Contracted with provider for interior painting, wallpaper removal, and drywall repair. Contract was for $7,500 with 30% down and the balance upon completion. I paid an additional $800 for more paint and some extra service. I provided the paint. Provider provided the labor. Provider estimated it would take 2 1/2 weeks to complete the project. Provider moved everything in rooms into center of rooms as well as closets and into garage. All items were removed from the walls as well as all cabinet handles and nobs. To say this was an inconvenience is an understatement. Initially, because of his paint removal of certain doors and the fact that nothing had been covered, dust was everywhere in the house, furniture, and clothing. I almost terminated the agreement at that time. The provider assured me he would have someone to come clean everything to my satisfaction upon completion. Over the next NINE weeks, the provider failed to show a number of times for "car problems", "sickness", "to let the paint dry". "things he needed to do", "needed to bring help", "traffic problems", "raining too much", and he started work on another job. When the provider did show, it was always after 9:00 a.m. and he almost always left by 2:00 p.m. Provider was constantly asking for some payment, at least twice a week. I did make payments to him out of the goodness of my heart and the fact some progress was being made. BIG MISTAKE! Should not make payments to this provider until project is completed as agreed upon. After nine weeks, the provider stated he was finished because he was starting another job and I could keep the balance of his payment, which was about $700. . Most of the painting had been completed, but there were areas that needed more work. The problem was he was not coming back. Drywall repair was left unrepaired. A/C vents were left unpainted. All of the furniture, pictures, handles, knobs, window blinds, window coverings, light and wall plug faceplates, clothing and anything else involved with the house were left in the middle of rooms, closets, and the garage for me to try to sort through and replace them where they had been. Trash to be thrown away was left including a 24 foot fabric covered cornice board that was left on the back patio. The cleaning he had promised was never done, leaving everything covered in dust, not to mention the fact that that because of his disruption for NINE WEEKS, nothing could be cleaned. The experience with this provider was a nightmare. Would I use him again - **** NO!!! BUYER BEWARE!
