MO 2 Renovations

Job was completed on time and within budget. We love how Matt took our dream and made it a reality! Would highly recommend him and his crew. In fact we have recommended Matt to our neighbor and he will be remodeling their kitchen.

We hired Matt to remodel our master bathroom. Prior to meeting Matt we had other contractors come in and check out the job. We were happy with them until we met Matt. From the start we were overly impressed with Matt. His ideas and vision of our bathroom were impressive and almost too good to be true. He had ideas that none of the other contractors even thought of. I was also able to tell that Matt was passionate about his work and liked to challenge himself. This wasn't just another job for him. We had Matt build our custom made counter top, mirrors, shelves and even a barn door. He made all this himself from scratch. Matt also took the time to meet us at the tile shop multiple time to help us make our decisions. Once the job started Matt didn't stop. He worked every day he could and even Saturday's on occasion. His crew were also a bunch of great guys. Matt and his crew are true craftsmen. They provide a service like no other and I will never use anyone else for my construction needs.

It went great. From the first time Matt came to look over the old bathroom, to coming to give me the estimate, to doing the actual work, Matt and his workers were always on time and came when he said he would. He gave me sound advice and gave me choices on how he could design the tile in the shower and the floor. He went out of his way to help me pick my vanity also. All his workers were great also. Not only did they do great work but they cleaned up everything after working everyday. Matt made it a point to show up on a Saturday morning when the plumber and electrician were here. I couldn't have been more pleased when I saw the completion of the job.

From the initial meeting to the completion of the job, MO2 was fantastic. The estimate was accurate, and the work was accomplished within the time specified to us. Matt was very easy to work with, and extremely responsive. He introduced us to Brick Tile and Stone, where we found great flooring, tile, and countertop choices. He answered all our questions and kept us updated on the schedule for the day. His crew did great work and kept the area very clean. We don't have any complaints and would enthusiastically recommend MO2.

Matt and his crew are absolutely the best. They are always on time, and are very polite, clean and careful. Our kitchen renovation was done within the time frame that Matt had committed to at the time of the estimate. We couldn't be happier with the results. Matt is very easy to work with, and easy to get in touch with. I would definitely use him again, and would recommend him to anyone.

After receiving several estimates, we decided to hire Matt for our Master bathroom renovation and we are extremely pleased with the results. We have had bad experiences in the past, but Matt put all that to rest. He was very easy to communicate with and also provided recommendations on design and how to get the best "bang for the buck". Matt and his crew were extremely respectful of our home taking all measures to keep excess dust/ dirt from entering the house and cleaning up before they leave. We were most pleased that the job was done in an extremely timely manner. (about 4 weeks). Several months later Matt returned to do some handyman work for us and I do plan to use his company again to complete another bathroom remodel! MO 2 is an A rating all the way!

When we contacted MO2 Renovations, Matt quickly responded and we made an appointment for an estimate for a full bathroom remodel the following week. Matt was friendly, professional, and VERY knowledgable. He took measurements and we discussed the entire process including what we can expect each day, and the timeframe to completion. My husband and I were having a hard time with the design since this was our first remodel and Matt had some really great suggestions and explained what would look good and work best aesthetically. This put us at ease and we were very pleased as we had been struggling. We received our formal estimate within a couple days and decided to choose MO2 remodeling. We discussed and chose materials including the tub, sink, vanity, toilet, medicine cabinet, fixtures, tile, etc and Matt worked closely with the plumbing supply and tile company to be sure that everything would be available. When the project started, it was exactly what he explained and what we expected. Everything was covered with plastic during the demolition of the old bathroom and we were very impressed with how clean everything was kept during the process. Matt and his crew kept us informed daily and were always more than happy to answer all of our questions. It is apparent that they take great pride in what they do. As far as the quality of the work, it was top-notch and we couldn't be happier! We actually dreaded this process because of some of the horror stories and bad reviews but MO2 Renovations made this an easy and very enjoyable process and I would highly recommend them and use them again. Our bathroom is everything we ever dreamed of and more thanks to the expertise that Matt provided and we couldn't be happier!! Thanks again Matt and crew!

Gutted entire bathroom down to the studs replaced wall board taped, spackled and finished walls Replaced tub, enclosure, vanity, light, medicine cabinet, vent fan, toilet, faucets, shower faucets tiled floor, new electric plugs new molding through out including crown molding. Painted entire bathroom installed mirror, towel rack, soap dish, tooth brush holder, Everything done with great attention to detail All his workers were very professional On time, courteous, and clean Would definitely use again and would recommend to all my friends. The master bath in our beach condo had a huge tub and tiny shower, so we wanted to increase the size of the shower. The reason we chose MO2 is because not only was Matt (and his crew) very professional and easy to work with, he was the only contractor we spoke to who offered design ideas as well. We ended up reconfiguring the bathroom per his suggestion in a way the made much more sense and didn't cost much more than if we had just left the layout but reduced the tub size and enlarged the shower. Matt was always on time and kept us updated regularly. I also liked the tile and fixture people he referred us to. Throughout the process, Matt offered different ideas of how to do things at different costs, and gave his opinion on where it made sense to spend money and where it did not (and I changed my mind on a couple of things during the process and he didn't "nickel and dime" us.) What made Matt really stand out is that we have a downstairs neighbor who is the type to "worry" about work being done and the effect it would have on her. Matt went out of his way to meet the neighbor on day one and was very cordial to her (he even helped her out with something for no charge.) During the period the work was being done, we were out of town and received a call that a pipe had burst and water was running into our neighbor's unit. - this had nothing to do with the work being done by MO2, as it was in a different part of the house and we had the same issue last year. Matt was out of town as well, but kindly sent one of his guys over to check the damage in both our unit and the neighbor's. As soon as Matt returned, he went to check on both units, and was not only willing to take care of repairing the damage at a very fair price at the same time he was working on the master bath, but he also has the patience of a saint. The neighbor was understandably very upset, but wanted to blame us for being negligent. He went out of his way to go talk to her and calm her down and assure her that the issue was that the people we hired last year to fix the problem did not do a proper job. Without Matt's professionalism and willingness to establish a good relationship with our neighbor, this issue would no doubt have been a much bigger headache for us. The master bathroom turned out beautifully and on budget It is now our favorite room in the house. The work done was very high quality. I would hire Matt again for any work we needed done and would not hesitate to highly recommend him to anyone else.

Matt & assistant did a great job installing Custom Kitchen Cabinets & Trim in our beach home. Matt fit me in to his very busy schedule and did an excellent job. I'm having him come back to tile downstairs bathroom. Would highly recommend him.

Matt is professional, organized, communicated, and stuck to the plan laid out in our meeting. The specialists (tiling, electric, plumbing) were efficient with their time to keep costs within parameters. The tile work was not simple, I wanted it to look great and this expectation was met. His team made sure to clean up at the end of the day to limit impact to the rest of the house. I had two DIY friends stop by during the process and at the end and they were very impressed with the quality of the quality of the tile and paint job. The cabinets were hung without any issues, specialized lighting and a TV was installed, followed by a very heavy marble countertops. Matt suggested a built-in center island with a wet bar - great idea. Of the five contractors I interviewed, MO2 was not the least expensive, but the quality of the end results justified the difference in cost. I will recommend MO2 to my friends and family looking to upgrade their kitchens.

mo2 did a complete gut renovation of a bathroom in our spring lake home. owner matt gave us a fixed price, help select the layout he assisted in the tile section with helpful suggestions.. he got us the contractor discount on all fixtures and tiles. the work was timely done and the work area and surrounding area were kept clean. matt delivered the work timely and with no issues or additional charges.. the bathroom came out better than even we expected. all plumbing, electric, tile and painting were well done. I would recommend mo2 on any interior construction work based on this work and would definitely use mo2 again

We couldn't be happier with the service Matt's company provided us. His crew ALWAYS arrived on time, ALWAYS performed top notch work, ALWAYS cleaned up, and ALWAYS did everything they could to make the whole process as painless as possible for us. Be sure to read all the A-rated reviews Matt has on Angie's list because they're all true. Our next remodel will be our master bathroom and we'll definitely be using Matt.

Matt is a craftsman and he was very easy to work with. He gave a fair price and we were able to discuss changes and adjustments throughout the job. He was open to my ideas and had some great ones of his own. The job was a big one and there are too many details to mention but I can say that he did not rush, especially when it came to things that needed patience, like my black and white porcelain tile laid on on a diagonal. He was meticulous. His trim carpentry is awesome. His employees are guys who have been with him for a while and they are honest and hardworking. I left all of them alone in my house pretty much most of the days they worked because I had to work. I never worried about anything and they were neat and respectful of my home. In fact I actually felt a sense of comfort knowing they were there. I have one sketchy neighbor on the street and they picked up on it right away and told me about activity that they observed. Most people wouldn't care one way or the other. Having no kitchen and having the house in chaos was stressful enough but they did the best they could to work with me on keeping things in shape. When the base cabinets were in and the marble counter was on order, Matt brought over a makeshift plywood counter with a drop in sink and hooked it up so that we could use the kitchen. It really made a difference, especially during the holidays, and I never would have thought to ask for such a thing. They hung plastic for sanding and painting so the dust wouldn't permeate the entire house. He oversaw the things that he did not directly do, like the countertop install, and he was very patient as I traveled all over NJ to find just the right slab of Carrera. He ensured that the edge and the size of the countertop overhang between the kitchen and living room were exactly what I wanted. Plumbing and electric were top quality. There are pictures of my kitchen on his facebook page. It's the one with the pale yellow walls, white cabinets, and black and white floor. There are probably alot more things I haven't even thought of but I think you get the overall picture. The work was quality and the few small corrections were immediately made without any fuss or drama. As I said we did negotiate as things went along for some extras but Matt was always fair and didn't quibble. He and his men did extras for the sake of quality and esthetics as the job developed because they improved the finished product. We are planning my master bath as we speak and I will post another review upon completion of that job as well.

Matt and his crew are professional, courteous and a pleasure to work with. I am definitely planning to have Matt work on my future projects.

Please note this review is written on behalf of my sister-in-law Stacey who has aphasia (difficulty with words due to stroke). The work was done in her house by Matt. Since I live only 5 min. from her, I can attest to the before, during and after of this reno.. Stacey had many contacted many contractors to work on her 2nd (en suite) bathroom It was outdated, the shower was leaking into the floor rendering it useless, the fixtures were old, the vinyl floor tiles and the bad lighting had to go! She decided to go with Matt after reading the positive reviews AND she felt comfortable after meeting with him. He was patient and took the time to answer her questions to her satisfaction and was very understanding of her aphasia and was very helpful in the decision making process in selecting materials, finishes and ideas. The entire bathroom was gutted to the studs, including the floor and ceiling. The only piece that was saved was the toilet which was fairly new and in good working order. From start to finish the process took less than 2 wks. A new modern glass shower was installed, with the tile & fixtures of Stacey's choice. Matt provided Stacey with paint choices and she made her selection. The drywall & ceiling were redone and a new tile floor was laid. In addition, Stacey selected & purchased the vanity of her choice, had new lighting, an exhaust fan with heat which Matt had his electrician install. The end result was beautiful!!! Throughout the entire process Matt was very professional, showed up on time on the appointed work days, worked neatly, always cleaning up at the end of each work day. All in all, Stacey was very pleased. It was a positive experience. His workmanship was excellent with careful attention to detail and pride in his work. Would definitely use Matt again & highly recommend

I had previously used MO2 Renovations to completely gut and renovate my upstairs hall bathroom and based on a positive experience, beautiful results, and a fair price (the price ended up matching Matt?s estimate exactly) I decided to engage MO2 for my kitchen renovation. This was also a complete gut job starting from bare studs. Matt helped us with the design and new layout which resulted in an open layout between the Kitchen and Dining Room and much bigger and more functional kitchen. I gutted the kitchen down to the studs and plywood subfloor and then Matt?s team took over. Matt?s team ran new electrical wiring (home runs) from the breaker panel to the new kitchen. His team installed new outlets, switches, lighting, etc. They also relocated all of the plumbing for the new kitchen layout. While the walls were open, Matt?s team noticed that there were structural issues in the walls and ceiling and also the main support wall on the outside of the building, over a set of sliding doors that we were removing. Matt?s team fixed all of the structural issues, replaced the sliding doors with windows, and cut a new exterior door into the new door location. Matt installed all new sheetrock including taping, spackling, sanding, and painting. In preparation for the new tile floor, I was concerned about the spongy subfloor and so Matt?s team replaced the entire subfloor in the kitchen, dining room, and adjacent family room. (about 700 sq feet total) In doing so, the guys noticed that there were several structural issues in the floor under the kitchen as well as under an alcove in the family room in which the alcove and bay window were sinking. They were able to fix all of the structural issues and install the new subfloor. Next they tiled the whole kitchen and dining room (about 400 Sq Feet) and installed and painted all of the trim including base trim, crown moulding, and casing for the doors and windows. Next they moved onto installing the cabinets, a large island, granite counter tops, and a breakfast nook between the kitchen and dining room. They installed an intricate glass mosaic backsplash for the whole kitchen which went all the way to the ceiling in the area behind the range hood. MO2 also installed the new appliances, including a range hood over the stove and microwave in the island. The job came out beautiful and I feel like whenever we encountered extras (structural problems) Matt only charged me enough to cover his costs. All of our friends and family love our kitchen and we have had people refer to it as a ?magazine kitchen?. Matt included all materials except for the new appliances, light fixtures, and the kitchen faucet. The labor and materials that Matt provided cost us $40,000. We are extremely happy with M02 and really liked all of Matt?s employees. (who by the way are all American) We will definitely use MO2 again and I would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.

Project went very well. Matt did not rush the joint compounding of the seams. He came back 3 times to sand and apply more compound in order to make sure the seams were perfect for painting. Each time he covered the area and cleaned up so that there was no trace of dust. This was especially important to us because my wife suffers from COPD. He also worked to make sure that the paint used on the trim work matched the color of my existing cabinetry. This is the third major project in which we've used MO 2 Renovations as our contractor and would not hesitate to use him in the future. They are highly recommended.

Matt was an absolute professional throughout a very difficult process. We needed to move our older family member out of their home when we discovered structural issues, water damage, and the immediate need to renovate. Getting the project done correctly and quickly was very important; additionally I was managing the project from 90 miles away and could not be at the house often. Matt communicated with me many times a week, and during critical phases he communicated several times a day, so I always knew what was happening. When the project began we did not know there was so much water damage to the external walls. When this was discovered Matt did not miss a beat. He immediately evaluated the situation, called me and emailed photos, worked up a very fair price for the additional work and tackled the rebuild of the walls quickly. Whenever we came up against an obstacle or decision to be made, and there were quite a few of them, Matt had great suggestions and gave us great guidance so we could solve the problem and move forward without losing too much time. We could not be happier with the quality of work throughout the house. Matt is a real craftsman. From the expertly installed floor tile, to the invisible dry wall seams, everything is perfect. Matt also went above and beyond in trying to make the process easier for us, to the point that he waited for delivery of appliances so I would not have to make the trip to the house. He also found a landscaper for us that did excellent work and he coordinated the landscaper's access and schedule. I cannot say enough positive things about Matt and the quality of his work.

I couldn't be happier. Mat and his crew are awesome. I found them to be extremely professional and their workmanship is that of true craftsmen. Matt and his crew were professional, courteous, and highly skilled. They always showed up when expected and the project was executed very smoothly. The results are exactly what we wanted and the price matched the initial estimate to the dollar. Matt is nice to do business with and he also provided helpful design guidance and creative ideas during the planning. They were personable but totally lacked professionalism. Didn't show then said the book of our measurements was taken from his car. Then he was supposed to let the tile person know I was coming and give the tile guy our measurements. We got there and he didn't have anything, he wasn't even there we had to wait. A total waste of my time. We went with someone we could rely on.

They installed the vanity cabinets, floor, shower floor and wall tile. Special attention was given to applying a bladder to prevent water from penetrating the shower bench and wall.
