have to repeat all the details over again, it is all to no avail: Notes are typed, but no one ever understands anyone else's typed notes, nor does the technician ever receive the proper message as to why you have called -- i.e., as to what the particular problem is that you are calling about. It reminds me of the game "Telephone" that I used to play as a kid, except that this is NOT FUN!!! In addition to that, there is a national customer service office that is not anybody's local office; but not everyone who picks up the phone will transfer you there. You are at the mercy of whomever happens to pick up the phone because certain people wish to handle your phone call themselves regardless of whether or not you wish to speak with someone at a higher level (national), or regardless of whether you wish to speak with your local manager. This occurs with my local office as well. I have only been able to speak with the manager there on one occasion in the entire 3 or 4 years that we have been doing business with this company here, and it was back when someone else worked at the front desk at my local office. I have not been able to speak with a manager since. In addition, the Terminix computer system has a mind of its own. Appointments are scheduled in advance for you, and if you try to change them, the technicians just show up when they are not supposed to because they never receive the message that you have called to reschedule. They also never receive the correct message as to what the problem is that you are trying to treat. Because of this, it becomes necessary for me to be home when the technician arrives (even though I only want the exterior of our home treated) so that I can explain any details to him that need to be explained. Their e-mail system is completely worthless also. AT WITS END!!!!! At this point I want to cancel the service, but there does not seem to be a way for me to do this. I am told that I must speak with the manager of my local office, but that is an impossibility. The manager will not call, and there is no way for me to contact him. I do not want them to treat our house again, and I need the accounting errors corrected: Two errors: The error to the actual account balance that was made earlier in the year that was supposedly corrected back in July; And the error regarding the fact that we have been charged for a service approximately two weeks ago that was not performed. These need to be corrected so that we can receive a refund -- and so that the proper amount will be refunded to us. In addition I have read numerous online complaints of this company continuing to treat the exterior of a home and continuing to bill the customer even after the customer has moved from the residence. Our house is on the market. I need this corrected now. I do not want the house treated again while we are still living here, and I most certainly do not want the house treated after we move out! I am afraid that Terminix will show up in November to spray the exterior of the house, even if we have sold our house. I need this contract terminated (no pun intended) immediately! Our contract ends with the current quarter -- which ends in October; but Terminix's policies and their continued confusion will most likely cause them to send a technician here for the next quarter of service which would be due to begin in November, even if a new contract has not been initiated by us. They have in fact already scheduled the November service, even though our current contract ends with the quarter ending in October. I know from experience that I will not be able to cancel that appointment, and that a technician will arrive on the date that their computer has set up, and that we will be billed for the service! Even if we wind up being able to receive a refund from Terminix, I am convinced that the technician will show up in November and will treat the house. And I am certain that we will be billed for the service whether he actually sprays or not, and whether we are still living here or not. If we are still living here and are home when he arrives so that we can send him away before he sprays, I am certain that we will still be billed for the service. And if we sell the house before November and the next resident is home when he arrives and sends him away and he does not spray, I am certain that we will still be billed for the service. And if the next resident is not home to send him away without spraying, we will be billed for the service.... I do not see a way out of this and do not know where to turn to prevent this from happening. Our regular technician would not have allowed us to be charge for a service that was not performed, but he is not the one who showed up two weeks ago. And you never know from treatment to treatment who will show up at your doorstep to spray. I will never use this company again. NOT WORTH THE HASSLE!!! Even writing this review in this "abbreviated manner", rather than in full sentence form in which I would have fully explained every single detail, took an EXORBITANT amount of my time! I wish I had time to explain in full detail every single thing that has occurred over the past several weeks. But I do not want to spend a single second more of my time in regard to Terminix. They have already taken much too much of my time.
Description of Work: pesticide treatment, exterior of home This form will not allow me to leave the "Approximately how much did you spend" field blank, so I had to very roughly estimate. I do not have the exact figures in front of me because our house is on the market right now, and so our back files are in storage. We have used the services of Terminix for the past several years in a row -- 3 years? 4 years? I don't remember the exact starting date. And the exact amount that we spent overall is not relevant to my particular review, which concerns customer service issues as well as billing issues that are not specific to the amount per se that we spent -- i.e,. the accounting errors are frustrating from a customer service perspective. In other words, the problem is not what we were charged or not charged for, but rather the manner in which customer complaints are handled or mishandled or ignored. Terminix gives you the RUNAROUND!!!!!!! I realize that this form really was asking for the amount charged per service, not the total amount paid to the company, but I am unable to provide that amount because of confusion on the part of Terminix regarding the billing. If I were to fill in the amount that we were actually billed for the "service" (non service) on that date, it would not make sense for anyone reading this unless I were to fully explain the billing issues, and I don't have time to fully explain the details here. And the amount itself is irrelevant in regard to the nature of my complaints. I also had to enter a service date because it would not allow me to leave that field blank. But the service was not actually performed. We were charged for it though.

We lived in several different cities and we have always used Terminix. They are prompt and all very courteous. I have the confidence that if I have any problems they would come and I don’t have to pay anything extra for the services. They are very prompt and very responsive about coming out. They are effective. To me they seem to be a little expensive compared to other places but I have been so happy with them that I haven’t done anything about that.
