Repeat customer who has been mistreated. Scheduled a pellet stove service appointment and had to wait a couple of months. The pellet stove was installed a few year prior by Armstrong. Stove was fully functional when tech arrived and when work was wrapped up the stove didn’t work. Tech on his way out mentioned the office would reach out to me with next steps. Dealing with single digits temperatures out door any little thing helps and now have a broken stove that doesn’t work. Two days later I hadn’t heard from their office so I sent an email inquiring what the next steps were. The admin responded stating the operations manager had our paperwork on his desk and that I am on the list. A day after that I decided to call for some information and admin gave me more of the same stating “work order is on my bosses desk, he will get back to you in a couple of days”. After persistence on my part I decided to track down the ops manager and he gave me a long story on why they weren’t communicating and basically stated again I wasn’t top priority. As a customer you shouldn’t feel like you are bothering a business that you just spent a ton of money on to get something fixed that now doesn’t work. Armstrong years ago was different and today my experience is very sour. Maybe too much business has impacted their customer service? Maybe new employee vetting is the issue? Maybe it’s the management? It’s sad to see customer service like this. Please beware.. you will reach out for help and you may or may not get it. Pay quoted money now but you’ll be back burnered the moment something else comes along.

"This customer was fully aware their stove had issues and did not function. On the intial call into our office the customer claimed the stove would randomly shut off, over heat and the control board was broken. All incomming phone calls are recorded, so this is a statement of fact not opionion. On 1/12/2022 the same technician that installed the stove originally, replaced the control board and performed a full cleaning of the stove. The stove was started and was observed to run through all basic cycles. Later that same day the customer called, requesting that we return as the stove shut off. Armstrong dispatched the same technician, the same day and performed an additional service on the stove to determine what was causing the overheating. The techncian noted that the convection blower, which removes heat from the stove was not performing to specifications and required replacement. A quote for a replacement convection fan was given to the customer on 1/14/2022, two days later. Armstrong is happy to provide the customer with the recorded conversation from their intial call into our office, where he clearly explains that the stove shuts off randomly, that he needs to reset the high limit switch, the request to replace the broken control board and their request for cleaning. Again, fully acknowleding that this stove had issues running before we arrived. Armstrong would also be happy to provide the recording of the phone call into our office on 1/13/2022. During this phone call the customer verbally assults our female office manager while making threats of using his "goverment access and software" to find the personal details and cell phone numbers of our employees, which he did in fact do. This is a blatent abuse of power and Armstrong will be making an inquiry about this to his employer or his contract holder. They will be made aware that this individual is using their software to threaten and harass a private companie and it's employees."

They were excellent. The price charged was actually lower than the price quoted. Time frame was spot on. They were professional and courteous. Excellent experience all the way around. They will be hired again for future needs.

I am new on our Board and I am using companies from those that did excellent work before for our association. We had 2 other options that I was willing to contact but my thoughts were, "why change a good thing". I have records going back maybe 12 years or so and Armstrong was the only company our association used. I suggested to the board that for reliable companies that did excellent work for us in the past, I would like to bypass the usual requirement of 3 estimates as we would have no history on 2 of them. The idea was approved and I hired Armstrong for our recent dryer vent cleanings in the Association. Their work last week was excellent and we could not have had a friendlier and more professional group to work with. In 8 cases out of our 18 units, additional "inside access to the dryer vent was necessary" and we agreed to have Armstrong come back and complete the cleanings at a small additional price. The prices were better than fair in my opinion and obviously, Armstrong represents itself well in the areas of punctuality, efficiency, price, cleanliness and doing the job well. I'm pleased. The remainder of the board is pleased and the only comments I have received from residents were positive. I trust Armstrong and I hope for a continued, long association. They are also licensed here in NH which is a new requirement for our attorney (and me) and I received their certificates within 2 days of requesting them. Overall, great company. I wish all companies for home repairs/maintenance were as pleasant to deal with. The "Cost listed below includes 18 homes with supplemental inside work for 7 units.

In 2017 companies need to embrace the "millenial" instant gratification crowd, or be consumed by it. I got fast responses, and a quote over the phone from basic information I provided. These guys think of EVERYTHING and let you know exactly what to expect. Everything was done exactly as promised. Timely and professional. Personally I appreciated how sales followed up with me because I am very busy but they made it really easy. I also felt like they cared about my job not just putting another sale on the board. I had gotten multiple quotes, and by choosing Armstrong, I got DOUBLE the stove for the same money because they don't price gouge you on labor. The technician was very knowledgeable. Rich and Devan were a pleasure to work with.

Came on this me. Guys were very professional. Walked me thru the process then started to work. I checked in on them a few times and they explained what they were doing. The process took about 4 hours. At the end, I got to see some pictures of before and after cleaning. Overall I am happy with the results, although pricy.

The estimate was 2600 which is already high for installation of a new liner. after liner was installed, they charged me $200 more for fixing rusted smoke pipes. Later on I found the rusted pipes are still there. they just turned the rust side inward so they are hidden from the view. Not only that, they want to charge me $700 more to finish the job like seal the holes they opened, which is supposed to be part of the original estimate.
Response from Armstrong Duct, Vent, Hearth & Home
"Your chimney was constructed improperly and had pieces inside the chimney that needed to be removed in order to finish the work. In our original proposal we informed you that this may be an issue. The original pipe was re-used until our return visit, which you never scheduled."

We were concerned that the chimney was backed up on our wood stove (primary source of heat). Called them

and they squeezed us in at the end of the day. Sure enough, it was clogged. We were very appreciative that

they came with such short notice.

The team showed up a few minutes early and proceeded to do a walkthrough of the house with me. They took off their shoes immediately which was a nice touch of professionalism and courtesy. Once the walkthrough was complete, they provided me the quote and explained the entire process. They proceeded to work through the house and took excellent care to maintain cleanliness while the hose were brought through the home. They put down numerous clean drop cloths where the hose went and took care not to scrape the hose against the walls. Each and every time they went in the house they took their shoes off. The work was done in about 6 hours and when completed, our ducts were like new. Given it is a new construction, there was a ton of sheetrock, sawdust, and plaster in the vents, but after they were done, they were gleaming. Outstanding work and professionalism. We will be hiring them on a regular basis.

They were recommended by condo association, to cleaning our dryer vents and if we had multiple people the price would be lower. Original they did not give us the discount but did adventually when someone called. After the service was performed and question why the did not clean the vent from outside, they informed us they do not do that. They vent trap from outside are still filled with lint and looking to find another company to do this. Moved washer and dryer marked up wall and were put back incorrectly.
Response from Armstrong Duct, Vent, Hearth & Home
"Sadly due to the height restrictions this dryer vent cleaning cleaning could only be performed from the inside of the home. Without visiting a property first it is extremely difficult for our company to determine if we can access a vent or not."

I received a preliminary quote via email based upon the information I provided.
The actual was a bit higher simply because I did not count all of the vents accurately.

The customer service was excellent. Prompt replies to questions. Called the house the day before and the morning of service to confirm. Service technicians arrived at the correct time. Performed a walk through and asked very good questions. Were very professional. They estimated 6.5 to 7.0 hours of work and actually performed the service in 7.0. Everything was left as if no one was even there.

I would highly recommend this organization to others.

The guy's name is Joseph Macdonald. We spent about $700 on that service. A couple of guys came out and did the work and they were nice, professional and it was all business. They were punctual and the work went well. It was an emergency situation for something real quick, so we did not really have much to compare their price to. One reason we went with them was because with cleaning we read a lot about scams and stuff, but they had NADCA certification. That means that they clean the ducts in a certain way, so that was important to us. We may get other quotes to compare with the next time we need to use this type of service.
