Lineberry Painting

Great! I'm from out of state and felt I would be taking a big chance hiring a contractor without a referal so I decided to look into Angies List. That was a good decision. I not only felt more confident in searching for my contractor, I was fortunate to have selected Lineberry Painting Contractors. The owner, Haywood Lineberry showed up as proposed and wasted no time getting down to business. Haywood was professional, fast, courteous. He did a great job and finished ahead of schedule. I would definitely recommend this contractor.

After receiving multiple quotes, I decided to award the contract to Haywood Lineberry Painting. Haywood was always curtieous and punctuial as he arrived for work on the day that we had set to start. Haywood completed the work in a timely manner and performed the work to my satisfaction. I would use them again.

I contacted Mr. Haywood after a previously scheduled painter cancelled on me the day of and thank God for that! Mr. Haywood came in that same day and completed the work with his team. I was impressed with their professionalism and detailed work. I wish I could bring them to VA to paint my primary residence too!! Call these guys first!!

This was a wonderful experience. When I met Haywood I knew he would give my house that extra something that separates excellent from good. I was right. As it was the outside of the house it wasn't intrusive and didn't interfere with my work--I work from home and was on a deadline. I have had my decks power washed before. They never came out like this. Though he lives an hour away he was never late, never complained, nor did the painter or painters he had with him. Heard none of those fake grunting sounds house workers love to make! My house looks new! Everybody who has come into the house leaves attitude and bad moods at the door as they love the paint job so much. It went from mousy drab to super-bright beachy! I love it and am convinced Lineberry Paint was the reason! It's not easy going from black trim to white. Most of it looks great. There are some places that need touch ups and Haywood will be back at the end of the week. I know I can trust him.

Great experience. They were very prompt with their response to my initial call, and always showed up when they were scheduled to show up. When I asked them to look over the results, they came back, touched everything up without question, and overall the result is great. I would recommend them!

Mr Lineberry and his crew painted the exterior of our house and stained our decks. Mr Lineberry was very efficient in returning our calls and providing an estimate. The crew showed up exactly when they said they would to do the work. They were very professional and the work was done really well. We are pleased and wouldn't hesitate to use them again!

It went great. He worked for about a day total split into two days. We had to wait a few days between when he started and finished but that was do to three days of heavy thunder storms rain that prevented his finishing the staining . Not his fault.

I had used Haywood, his son & nephew previously to paint the exterior and this was my first experience with his brother (Steve?). The first coat of paint on the cabinets was extremely amateurish and not at all satisfactory. Besides being brushed (instead of rolled as promised) the doors were not taken off as promised. There were missed spots, brush strokes, and paint slopped on the hinges. Worse was the paint smeared on the stainless steel appliances and paint drops all over the floor and granite counter tops. Do not let Haywood's brother do any work at your place! He is totally incompetent as a painter - and creepy with the look of a home less person. Haywood took over the next day and promised to make it right - and he did. Originally the estimate was for $600, but he insisted on $400 "for the inconvenience and aggravation." Haywood is indeed a gentleman who values his reputation - and his customer's satisfaction.

It went exactly as Mr. Lineberry said it would. He power washed our home, filled carpenter bee holes (our exterior is cedar) and used a more than a case of caulk, and then began the painting. We couldn't believe how fast the job went and the transformation was stunning!

They showed up on time every day and worked their butts off, and were very courteous and professional. Mr. Lineberry estimated the job would take a week, but they actually finished early! And even after they were finished, Mr. Lineberry asked me to send him a punch list of anything we felt needed attention, and he'd come out to fix it, and he did! (We felt the door could use another coat of paint, and Haywood came out the very next day to apply it with no argument.) My husband and I are so thrilled with the job they did that we're going to ask them to come back and do some additional work. And the price was definitely right; after receiving estimates from three other contractors, Lineberry Painting came in at almost half the price as the others. We can't thank them enough for our beautiful new home.

Nice guy and the price was great, but I have to grade it as a D. First, I will say the bedroom paint job is perfect, no defects. In the other rooms everything looked good. Then I noticed a couple of big paint drips on the wall and the chair railings weren?t completely covered. I called him and he came right away. It still looks the same. While moving furniture, I found places in the wall where the old paint is showing through. A few baseboards were left untouched or partially painted. Sloppy job in some areas. No clean lines with several places painted with one coat. I?m not a perfectionist, but I do expect a good job. I won?t call him to fix the problems. I?m not satisfied with how he did the first time. Too bad. Nice guy.

When I called him he set up a time and came over immediately. He is very nice, funny, and very professional. He looked over the whole house and gave me an estimated which I immediately accepted. He always, always called me if anything changed. He was always on time. They came in and went right to work. They put cloths down and kept things as clean and neat as possible and would even vacuum behind the beds if I wasn't there to do it. He finished the job when he said he would. He helped me so much and if I didn't like the color he would go get more paint until I was happy. I highly recommend him and will definitely use him again when needed.

Mr Lineberry and his son are very nice guys but their approach to painting our house was very unprofessional with it seems, no respect to other people's personal property. In the course of a week, they broke a 3'x6' mirror in the master bath, broke an irregation faucet pipe, was found standing on a uncovered washer and dryer to paint the laundry room, scratched a vanity by putting paint cans and sharp scraping tools on it without covering it first, put paints cans on the kitchen counters without covering them, got paint splatters a cabinets, faucets, vanities, floors, and overpaint on the ceiling when we had not planned on painting the ceiling. All in all it was a bad experience until we terminated the contract. When I told Mr Lineberry why we were terminating his contract his response was "you know this is a construction site?". My response is it is also our home that we just purchased. Subsequent to him being asked to cease and leave, I have had two other professional painters provide estimates to fix/complete the work and both said "I hope you did not pay this guy any money." Unfortunatel, I did pay him $1200 out of the total of $3,250.

Haywood Lineberry is a super awesome painter and individual. He is a perfectionist and does all he includes in his estimate and even more. He completes all work in a timely manner and is open to questions and is very honest in his opinions and suggestions. His son, Jacob, is also a fine young man and does very nice work. Haywood and son are both excellent painters, gentlemen, and a pleasure to work with. I would definitely hire him to do any painting job and would not hesitate to recommend him. He brush painted the exterior of my house, two coats, and used top quality Benjamin Moore paint after first pressure washing and caulking at a very reasonable price. I now have the greatest looking house in my neighborhood!

We were pleased with the efficiency and courtesy of Mr. Lineberry and his son. Tjey showed up on time and finished much quicker than we expected. We will behiring them again.

He seems to be a really down to earth guy. Our experience has been pleasant so far. He asks if he should do this or do that, he has been very prompt, and he cleans up really well at the end of the day.

My front door was repainted in a professional manner, and it was very inexpensive.

I found Haywood on Angies's List. Called hime to get an estimate. He came promptly. His estimate was very reasonable. We hired him and he delivered as promised. We're very happy with his price and his work.

On the phone and in person, Mr. Lineberry is extremely courteous and professional. He came to my house and looked at each room and did just what I asked. He gave me a price for each one separately so I could pick and choose which rooms I wanted to paint. He told me he would charge me $25/hour to remove the wallpaper, mainly because he didn't know if it was installed properly and didn't know how long it would take. I was fortunate that whoever installed the wallpaper did it properly and that part of the job only took 7 hours. I was apprehensive about being charged by the hour, but from what I could tell they were always hard at work. At first he just gave me the estimates for the rooms and I wrote them on the back of the card. When I said I would be more comfortable if he would e-mail me the prices so I would have them in writing, he didn't hesitate to do so and I had an e-mail later that evening confirming the prices we had discussed. I hired Mr. Lineberry about a week later. He showed up on time every day and was not disruptive to my schedule at all. I walked through every 30 minutes to an hour just to see how progress was going and he was always very nice. I never felt like he was offended that I was checking up on him. And when I pointed things out that I didn't like or that I thought were different from what we had discussed, he was always on top of it. I felt very good about having him working on my home. He was very careful with my things. Two things I did not like, which were really not that big a deal to me, but might be for other people, were, first, that he did not ask me in advance which finishes I wanted for each room. I would have preferred to have a satin finish in the kitchen and the bathroom, but he didn't ask and I forgot to check before he bought the paint. Ultimately, it was too late when I thought about it, but I also wasn't going to throw a fit over it. It just wasn't that important to me. But if it's important to you, you should remember to ask in advance. Second, he took twice as long as he said he would in the original estimate. Ultimately, this didn't bother me very much. He does fantastic work! And I would much rather have him take longer and get it right than rush and do a sloppy job. He cleans up after himself and touches up any trim that he accidentally gets paint on. He is very thorough and I appreciate that. Also, I partially felt like it was my fault that the job took longer that he expected because I said I would take the wallpaper off myself, but I was unable to do it in advance because of illness. So I called him a week out and asked him if he would be able to handle it for me. That added an entire day all by itself and I think might have bumped up against another job in his schedule which meant that he couldn't spend as much time the last few days working on my house. So I don't blame him at all for that. He did a great job and I would hire him again in a flash.

They were great. I would recommend them to anybody. They were very friendly, helpful, and easy to get along with. I rate them high overall.

The job was completed on two consecutive days and went exactly as planned. Our experience with Mr. Lineberry was excellent and we are completely satisfied. He was extremely courteous, professional in every way and paid attention to detail for a complete and extremely clean job. The quality of work was superb and very reasonable. He does great work, completes it on time at the estimated cost and stands behind the finished product. We will use him again and highly recommend him to others. DO's: Do take advantage of his long term experience and expertise in this humid climate and his willingness to completely describe how best to complete the job (start to finish) with options that the customer may exercise (number of coats, quality of paint, new paint products on the market) DON'Ts: Don't skimp on the quality or amount of paint used for the job ... we all agreed this was to be a high quality, long lasting job.

Haywood painted some of my interior and exterior. They did a great job, were prompt, friendly, and very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend their services, and I would use them again.
