Hi Stu We apologize.. but we never received a voice mail on any extension. I’m sure it is an issue on our side . Was the calls after hours?? If so did you dial 1 for emergency? We checked that Voice mail as well and there were not any messages. We have had a good working relationship in the past so we certainly apologize and hope you can give us an opportunity in the future. Thank you RYAN & CompanyService Provider Response

We have tried to reach you via phone and email to discuss your concerns with no response. We are sorry you had a bad experience with our company. We are a family owned and operated business serving the Morris County community for over 30 years and we strive to create the best working relationship that we can with our valued customers. As you mentioned in your review, your HVAC system is quite old. Our technician provided your wife a thorough assessment of that system, as well as the others in your home, one which was not mentioned when the appointment was initially scheduled, as you can see by the notes he included on his work order..."Inspected and tested 2nd floor and basement AC systems for cause of no cooling on the 2nd floor and poor cooling in the basement. The home has 3 systems total. Started with the 2nd floor system. Checked thermostat. Works normally and turns unit on. Did notice a noise from the return grill. Checked and found a large sheet of plexi glass that previous homeowner had installed as a means of preventing cold drafts coming down the return in the winter. However when the blower for 2nd floor comes on it sucks the plexiglass up and blocks off air flow. Removed this from the grill. Checked air handler in the attic. Air filter was clean. Blower works normally. Tested outdoor unit (middle unit of the 3). Found condensor fan running, but not compressor. Tested compressor and found compressor has failed. Due to the age of the unit it is not feasible to get a replacement compressor only. Recommended several options to the homeowner. The first option is to install a dry r22 condensing unit. This would be an entirely new outdoor condensing unit. This option would mean leaving the existing air handler in the attic in place. We would recharge the system with the original refrigerant of r22. This is the least expensive option. The second choice is to replace the entire system, including the air handler in the attic, and the outdoor condensing unit. This would convert the system over to the new refrigerant of r410a. However this is a much higher cost option as it is a much more labor intensive process and can take longer to get all the material and equipment to complete. However this option would eliminate future issues as all of the equipment would have a warranty. If the homeowners choose to go with option 1 of just replacing the outdoor unit, the indoor unit can be replaced at a later date if needed, and the unit can be adapted to run on the older r22 refrigerant. Inspected and tested the basement unit. Again all indoor equipment, filter, and thermostat are working normally. Checked outdoor unit. Found that the condensing unit was replaced at some point in the past. Checked the unit and found system was low on refrigerant. Recharged system with refrigerant to get system back up and running. Left unit working normally upon completion. As a courtesy, also checked the 1st floor system. All is working normally at this time." He spent over an hour and a half going over the system and making his assessments. We are sorry that he didn't just suggest replacing the capacitor at that time. He was focusing on the bigger picture rather than a quick fix.Service Provider Response
