Van With a Man

I worked with Tommy a week prior to arrange the move. Tom was extremely flexible and followed up later in the week to confirm the move. On the day of the move, I was informed that due to unforeseen circumstances, the move would be delayed by an hour. That was not an issue because when they arrived they worked so efficiently that the lost time was not even noticed. Phil and Tom were on the move and were very courteous. The movers certainly try to push their "insurance" plan for the move of your items, but that is part of the deal during a move. Overall, they charge one flat rate for 3 hours, then $30 for every 15 minutes thereafter, which was pretty fair. Once at the storage unit, they worked very quickly to unload the truck and stacked our items safely and used all available space effectively. Very satisfied with this move and would consider using them again.

They did a fantastic job from start to finish. Great care, very friendly & helpful. Even helped with some things I didn't originally ask for. Took a sofa out and threw it in the dumpster for me. Very professional and great at doing their jobs. I would absolutely use again and recommend highly to anyone.

These guys are amazing. On time, careful about packing and walls, etc when moving things around. Personable , accommodating and responsive. It was a tight timeframe, and Tommy took care of us in quality fashion.

Tommy came over to give a detailed estimate of how much stuff we had to move, and how much it would cost. We agreed on a flat price and he did everything he said he would do when he said he would do it. He and his guys worked for 11 hours and did a great job. I was initially concerned that they didn't have large trucks but he came with 3 pretty large trucks/vans and fit everything. They know what they are doing. I highly recommend.

Tommy came home to give an estimate; despite of the short notice and over the weekend. He gave an estimate and stuck to it to the end. He brought movers with a truck- they have disassembled bed and treadmill. Although they were expected to arrive at 2 PM; the delay was expected and he gave us updates calling me. Also they gave me the expected arrival time and have arrived promptly on the said date and time. They have fixed the bed and treadmill. Only thing to note was for "interstate moving" they take cash or credit card (with a 10% surcharge)- no checks; Tommy told me this in advance.

These guys are the absolute best!! My wife and I were very unsure about hiring someone we knew nothing about to move us from NJ to Florida, but Tommy, the owner, made us confident they would do a great job and they did not disappoint. We did not have amy damage whatsoever and they took the time to put everything right where it belonged and reassembled anything that required it! We would like to thank Tommy, Chris, Craig, Elliot & Phil!! We could not have been happier with a mover!

The move did not start on time because of a glitch with their schedule. However, once I called, the two movers arrived within 30 minutes. Phillip and Tom were courteous, efficient and cordial. They got right to work and finished the entire move within the expected time frame. They even helped rearrange furniture when I couldn't decide on its placement! One item was also delivered to a different location without any problems. All in all it was a smooth move and a pleasant experience!

They didn't have a large moving van but instead had to smaller moving trucks. There wasn't enough room for all of the furniture. It took a while to get going since they had to repack the truck. After the move you could tell that they were very tired. I gave each man $50 as a tip. It was around 2 days later that I noticed there were some missing items. I kept calling the office to let them know that there were items missing. It was Justin who I was in contact with and he kept telling me that they were very busy and it would be a while before they could get to me. At this point I tracked down the owner Tommy and explained what happened. I have yet to hear back from anyone about my missing items.

Showed up an hour late, but, once they got there, the men were very courteous and helpful. The least stressful move I've had in a long while.

Movers arrived on the date of move. It was 8:00 and, hard to believe, but because of several snafus I didn't know where the furniture was going: to my new house, my new garage, or storage. By 9:30 we learned that we could move in. Hurray. The movers were excellent: very professional: very courteous, and all-in-all very nice. Their boss Tommy was very willing to be flexible with scheduling and remained calm throughout all the mayhem that this move incurred. I felt they were competitively priced. and the job got done right. Staff was adequate to get job done quickly and efficiently for loading and on the unload very helpful in helping me to visualize furniture placement. I would highly recommend them in the future.

It seems if you get Tommy to show up for an estimate everyone is happy with his service. But as I found out, along with others apparently, sometimes he just won't show up. I don't get why I wasn't just told I was too far for him to consider. It's just a shame I was waiting at home twice for him. My advice is don't consider him if you are more than 25 miles from him.

Found out on a Saturday night that I had to unexpectedly move some stuff the next day. Looked into U-haul and hiring someone to help me. Thought about how much trouble it would be so I called Tommy at 6 pm that Saturday night. Thought there'd be no way he'd pick up and unlikely that he'd get back to me until Monday. I was wrong. He answered and told me he'd have a crew ready the next morning. The guys showed up right on time. Quickly moved everything out, headed back to the house and the guys quickly unloaded everything. Professional, punctual, quick and not a scratch. I appreciate not just that they did a good job but they did it on quick notice without complaint. Highly recommend and would use again.

It went very smoothly. I emailed them at around 7 am. not even three min. later , my phone rang and Tommy and I set up the move for 2 pm the same day, the moving guys finished their it previous job early and were able to start my move at noon, which was even better. The guys were very professional - and finished the move under the three hour window. I high would definitely use them again.

Spoke with Tommie to schedule the appointment I was nervous and stressed out, he was great!! Three guys showed up instead of 2, they were courteous and professional. Moved items I did not tell them to move was fabulous and appreciated. The guys really went above and beyond with my move and I will of course use them again. Thanks so much!!!

They are professions who make the extra effort to make a stressful move become a pleasure. It was an enjoyable experience and we will use them again! HIghly recommended.

We were moving my mothers belonging from her home in PA to an assisted living facility in NJ and some the furniture to another location in NJ. Tommy was absolutely great to work with, always available, if I didn't get him directly he called me back within the hour. Because of weather and her room readiness, the date was postponed and rescheduled numerous times. Tommy was always accommodating and it was never a problem. The original quote was for one stop and I added the second stop to the request a couple of days before, fully expecting to pay additional charges, maybe because the stops were fairly close to each other, I was told "sure, no problem" and there were no additional charges. The guy's who showed up on the move date were on time, very personable and professional. They were patient and didn't mind moving furniture around till we were satisfied with how the room was setup. Overall this was a great experience and without a doubt I would use them again if I ever have the need and enthusiastically recommend Van with a Man.

Hard to make money when you don't show up to give an estimate. Will be calling someone else.

This was our sixth move and by far the most efficient with regard to the services needed. Since it was a local move, we moved most of our household ourselves but needed help with some oversized and heavy items. The owner Tommy was extremely responsive, professional and fit us in even though it was last minute. The entire crew works like a well-oiled machine; they were all professional, polite and efficient. Would definitely use them again.

overall very good. bent one metal file cabinet which i could bend back into position and fairly unnoticeable. everything else arrived well.
