on time professional crew of 3, were quick, efficient apartment to apartment a few miles away.The appraiser who estimated the move did a flat rate instead of hourly which seemed a little high in retrospect vs hourly after the fact. A smooth move though and courteous crew and not day laborers that some outfits use..

Once again Tommy was great. He got right back to me when I initially called him to set this up. I had to postpone and when I called him back he was able to accomodate me within 2 days. His guys are great and remembered me and my house from my move 3 months ago! They were careful, courteous and came prepared to get the job done efficiently without any problems.I was moving antique furniture and was nervous but everything went smoothly and without a scratch.

From speaking to him over the phone, to the estimate, to the actual day of the move Tommay was polite, professional and right on time. He and his crew arrived and within minutes the process was rolling and they even finished earlier than I expected.

My wife and I moved most of the items from our home by ourselfs. We had about 10 large items that we needed help moving. We worked with the owner from Van with a Man and he was great. Since we only had a small amount of items to move and only a short distance he waived his usual minimums and gave us a very good rate for what we needed done. We would use them again expect that we do not have any plans to move again for a long time. We would recommend Van with a Man to anyone.

We made arrangements for a pickup and delivery and he never showed up. I called several times and never received a call back. Extremely unprofessional.

It went good. They were reliable, punctual and moved my stuff without anything getting broken.

Our experience with them was pretty good. They did a good job except that the owner was away so I guess it was the assistant. What happened was at the end when we had to pay I gave them my credit card and all of a sudden they told me that I had to pay the card swiping fee which was an additional seven percent. I knew I had to pay the tax of course but they said I also had to pay this card swiping fee and that was not discussed with me in advance so I didn't like that. He called his owner I guess in his vacation or wherever he was and the owner said I have to pay that. They wanted me to pay cash but I wanted a record that I had paid so I wanted to use the credit card because they wouldn't take a check as I wanted a record. I wanted to have some kind of proof that I had paid for it so they didn't like that. Of course I was willing to pay the tax but then they wanted this extra seven percent so I thought it was a little bit diseased with that. I don't even know why it would be such a high amount because usually it's just two or three percent. If they don't want to accept cards I think it's their responsibility to pay the swiping fees. They were good with the furniture and we didn't have any breakages. I gave them their tipping cash. Their quality and responsiveness was very good. I think they were a few minutes late. I would use them again only if the owner is going to be there.

We first got in touch in mid June, he had a worker, Rich come out June 25th and give us an estimate. And by July 8th I called back to confirm things. Initially, I tried to get in touch with Rich who never answer his phone he'd only reply via text for some weird reason and sometimes he wouldn't reply at all or say he had to talk to his boss first. To get things moving faster, July 12th I called up Tommy the owner myself, who seemed nice and just busy but willing to do the job. He committed to doing the move and said he had us on his calendar for July 27th. He also said he wanted to come back for a second estimate because Rich wasn't sure about some of our items and maybe the price would change. I was fine with that, I had no problem paying more because based on reviews here I was willing to pay for someone who could do quality work efficiently. First he said he'd come Monday 7/15 (even though I saw on his Facebook page he wrote he was heading out to Florida for a move, but I figured that was another worker). come Monday he says he ended up having to go to Florida and he'd be back Thursday 7/18 and I should call then to set up time. I ask if he's too busy and can't do it I understand, but just tell me so I can make other arrangements. He goes no no I'll be back this week for sure. I call Thursday and he says he's still heading back from FL, but he'd definitely be here by Friday the 19th since he has to be somewhere in NJ by 5pm. I say it doesn't matter how late on Friday but now its just a week before my move date and we really need to finalize everything. He was very nice and agreed saying we'll be in touch on Friday for sure. Meanwhile on Thursday I saw pictures of him go carting in VA on way back from FL, if you have time to stop and do that then you have time to meet a client on the date you promise them. So Friday from 4pm-6pm I'm calling and he never answered. Finally around 7pm he answers when i call from a diff number and that's when he got rude and said he no longer wants to do work with us. If he was honest with me from the get go and didn't make excuses for when he'd be here next I would've trust him. I can understand if he's busy and couldn't do the job, I would've accepted it and looked elsewhere. It's completely normal to want a written contract a week before your move date because just as I feared I was out of a mover and many other major companies were booked up at that point. So I wouldn't recommend him to anyone due to unprofessional behavior, lack of responding or showing up, avoiding calls and cancelling last minute. If you're that busy, hire an office administrator to take your calls and make your schedule and then actually stick to it! I was upset he cancelled on me so late minute but realize i was lucky to not have my move handled by someone who is flaky and untrustworthy.

As stated above I have used Tommy and his crew several times. The first time was to move one of my offices to a new location. I contacted him, he came out and gave an estimate and was ready to go. This was a full office move, including desks, equipment, etc. His crew was polite, stayed focused and handled everything professionally. Everything arrived in perfect condition. As it turned out, soon after I used him for a different office. Again, great results. I felt completely comfortably using Tommy's company to move my personal belongings to a storage unit. Recently moved to New Jersey, and our house was way too small. Or may we had too much stuff, not sure. Either way, Tommy came and moved everything we needed to a storage. This past June, we made the Big Move to our new house. I have used "big name" moving companies in the past for whole house moves. I didn't even consider them this time. I knew I could completely trust Van With a Man to take better care of my belongings than any "big name" company. It was an all day move, again I have a lot of stuff, but Tommy and his crew took care of everything. One of the greatest things, is his crew. These are not day labor temps that show up to load or unload. Trust me, I had that experience. A 'big name mover" unloaded all of my belongings with temps. I can't begin to explain how horrible that experience was. Tommy's crew is the BEST!! They know each other, they work as a team. From over six moves, one chair leg was damaged. Tommy made sure he repaired the chair leg. I didn't even believe it was the damaged leg. I don't usually give out such lavish praise, I am typically very picky and have very high expectations. Van With A Man met all of my expectations every time. No matter how small or how big, they came through each time. Every time with a reasonable price, every time making sure I was satisfied with their service. I recommend them to anyone, any size move, any distance.

Those guys were pretty good. They were on time and they were reasonably priced. They did a good job. Before I could get the brass bed to my house, I sold it. They moved it to the person who bought it. I liked everything about them. They were prompt. They showed up and got the job done quickly. They took the brass apart and they moved it very quickly down the elevated to the truck, loaded it and then brought it over to the house where I sold the bed to. I would absolutely use them in the future. I won't hesitate.

Everything went smoothly; all the guys were efficient, respectful and professional. They worked fast but were very careful; we have many fragile items.. all arrived unharmed. These guys took the stress out of a stressful day. They aim to please and have fun while doing that.

We have moved numerous times over the last 20 years - and until now, we have never been happy with any of our moving companies. This was the BEST moving experience we've ever had - it was perfect in every way! Tommy was fantastic - very thorough in itemizing. The job actually came in a little under budget which was a nice surprise. Even if it hadn't, the price was great. We've paid more for less items AND to move directly from one house to another - not two moves like this will end up being. Tommy's team was also great - they worked quickly and very well together and, I can actually say, I enjoyed move day for the first time EVER. I cannot recommend them enough and I look forward to seeing them again on the second leg of our move.

Two weeks before my scheduled move, I called Tommy Dumon, the owner of Van With a Man, who stopped by my apartment in Eatontown after work a couple days later to give me an estimate. I liked Tommy right away. He makes you feel comfortable. He seems genuine. He took stock of my apartment, made a few calculations, and then gave me an estimate of $500 to move my living room, bedroom and office furniture to a fourth-floor apartment in Aberdeen. He figured it would take 3 hours. I thought it was a very fair price. The day of the move, Tommy sent 3 guys to my place in Eatontown -- Phil, Tom, and Rich. All three of them were super nice and super professional. They packed up my stuff in less than an hour and then met me in Aberdeen a short time later. They unloaded the van, put all my stuff where I asked them to in the new apartment, and they were all done in 2.5 hours -- which was under the 3-hour estimate. No extra charges. No fuss. No mess. No damage to my furniture. Moving is full of stress and anxiety, but Tommy and his team did a great job. I would not hesitate to use them again, or recommend them to anyone else who is planning to move. Well done, Van with a Man. --Steve

as above, my first time using angie's list and was extremely dissapointed. Will be cancelling as this service is no better than the yellow pages.

All went fine. Good communications. Prompt, polite move. No notable damage. 3 hour minimum was frustrating, but consistent wth everybody in town. Felt well served & I would use this vendor again.

They gave me an estimate on the phone for what they said would be 3 hours. With the wrapping, move and unwrapping and putting items in place perfectly it was only 2 3/4 hours. Would definitely recommend them. I did not realize they give a senior discount until I went to read their page today. Oh, well, I did not tell them I was a senior.

I had to move furniture from one house in one town to another town with short notice. I called Van with a Man and was able to make arrangements to have the service I needed with a 3 day notice. He quoted my price based on the informaiton I gave him. The 3 men arrived at the house at the time they said they would. They loaded the truck with no problems and moved and unload the furniture with no problems. I am very happy with the service and the price for the service.

How often do you get a contractor that does everything they say that they will do and more! Tom did just that and more. Excellent communications, professional, on time and a real gentlemen! Great experience! Would recommend any time any moving job!

Tommy was very helpful and communicated with me through the whole process. The people where the items were picked up said he was very professional which was my experience with Tommy. I'd call him again in a heart beat. Good guy.
