Thank you for the review. This young lady is an Angie's List vendor's worst nightmare. The price I quoted her was exactly what was charged. I quoted $85.00 service call inspection fee, $50.00 for bat removal, $100.00 per vent to screen if one man can do it with a 40 ft ladder and $150.00 per vent for 2 men if it is unsafe for one man, $50.00 per vent to clean from the inside. She said she had two vents and one vent to clean the guano and one vent may take two people. I said the price would be $385.00 to $435.00 and that would be dependent on the vent (one or two men). The final invoice was $435.00, She called when she received the bill and said I told her $300.00 total. I reminded her of what I told her the 1st phone call of my prices. She said I was right but she would not pay the $435.00 because it was not told to her when we came out the first time. She would only pay the $385.00 and if I did not agree she would leave me a bad review on Angie's List and take me to the consumer services board and see what I would have to pay her like she did the other contractors. I said I will not be paying you anything. She said the inspector only paid her $300.00 for the bat job and they were having chronic issues with this foreclosed home with the leaking toilets and pipes and ruined hardwood floors and it was costing more money than they thought. She then said that the communication with my company was the worst of all of her Angie's List vendors and that I was ignoring her. There were 10 phone calls between her and I, 16 emails between us and the inspector called me 4 times wanting to know why I was doing this to him by writing a report and taking pictures for her to use against him (I did not charge for pictures nor reports) I was asked to do this after the inspection and did not realize the intent of the report. I do not even know this guy or know why he was given my contact information. He said he wanted to just pay her and just "hopefully make her go way" because it was not worth the effort or time and she was so hard to accommodate. I do not understand why he was being made to pay for the bat exclusion on the entire house. I understand him paying $50.00 for the clean up of the vent but not the entire house. This is not even his field of work He is not licensed to comment on wildlife damage or termites just like I cannot comment on structural damage, electrical or plumbing issues without proper licensing when doing it for hire. After the thinly veiled threats, she did not get the response she was expecting from me. I told her that she was "to needy for the work she wanted done". I will stand by my comment. She said I better be very careful of what I say to her and she has never been spoken to like that by any business person and that she does work for "very high end clients". Not sure what that means?? I offered to come back and make anything right she was not pleased with and that I would reduce the bill to $385.00 as she wished. I called back after the weekend and reiterated that we would come back if needed, just please call and schedule. Her husband called and paid the invoice and said that you very much for the work and I said thank you for the opportunity to do the work. I understand her thinking a "D" for a review reflects how our business of 20 years operates but I beg to differ. We are polite and conscientious and keep competitive prices. I think some of the other reviews list the prices as I did above. The prices are all the same on a "normal" wildlife removal job, the prices do not vary. When I price the job I will have no idea where the house is located or if it is low income property or a high end property. The prices are all the same exactly as she was quoted. There was no deviation. I will still warranty my work for her and help with any issues with the work we did at her residence.Service Provider Response
The customer is always right. [Member name removed] failed to mention that he and his wife called me four different times in 2 hours about the squirrel in the fireplace on Sunday night. I spoke to her twice and him twice. The number in which I returned the call from to his wife originally was my personal cell phone. I have a call forward to my personal cell phone after hours for emergencies and this is listed nowhere. My price was the same each time, $150.00, which was an $85.00 service call and a $65.00 removal for the animal or animals. The fourth call came through and I said, we just spoke 20 minutes ago and I have you on my schedule for 9:00 a.m. It was obvious that he was shopping, which is fine. So I tried explaining to [member name removed] that I would remove him from my schedule for the 9:00 a.m. time because if he called and cancelled that morning, then I would lose his work and any other person I could have scheduled for that time slot. I quote, " I am not playing this damn game with you" was his reply. I answered again, please call me if you find no one to remove your squirrel. I was very matter of fact but not rude at all.Angi Certified
