South Jersey Weed Control

They cashed my check in April, but did not perform any services. After multiple voice mails and emails, I was indirectly called a liar by the receptionist Ally. I was told that they do not have time to follow up with their customers. I was told that I never left voice mails. When they finally came out in AUGUST (yes, the end of the season) to spray for the first time, I didn't even know it. That's how ineffective it was! I asked for a refund in September and sprayed Round up myself. Again Ally said that she was 'more than certain the weeds he sprayed did indeed die' and that I 'just seem to be a customer that will never be satisfied'. In the beginning of September, I asked for a full refund! Ally has refused and insists on charging me for one application. It's about 6 weeks later and I haven't received a penny! I filed a claim with the BBB today!

I recently realized that I had not received my annual proposal, so I called South Jersey Weed Control.  I was put on a long hold, then told by Ally that there was a "Do Not Renew" note on my account.  When I asked why she just said there were too many problems.  When I told her no one contacted me to advise that I would not be renewed, she didn't apologize or offer any explanation.  She just said they could refer me to another company.  I asked what the problems were so she put me on hold again, then she said she doesn't know, just that Jamie said not to renew.  I asked her if it was due to the fact that, last year, on two occasions after they had sprayed, I called to let them know that the treatment didn't work and Jamie advised me that it can take up to 14 days, so I waited till it had been over 14 days and called back.  I was polite and not upset, and the phone call went well.  Jamie said she would come out and take a look, which she did, and when she saw that the weeds had actually grown and were still very green, she sprayed again, and I thanked her.  I asked Ally if they consider that a problem, and isn't that their policy, to come back if necessary.  First she just tried to refer me to another company and wasn't answering the question, then she admitted that is their policy, but that It would have to be a large outbreak.  Jamie did come out to inspect, and evaluated the area as needing to be sprayed again.  I really didn't think it was a problem, and I'm quite surprised that they would treat me this way even though I've been a good, paying customer since 2013.  I didn't hire them from Angie's List, but I'm very surprised to find them on here.  I use contractors from Angie's List, and they always back their work, adhere to their own policies and are considerate and professional.  I didn't expect that small, local companies would treat locals the way large insurance companies do.  I said to Ally, I guess its like insurance companies, right?  You pay your premium for years and when you have one claim you are not renewed.  She had no response.  I'm very surprised, but glad that I have Angie's List to help me find a new company

The Cost of Service is for a full 6 months of weed control for our entire home property (60ft x120ft) covered in clam shells.  Weeds take root in the shells very easily.  We have been a customer for over 5 years and find the employees are quick, effecient, and willing to listen to and act on any issues and requests.  They will even come out for spot services, if needed.   They are cheaper and much faster than when we did it ourselves (we tried!). They are also very friendly and knowledgeable.

I have had a good workiing relationship with this company for several years, always renewing my contract without any problem. This year, in October, I received an invoice which I thought to be my renewal contract and promptly paid it. In January, I received my annual contract invoice, and didn't understand why I was billed a second time. When I contacted them to question the 2 bills, I was told that the October contract was to extend my treatments for 12 months. Since this is a summer home, I have no need to treat these areas during the winter months and explained this to them. I explained that I paid the first bill believing it was my annual renewal and would like that money transferred to the service I thought I was purchasing. The rudeness that followed from the young woman on the phone was absurd and completely disproportionate to the request I was making. I was told that I wouldn't be permitted to transfer the funds unless an exception was made by the Manager, Katherine. I'm still waiting for Katherine to call.

I have been using them on and off for the last 15 years. I don't know when they come, but I don't see any weeds and so I know that they do come. I think that their price is good. You can send them an email or call them and tell them what you want and the job gets done. They send you a bill with everything itemized. They do the work very quietly. They are competent and they do what you ask them to do.
