They keep getting worse. I bought a new laptop at Bestbuy and brought in my old computer to the Geek Squad so they could transfer 1000s of personal photos accumlated over the years. I paid the $100 to transfer my photos from my old computer to the new laptop. They scheduled me to come in to pickup the new computer. They brought my new computer out and went though the PS program I bought and hired Geek to installed. When I had asked if all my photos got transfer ok, and I got a blank stare in response. They had no record I paid for and ordered the transfer. So, I ask where my old computer was? Another blank stare and stomach sunk. I requested he check the back room to find it. He came back out and said I didn't have an old computer anywhere. They sent another clerk to check around the store and che couldn't find it. I had no proof that I had actually brought it in and they agreed. So, another guy starting looking at surveillance footage for the time of my appointment was scheduled the day before. Yet again, empty handed, so I left the store in disbelief these clowns lost ALL my photos!! I had no recourse. 1 hr later, they call and say it was found in the backroom. No apologizes, no reason, lack of compassion. When I came back in the store, they completely played it down saying rudely they did not see it as a problem since they found it and I was out of line for getting mad. Never again, ever! The manager was a pimple faced kid that looked around 16yrs old. Save your money and poor customer service. Avoid at all costs.
Description of Work: Transfer photo files from my old computer to the new laptop I bought at Best Buy. All was fine until they told me they didn't know anything about transferring files I paid $100 for and no record of me dropping off my old computer. Not what a customer whats to hear, especially since I had thousands of photos spanning 30 years on that computer. Asked what I could do about it, they shrugged they're shoulders, like, how should we know, we don't even know if you dropped it off. I left the store pisssd and beyond frustration. These group of clowns lost all my prized photos and took zero responsibility nor compassion for my loss. One hour after I left the store they called and said they found it in the back room. No apologies, no explanations, and they were quite rude about asking what's the issue, we found it. I'll spend my money elsewhere.

It went well. They quoted me their price over the phone (price list was on the counter when I came in), took my hard drive, back up drive and labeled it carefully. They called me one day later to tell me that they had completed my work and reported that they had no difficulties, retrieved everything that I asked for plus some videos that I had forgotten and that the entire process only took two hours. Its slightly expensive but there were no surprises, complaints, upcharges or headaches. This was the second time that I've used their service with the same high quality result.
Description of Work: They retrieved all of my data, favorites and email from my hard drive after my computer wouldn't start.

I purchased a Bose surround sound system and television from Best Buy. I did not have them install it. The staff was very helpful and answered any questions I had. The store is very well staffed and is consistent every time I go in. I feel the prices are competitive and they have good sales.
