I was relatively happy. After ten years the driveway still looks good. Communication was a little of an issue. They picked up after themselves. They left is as it was before they started working. I don't recall any problems with when they showed up.

They cover all the project needs unlike other companies. I did also a parking lot and did everything which was nice. The quality of work is great, the price is reasonable.

We've had a lot of issues with them along the way. My husband had to take days off at work to babysit them and make sure the work was done. It was a disaster from the start. The first day when we got the estimate, I just have a good feeling with Jay, he was easy to work with, he kind of understood what I wanted and what we are looking for. On the first day that the work was started, the guys came and ring the bell and they said, "we're supposed to be putting a retaining wall," like they had no idea. Jay didn't come with them on the first day to instruct them on what to do so I was dumbfounded. and ldquo; You got to be kidding me; you don't know what you are doing here?and rdquo; The wall actually wasn't even done properly. They had to take the cabinet down and redo the brick wall. My husband had to take several days off work to supervise them. Jay never showed up on the job so it was like, "we will not pay you 1 penny until you get over here and see what the guys had left off." He was great with the estimate, all smoothy, all nice but he never set foot on our property once to do the job, fix the job and tell the guys what to do. It was just a disaster. They weren't the cheapest or the most expensive. If anyone ever calls us about them, we would tell them to stay clear from them.

Up-front the job went well and the quality of work was excellent.

There were a series of rain storms that slowed work during this particular installation so, times may not be representative of similar jobs during fair weather. The team spent four days removing trees, grading earth, removing stumps, and spreading under-laymen gravel. Brick installation took an additional three work days. Finish work and cleanup took one day. From start to finish the work was completed in just over two weeks.

The quality of work was excellent. The owner, Jay, stopped by every day that workers were there. The site foreman was professional, informative and responsive our day to day needs. During idle times, the site was picked up and left in a state of reasonable organization.

The cost was very reasonable. In comparison to other bids, we took seven in total, Jay's was one up from being the least expensive and about $900 below the median price. From the time of commitment to the start of work was about four weeks. We paid just under 60% before work started and the remainder after final inspection.

The only negative was the rolling damage caused by the equipment crossing back and forth in the front yard. While guard boards were laid down, the number of trips and weight of material left a path of damaged grass and compressed soil that later on had to be aerated. The fix for this was under $100 and the yard has since revived and looks fine. In our judgment this was a predictable side affect that could have been mentioned up front but still, to make an omelet one does have to break a few eggs.

We received four bids. Jays was above the two lower bids but much lower than the highest. His company offered the most service for the dollars spent. With his initial quote Jay stated that he had work scheduled for 5 weeks before he could get to us. After 2 rainy weeks we were still 5 weeks out.

I had to get a city permit to dig through the and quot;right-of-wayand quot; and to connect into the (city) storm drain. That process was a bit of a pain, but was worth it.

The actual work was fairly smooth. The(clay) soil was soggy. The workers arrived about 11:00 a.m. and dug the trench etc.

They had to wait a couple of hours for the drainpipe.(apparently had not preordered and had to go distance to a second source) Completed backfill and seeding just as it got dark. (8:30 pm)

After a couple of weeks, there was sinking in three areas. Jays came back and filled and reseeded those areas.

We are pleased with the end results.

Jay's guys came when they said they would, worked diligently and professionally. The lead guy was very knowledgable and kept me aware of what was going on at all times.

The grass was cut regularly and his price was fair for the service provided. It was the extra jobs we requested when his price shot up. We had some low ridges in our grass and the lawn mower would cut too close leaving long and quot;scalpedand quot; places. Jay suggested filling in those low ridges with topsoil assuring us that the grass would grow through it. We commissioned him to fill in those ridges. The cost was $230, but the amount of and quot;topsoiland quot; he sold us was not only inadequate to fill all the ridges, but it was of inferior quality (it contained a lot of sand and some bits of glass and pebbles). We sent a note to Jay and told him we would set out a sample of the and quot;soiland quot; out for him to see, but he never came by to look at it, nor did he offer to adjust the price for what he did.
I might add that Jay only cut the grass. He did not offer services for weed control and aerating. So my advice would be if you use Jay to cut grass, get someone else for landscaping services.

Everything went perfectly, there was a bit of a delay due to weather but once they started, they worked until it was completed. Everything looks great and the French drain has been a life saver this year. The Back yard is the best it has looked in a long time.
I will call them again this fall for shrub trimming and to put down a fresh layer of mulch.

With Jay's Lawn and Landscaping Service already listed on Angie's List, we knew that their service would be be a good bet. After contacting them, we received a quote for the trimming of our 3 crape myrtles, 1 large holly and 1 hardwood tree (which included the removal of all trimmings). Other services performed was the tilling of part of our front lawn, reseeding and later fertilization of grass. The bottom line is that we were very pleased with their service including their professionalism, promptness and followups. We plan to sign them up to trim all our shrubs twice a year for 2013. We highly recommend them.

No complaints. Did what we expected. Had one instance of flowers that I didn't like, and they switched them out for me.

They showed up on time and the work was done in a timely manner. They worked until they finished so there wasn’t a period of time when things sat undone. There was one hiccup with the steps coming out of the house but they worked with us to find a solution that was agreeable and within code.

I cancelled the project halfway through because my financial situation changed, and they were some what expensive. The bookkeeping was also a mess. I think that they were very professional the Jay was very responsive himself, but I was really looking for more of an organic approach. I thought I was getting a more customized service, but I wasn't. They would also just appear and they did not tell me when they were coming. They left me an invoice telling me that I owed more money, so we had to go around with the bookkeeping. They are good but expensive. They were not as organized as I would of hoped.

They are a little expensive, but they do a good job. In the past, they have completed landscaping, pulling weeds and trimming bushes for an additional cost. I have used their services for eight years, so they just automatically schedule me each season. I use them from the spring to the fall. A few of my neighbors began using them as well.

THIS COMPANY IS EXCELLENT AND ALWAYS DOES A GREAT JOB. THEY ARE VERY PUNCTUAL AND GET THINGS DONE QUICKLY. THEY ALSO WARN US IF THE CHEMICALS THEY USED COULD BE DANGEROUS TO OUR HEALTH; THAT WAY WE KNOW TO STAY AWAY FROM THE LAWN.
