Scheduled my appointment online. Had my choice of days and times. Very nice. Plumber was on time, called about an hour before he arrived and promptly fixed my clogged bathroom sink. He was very courteous and professional. The one problem I have with Roto Rooter is the cost of the repairs. It cost me $480.00. Outrageous!

My 15 month old son flushed a block down the toilet. The plumber from Roto Rooter tried to snake the toilet and couldn't do it, so he had to remove the toilet to take it out. He took care of it and reattached the toilet. Two days later, as I was on my way out to get a child saftey for the bathroom door, my son threw another toy into the toilet and flushed that down, too. When the second guy came, I told him he would have to remove the toilet, but when he tried to snake it anyway, he found that the toy was close enough that he could reach it with his hands. He took it out, but it still cost us $150 to have him show up. the guy felt bad, and snaked out the toilet for us anyway, because he was there.

They knew right off hand of what the problem was and snaked the pipe in the yard. It did clear it up.

I called Rotor Rooter because I was desperate. Ernie, the serviceman, returned the call almost immediately. I told him the problem and before agreeing to come to the house I had to agree to pay close to $400 dollars IF the problem whas what he stated it was. Once at the house he said he would have to remove the toilet to fix the problem and the cost would be $600.00! In less than 15 minutes he has sucked up at the sewage that had fallen in the tub and had run a snake through the toilet after saying he had to close the door to get it done. The toilet was not removed. I have no problems paying a fair price, but $600 for 15 minutes? I think when Ernie saw the inside of our modest Southampton home he assumed we had money flowing out of our ears which is not the case. I will NEVER use this company again and will encourage anyone I know to avoid them at all costs (no pun intended). Rotor Rooter's business practices are unacceptable. Though I shouldn't have paid that amount in the first place I had neither the time nor energy to debate the issue. I am in the process of contacting the powers that be at RR in an effort to get half my money back. If I do not get any semblance of cooperation I will report them to the BBB.

Plumber was professional and thoughtful. I got a quick call back after submitting my appointment request and plumber arrived within half an hour. He put the plastic baggies over his shoes (really nice touch since the family walks bare footed at home), assessed problem with water pipes, quickly made repairs and then noticed leaking bathtub spout. Offered to replace knobs to stop this leak with a fair estimate of the price, even re-caulked some tiles and explained how to repair other tile / wall problems we are having. Overall, very happy with job and thought he did a great job. Price is a bit steep but I've used RR before and was already aware of that.

Jolie was able to determine that if he cut into the pipe behind the wall he would be able to snake the clog and clean the pipe. He spent 5 hours working on the plumbing and the cleaning the drain pipe. I was not happy with the pricing, but understood there was more involved than originally estimated. I am very pleased with Jolie's ability to get the job done!

Ken is excellent. He has fixed plumbing for us before and this time he did a great job as usual.

Roro-Rooter got the drain cleared. Roto-rooter maybe a little pricey, but they got the job done whereas the first plumber I called gave up but still charged for a house call.

Installed gas conversion, new piping, controls, manifolding, and tie-ins.

The company is very punctual. They arrived exactly when the promised. They charge a service fee of $120.00 which is applied to the repair. The company gave a 10% Angie's list discount. They were very neat placing runners and mats down to avoid tracking dirt around the house. The plumber, Jayson and his assitant were polite and the used a shop vac to clean up the water in the basement from the broken pipe. I would defintely use them again.

The plumber was nice enough but the estimate on the work was way out of line.

Stay away! Complete rip off! It was a simple (as it turned out later $85) job that was done in 20 min. We had just a clogged drain in our bathroom. Roto Rooter didn't keep an appointment that was set on 8 to 10 pm. We've waited till midnight. Then called to reschedule for the next day. Called Roto Rooter just because it's an old established company and we had $30 off coupon. Please don't fall for it. You will end up paying $100's more trying to save $30. I would never agree to pay so much. Doctors with their expensive MD's and PHD's don't make $400 in 30 mins. I wasn't home. My husband still can't believe that he paid so much. I called back to Roto Rooter to ask for their price list. There is no price list. An operator couldn't give even approximate numbers(from $ to unimaginable?). I'm going to report them to Better Business Bureau. Needless to say that they shamelessly ripped off super storm Sandy victims.

It was the first time we had used them. Everything went find. We called on a Saturday night and they came Sunday morning. We have a 6 month warranty on th work done.

overall, things went well. once their plumber saw I knew what was needed. i would use them again but would question them a lot if they said a big job wae needed

The person they sent was not very personable. After he snaked for a little while he said I had a collapsed sewer under my sidewalk. He called a colleague to come give me a quote to fix it and the latter said I needed a whole new sewer line run that would cost around $10,000!!!!!!!!!!!! I asked them to put a camera down to show me the collapse but they said they could not. He also said I had to pay $200 fir their time even though they could not resolve the problem ( he said it would have been $400 for the whole service if he had to just clear roots). . After they left I called s plumber and they came and snaked again and put a camera down and found only roots-no collapse. I paid the plumber to remove the roots. I called Roto Rooter to get a refund a d they said no!

The apartment below us was flooded because of the snaking of the drain. This damaged one of the pipes. After taking our showers the next day, that's when the water fell through. They were also several hours late.

Needed to replace a nipple under the bathroom sink since it had corroded and was leaking. Called two plumbers who wanted $89 and $99, respectively, to come out and look at the job and give me an estimate as to the cost. I declined since you are basically stuck accepting their price for the job unless you want to throw away the service charge for the estimate. Roto-Rooter Plumbing said that they would come out and give an estimate at no charge, which I thought was fair, and could be there in an hour, which was good since I needed to get the job done. I told them to come and they were there on time. However, the guy wanted $270 to do the repair, which I told him was ridiculous, since it implied that it was going to take him two hours to do the job, at the $135/hour rate that I was quoted by another plumber who unfortunately was too busy to come and do the repair. I then remembered my neighbor had a handyman she used for plumbing jobs, got his number from her, and called him. He came over and did the repair in 20 minutes for $40.

Not too satisfied... Job is done but I thought it was too expensive. Of course I had no choice but to get it done once he quoted me the price. They were late the second day after canceling on me twice during the first day. There was snow which is why they canceled the second time but the first was just a mistake on their part. I wasted 2 days waiting to get the job done.

We discovered a leak on Christmas Day and called Roto-Rooter. The dispatcher told us when the gentleman would arrive and called again when he was on his way. He showed up on time, inspected the area, and told us it would require him to return with a licensed plumber. As it was a slow leak, he told us he would return the next day so we could enjoy our Christmas dinner! As promised, he returned the following day with a colleague. The dispatcher phoned us to tell us the time they would arrive. They were professional, courteous and identified and fixed the problem. In addition, we asked them to replace a leaking float valve in another bathroom, which they did. The price was reasonable for the service performed and both gentlemen were professional and courteous.

We are hurricane Sandy victims that were almost duped by an unscrupulous plumber, who told us we had cracks in our waste line pipe. I called Jason from Roto Rotor, and he came first thing the next morning. He scoped our lines with a camera, and found no cracks or problems, with the one line another plumber told us should be repaired, and when he scoped the line under our toilet bowl, he clearly saw a large piece of material, wrapped in a shoe lace, that the original plumber told us was a crack in our pipe. Jason suggested a simple tool we could use to fish the blockage out of our pipe. he then came back to our house and scoped our line out again to ensure there were no other issues. Two house calls and he did not charge us! He said he just wanted to help people suffering from the storm , not be victimized twice. We are so grateful there are servicemen like Jason out there. He is our plumber for life! We would have spent over $10,000.00, had we not gotten a second opinion from an honest person.

No idea what the deal is over there, Roto-Rooter has called to delay their visit 3 times yesterday, and again this morning. I've now last 1 and half days waiting in my house for a truck that never arrived. You guys have lost my business, and I'll be sure to share this experience with the rest of my colleagues, friends and family. We don't be calling on your company again.

They were courteous and responsive, but their price was very high and I didn't go with them.

They charged a lot of money snaking the drain and doing some other stuff and then just said that it probably was a septic tank problem. There was a garbage can in the basement, but he didn’t bother to put it under where all the liquids were going to come out. The septic and stuff went all over the place in our garage and some of our belongings.

It flooded the floor. It was horrible and I couldn’t get it to turn off. They sent this amazing plumber, who I have used before, and he was wonderful. Ed was able to shut the water off and repair it. He did the whole job in one night. I was very impressed. This happened in the middle of the night.
