+ -1 moreLast year, Rob of Rob C. Construction did a wonderful job renovating the first floor of our home. Unfortunately, after the job was completed, the kitchen ceiling developed a leak right above several of the new cabinets. In a panic, I called Rob up, and he came over before the rain stopped. He is easy to work with. He does great work. He cleans up after everything is done. We highly recommend Rob and plan to work with him again.
Description of Work: Phase two in our home improvements. The work included: Fixing the kitchen ceiling (with no damage to the new cabinets) Finding and correcting many places on the roof, around the windows, chimney, siding, (with new flashing , caulk, and siding ) New gutters New trim in front of house Removing a non-functional vent Replacing the glass in two casement windows Power washing the front of the house Removing a basketball hoop from the front driveway

+ 5 moreWe now have a BEAUTIFUL FIRST FLOOR (kitchen, living room, dining room, and entrance way) thanks to Rob of ROB. C. CONSTRUCTION. Rob listened to our ideas and made great suggestions. His knowledge about construction, details and what would work best in our house were right on target. Rob always returned our calls. He arrived at our front at 9:00AM each morning with a worker or two depending on what was going on that day. Rob and his crew worked professionally and cleaned up at the end of each day. He is hard working, honest, and a pleasure to work with. We would recommend Rob without any reservations.
Description of Work: Our project consisted of many different areas: removing the old kitchen cabinets and appliances removing old tiled front hallway putting in a new tile front hallway and running it seamlessly throughout the kitchen refinishing the wood floors in the living room and dining room replacing and staining the molding designing the arrangement of the new kitchen cabinets adding a granite counter top tiling the back splash installing new appliances straightening out the old walls and floors allowing us to remain comfortably in our house during all the construction

+ 2 moreJob went awesome. Rob is a hard worker, honest contractor and meticulous person. He was up front about everything with the job. In general my basement had a lot of issues and he tackled everything like a pro. The floor ended being very uneven. He spent the extra time to level and do it right. Definitely took him longer than expected and did not up-charge. His guys were great and professional as well. They always showed up on time or even early and worked through the day and not leaving early. Rob doesn't sell the job and stop by once in a while, he oversees it, takes the lead and does the hard work. I did the permits and plans with the town. He guided me and worked with me through that whole process. Great guy and company in general. Easy to talk to and sticks to his word. A must hire for anyone looking for remodeling in their house!!
Description of Work: Basement renovation. Framed basement, Sheetrock, tape/mud, tiled floors, installed multiple door/frames, and moldings.

+ -1 moreHe was supposed to buy 60 bags of cement but he said all the bags would not fix so he bought cement from two different places. The cement ended up drying different colors. He did not do a very good job with the top finish. Some of it he did a rough brush finish and others are a swirl. Make sure he gives you the contract when you sign it because he will not give us the contract now. Make sure he puts the wire mesh in because now he is wanting us to sign a paper stating if the cement cracks in 6 months he is not responsible. He offered to give us money back, but we have not seen the money yet. He charged us for two 8 hour days. The first day he was only here three hours and the second day he was here about seven hours.
Description of Work: He was supposed to put wire mesh down for a front sidewalk and then pour a sidewalk. He mixed cement by hand.

+ 0 moreOnce again, great job by Rob and his workers! This is the second time I have used him and couldn't be happier with the result! My 55 year old front staircase/ stoop and sidewalk was in complete disrepair. Rob gave me a few options and his personal recommendations. Of course I wanted it done right so I went with his recommendation. When they opened up the old stairs It was like opening up a can of worms. Several other things needed to be fixed before the stairs could be replaced. Rob took his time and keep me informed of every step he took. He keep the cost down to as close to the original estimate as he could however due to the unforeseen damage under the stairs the price went up a little. I wasn't worried because I knew it would be fixed right. I will totally use him again!
Description of Work: Totally rebuilt a brick/limestone and concrete staircase and segments of a concrete sidewalk.

+ -1 moreIt was two guys, Rob and Pete, that came to do the job. The job took two days and they were very meticulous. They kept us constantly updated about the progress of the project. They even went above and beyond with another door that I was having an issue with the weather stripping. They repaired that as well.
Description of Work: They replaced a Bilko Metal cellar door. They are patched up my cellar stairs and dry locked them.

Description of Work: Rob did several things around the house, the side door to the garage was replaced, to the basement outside entrance, the bilco's door frame was replaced also. In the rental unit, Rob took out old old sink and put custom made with cabinet. |The big job was replacing old porch and steps, making it wider, turn out to be quite a project from getting it approval to actually building it was a challenge, but Rob rose to it, turn out real nice. I am very happy with the work Rob did. |

+ 0 moreRob was very professional. He came and gave an estimate one evening. Out of the 4 estimates I got, Rob was the only one who took the time to explain the entire job to me and what if any problems he could run into. He made some suggestions on spacing and layout. I already had purchased the tile, although I should have waited as Rob could have gotten them at a discount.. but you live and learn. To the naked eye my basement floor looked level however in actuality it wasn't. Rob took the time to level all the uneven areas instead of just tiling over it and hoping for the best. It took a day or two longer but well worth the results! Professional and accommodating. I like the fact that his employees have worked with him for years. I would totally use him again on another job!

Although we did not use him or any other contractors due to unexpected life events, and therefore, change of plans, we would definitely consider using him in the future. He gave us a verbal estimate on the cost of our renovation, and even tried to work with our budget. He is a good listener and was very creative in suggesting details we would not have otherwise thought of.

We were two weeks away from closing on a home we purchased, and our lender raised concerns regarding the door of the detached garage and its structural soundness. I needed a trustworthy contractor, and fast. To make matters worse, there were periods of blizzard and snow storms during the last two weeks and working conditions weren't the best. Rob was extremely accommodating and despite the amount of work with other clients he already had scheduled, agreed to do the work on a tight deadline. Despite a few setbacks due to weather and other conditions that were outside of his control, Rob was punctual and ultimately got the job done in a timely manner. Regarding the garage, he was knowledgeable about the work, gave good recommendations on the types of doors and beam options, and afforded us a good price on the replacement garage door. Rob was also detail-oriented and did not seem to cut corners, even under a time constraint. Lastly, being a busy professional myself, I was appreciative of how communicative and flexible Rob was--he was constantly reachable via phone or text. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again in the future.
Description of Work: As part of a home purchase closing, I contracted Rob C Construction to replace the door of a detached garage, and install reinforcing beams to support the structure. In addition, Rob wrote a letter of professional opinion on the solidity of the structure per the bank's request.

+ 1 moreRob and his helper arrived promptly today ready to work. He had purchased 4" base molding, and a gallon of tile sealer. He covered my carpeting with tarps and both of them got right to work. Although it was moderately cold, Rob cut the molding outside and did a great job mitering the corners. I heard him working very hard. Both men worked on scraping old glue and putting sealer on the tile. He did a great cleanup and was very professional and friendly. He will be working for me again. I highly recommend him. I thought he could have done the job for $425.00 but I went the extra because there's not too many people I can trust.
Description of Work: Rob removed old glue from cove base and installed 4" molding all around the kitchen. He also sealed all of the wall tile in kitchen and entire bathroom and floor.He also caulked several areas of kitchen.

+ 5 moreWe decided to go with Rob C Construction because he was able to handle the entire job from beginning to end. His pricing was very fair and he was recommended to me from a friend who was also very satisfied with with their project. Rob C showed up every day on time, and completed the job on schedule. He was even able to adjust the schedule of work to be done and still finish the job on time even though our tile was delayed 1 full week from the supplier (which was not Rob C Construction's fault) since I was the one who ordered and bought all the tile. The entire project took 6 weeks to finish, but an extensive amount of work was done . Each day when the construction crew finished, they cleaned up their mess and it made living in the same house where the construction was going on more comfortable. Description of Work: I hired Rob C Construction to do a whole bunch of projects around both my current and previous home. I first had Rob perform masonry repairs on 2 retaining walls and the cement front steps of my old house to get these item fixed so that I could sell the property. These walls and steps looked to me like they were ready to fall apart, but Rob assured me that they were structurally sound could be repaired and refaced for a fraction of the cost of a complete demolition, and he was right... when Rob finished the job, they looked like brand new. This work was done 10 years ago, and they still look great. Now that we moved into our new home, I hired Rob C Construction do extensive remodeling in my new home since I was so happy with his previous work. They completely gutted 2 of our bathrooms, re-tiled our kitchen floor, tiled our entire 700 sq ft. basement, installed 2 new sliding glass doors, fixed a leak in the floor pan of our shower, and created an absolutely beautiful custom design on the back splash in our kitchen using natural marble. Not only was the work done at a reasonable cost, but it was done on time and on budget. I would highly recommend Rob C Construction to any of my family or friends and will have them back to do more work at my home the next time I need anything done. What I really like about Rob C Construction is that no job is too big or too small. I might also add that Rob was also very easy to get in touch with and stood behind his work. He even came back to fix a small crack in a grout line in our bathroom (which was not his fault, but due to my house settling) 6 months after he finished the job. Thanks for a job well done.
