They were excellent. They're thorough, professional and prompt. The quality was the one I like.

Joe Van Buren is old school...he is a true skilled craftsman who knows what he is doing and is a total professional. He is far from the other estimates that I received from contractor who planned on handing the job off to another team. Joe was always prompt, professional and thorough and performed all of the following work himself.: demolished the portico and carted away all the debris framed the new portico (securing it to the side of the house) installed step flashing against the house install sheathing against house box out framing in primed pine for painting install underlayment move light on side of house to the center of the portico (includes wiring and light fixture) shingled the roof installed new cedar shingles on house where old ones removed for framing installed a new gutters and down spouts frame out and install new exterior kitchen door Joe was patient as my mason was redoing the landing (and stairs) that the portico columns rested on. Joe started before the mason could and built temporary supports until the landing was complete and dry, then he built beautiful support columns that matched the column on the front of the house Joe was very helpful with decision that I had to make - what kind of exterior kitchen should I get - door is used as main home entry - he recommended a steel door and when I wanted the top half to be windowed, he delivered exactly what I wanted. My apologies for taking so long to write this review!

Joe and his workers showed up every day as scheduled. They were polite to me and my family and took care to treat my home with respect and care, as well as cleaning up their work area at the end of every day. The room looks beautiful and it was done on schedule and on budget. It was a pleasure to work with Joe and his company and I would recommend him for any job!

My husband and I had dealt with Joe (the owner of American Pride) previously as he re-did our bathroom. He is very pleasant and personable. He and his guys showed up early on a weekday and by the time my husband and I arrived home from work, they were basically done. All the old carpet was gone and they were just finishing the edges of the new floor. Joe could have been more communicative in that he didn't tell us that underneath the old carpet he found real hardwood. However, we probably wouldn't have done the project any differently with that information. We love the new floors and the work was done quickly and relatively cleanly. Joe disposed of the old carpet and left the house fairly clean. My one complaint is that a lot of the edges look a bit sloppy, as if they were rushed when they were done or no one went back to clean them up.
