About us

Consider It Done, Inc. has been a New Jersey based junk removal and cleanout service business for over 30 years. The company is owner operated by Jennifer Padula who has been the only owner since its inception in 1988. Jennifer has over 15 years experience working hands on in the field and is now full time in the office. We do not use a "call center" or answering service. Instead we have five full and part time employees in the office handling estimates, scheduling and maintenance. All office staff has training out in the field, so you will always speak with someone who has first hand knowledge and experience. We are the largest personalized full service junk removal company in New Jersey with a fleet of 10 vehicles, providing the dedicated service of loading and carting. We are not a "jack of all trades". We screen all applicants who wish to work here to ensure that they are trustworthy, courteous and respectful. We allow only trained and experienced employees to supervise each job. All supervisors have a minimum of six months of experience and our Field Supervisor has been with us for many years. We recycle and donate over 50% of the material and items that we haul away. We are able to keep costs down by helping you estimate how much your job may cost over the phone before coming to your home or business.

Description of Work: Don't be put-off by the cost of our particular project - it was far from typical. However, I'm sure there are families that face a similar issue. Our project involved a 4-bedroom house and attached two-car garage that was completely overwhelmed by trash and way too much excess stuff. It was very difficult to even walk in the house. Because the house had not been lived-in for over 3 years, several small critters had made it their home. Jennifer (the owner of CID) and Steve, the supervisor for our job, were both extremely professional and non-judgemental. It took 3 full days to complete the project with as many as 8 people on the site at one time. It gives me great peace of mind to know that the job was done properly - with all items being properly disposed of (e.g. paint and electronics), recycled, or donated. I didn't think anyone could take on a job of this size, and was quite frankly ashamed to ask for help, but everyone at Consider It Done did an amazing job. I am very grateful for their help.

Overall, the process was extremely efficient. There were two young men who examined all the items and compared it to the checklist that I had emailed, making sure that the plan to arrange the items worked out well. One of the things that really impressed me was how aware they were of an item that my 84 year old mother would have sentimental value for and showed it to her and made sure that this picture that she really did want did not end up in the trash pile.
Description of Work: One of the storms back in 2010 ruined our basement. Water damage ruined everything downstairs which included bookcases, a bed, numerous bookcases, a large television and filing cabinets among other things. When we were finally ready to get everything hauled away, I called CIDJunk.com because I had noticed one of their trucks on a local road (Route 9) and then checked them out using Angie's list. I reviewed their website and everything they advertised about their procedures, estimates, and employees was true. I provided a list of the items that needed to be removed by email and they gave me an estimate. Unfortunately, and entirely my fault, there were more things that I did not account for which included bags, papers, bedding, etc. but the hauler called back at the main office and balanced out what I left out with what I decided to hold back at the last minute. CIDJunk.com is a professional organization that operates with integrity and I appreciated their professionalism and efficiency. When they experienced delays getting to my house in the morning because of a truck problem, they called and continually updated me to let me know their estimated arrival time. I highly recommend Consider It Done.

Knowing that my mother's house would need clean-out sooner or later, I found this company on the Internet. I choose them because they don't throw everything they remove into the trash--they sort it and donate or recycle about 50% of the material. I left a voice mail message on Sunday, August 28, after a family member had pumped water out of my mother's basement. Anthony and then Jennifer called me the next morning. They asked questions about the contents of the basement, and Jennifer provided an estimate of $3700, based on a rate of $75 per cubic yard. She clearly explained that the phone estimate was only approximate, and the cost could be higher. Also, so many roads were blocked by flooding and fallen trees that the soonest they could get their trucks to my mother's house to do the job was 8 AM on Tuesday, August 30. I agreed to the estimate and the timing. Steve and a co-worker arrived promptly at 7:50 AM in a large, clean-looking truck with their NJ hauling license number and company logo painted on it. Two other workers arrived shortly thereafter in a similarly painted dump truck. My mother started to sort things on one side of her basement. The men quietly started work in another part of the basement until I could encourage her to go upstairs. The 4 men worked quickly and tirelessly, carrying 2 or 3 large boxes or other heavy items at a time up the 9 stairs and out the front door to the driveway, where their trucks were parked. We forgot to take a flower wreath off the front door and a picture off the wall in the hallway, but they did not damage those things at all. It took them 5 hours, including sorting recyclables and usable items (tools, dishes) into separate containers and putting trash into the dump truck. The items included a large metal cabinet and a solid wood workbench about 10 feet long. At my request, they unbolted a vise from the workbench for us to save. They also left the metal shelving units, as requested. In one of those shelving units they put oil-based paint and other household hazardous waste, saying they could remove it for an additional charge. I decided to take care of that myself later. The cost was $4193 for removal of 55 cubic yards of material. Considering that they took a broken water heater (not part of the plan, but appreciated) and did the work soon enough so that the basement could dry and not develop mold, the cost seems reasonable to me.
Description of Work: Emptied 55 cubic yards of heavy, wet material from my mother's basement after it had been flooded during Hurricane Irene. Sorted the material into recyclables, items to donate, household hazardous waste (which I will remove later), and trash, and hauled it away in 2 trucks.

Called a couple of days ahead to get a quote on removing refrigerator from basement. Professional, answered all my questions, also explaining cost to recycle refrigerant etc. I set up the appoinment for Wednesday Nov 10. Someone called me the day before and confirmed appoinmnet and time. Told me they would be there between 7 am and 7:15 am. Impressive they came at 7:06 am (they marked it on the receipt). They got right to work, removed doors, and carried refrigerator up the steps and out they back door quickly and easily. They were polite, professional, and left the area clean.

Found Consider It Done here on Angie's List. We called to get an estimate and scheduled pickup for the next day. Estimate was spot on and they loaded all the trash for us. They came exactly at the time they had specified (a one hour window). We'd use them again in a heartbeat and absolutely recommend them.

I called on the afternoon of 09/23/09. They fit me in for the early moorning the next day and were on time. They were pleasant to work witth.
