I purchased the coupon. I received a call that night and we scheduled for the next week. They showed up on time and went straight to work, hanging crown molding in two of my rooms. Their work was perfect, they were very professional, left the rooms neat and made the most of the time I purchased- I would recommend and hire again.

The workers arrived on time, were courteous & professional, and did a fine job as far as I can tell. It hasn't rained since they did the work, so the gutters haven't had a stress test yet. Our only complaint is that we were charged a $25 "Travel Fee" because we were a few tenths of a mile outside of their service area. The worst part was we were not told that in advance when we made the appointment. Only when the work was done and I was writing out the check did they spring that extra cost on us. Also, we contracted for up to 4 hours of work (2 people for 2 hours), and the 2 men finished the job in 1 hour. And that's fine, but I would think that free hour could have balanced out the travel fee.
Description of Work: All of our gutters needed to be tightened up against the house, and some nails needed to be replaced with screws.

We used Triangle Home Care. We were very please with the results. They did wood rot restoration of a wood deck, windowsills, and a front porch. All the projects were done in the prescribed about of time. They were prompt and professional. The restoration work was outstanding. The quality was as good or better than the original woodwork. I would hire them again without reservation.
Description of Work: Wood rot restoration of a wood deck, windowsills, and a front porch.
Greg was right on time and had a great attitude even though he was sick with a cold. He did the work efficiently and took the time to explain things I had questions about as a homeowner, including advice on projects outside the scope of the initial visit. Even though we didn't use the entire time (6 hours) specified in the coupon, I do feel like I paid a reasonable price (about $50 an hour) for more than 3 hours of window and roof weatherproofing and wood rot repair. I had no idea we would be done so quickly and wish I had purchased more supplies for one more project, but he indicated he would work with me on a time to come back and address the deck pieces I wanted replaced. Positive experience, and I would recommend this service.
Description of Work: I needed some routine maintenance on siding and around windows, caulking, replacing small rotted trim, etc.

I purchased a $149.00 roof inspection and minor repair package for 2 people up to 2 hours. The inspection was completed in about 20 minutes. I was charged for caulk which I thought was included in the advertisement. I didn't get a positive feeling that much of an inspection was completed.

The workers arrived at 8:15am for an appointment that was scheduled for 7:30am. (FYI, they left at 10:45 am.) I am pleased with half of the work they did: Replacing some rotted external wood at the bottom of a bay window. I am very unhappy with the work they did to replace a partially rotted sill at the bottom of a side door leading into the mud room at my house. The wood they used is an inch narrower than it should be (see photos 1 & 2 below). That has resulted in an open gap at the bottom of the storm door; that will allow water to easily get in under the storm door. Also, whatever work they did resulted in the storm door now not closing properly; thus the worker removed the strike-plate entirely from the door-frame and the door bolt now "closes" by latching onto the storm-door frame. They also broke the external door handle (see photo 3). [I chose to let Triangle Home Care provide the materials, I.e., the wood, to make these repairs. When the workers arrived and I told them that I wishes them to provide the materials, since they had the expertise to know what was required, the lead repairman said, "This may be your lucky day! Looks like I have wood on the truck that will work. You'll need to pay for it, but I don't think you want me to use your time by going to Lowes." I agreed, again because I trusted him as the "expert." I didn't watch him do the repair, and now I wish I had, for it would have been apparent that the wood he was using to replace the rotted door sill was an inch shorter than the wood he was replacing. When I pointed this out, he told me that I told him not to go to Lowes. I responded that HE told me he had the wood to do the job in his truck! Of course I would have asked him to go to Lowes if that was what was required to do the job correctly! To add insult to injury, I paid $30 for the wood they used to repaid the window-sill and the door-sill.] After the workers left, I took photographs of the problem with the door-sill; I then called Triangle Home Care, and emailed them describing the problem, including the photos I had taken. Vickie from THC called back to say that they would not return to correct the problem. She indicated that they would be willing to reimburse me $30 for the broken door-handle on the storm door. I told her that I was less interested in a reimbursement for the broken door handle and more interested in having the work done correctly. She said they would not return to correct the work.
Description of Work: 1) Replaced part of a rotted window sill. 2) Replaced a partially rotted door sill.

I want to first take responsibility that I was not able to be at the house when they came. I had something come up and could not be there. My adult daughter was there. So I had them still come out. Triangle Home Care arrived on time and was very courteous. The crew communicated well with me (calling before and after job. They even included some wood for free since they had to cut it rather than having one piece (although other worker I talked to said at a discount). Having said all that, I do have one significant issue I would like to address. Before I bought this special Angie’s list package for 6 hours, I called Triangle home care and talked to the receptionist in the office. She was courteous and informative. I asked her about the 6 hours and she said there would be two people for 3 hours. She said if I did not have everything all ready for them, they would inspect and find what needed fixing and go to lowe’s or home depot. I asked about them having to go to go get the wood because I was concerned about 2 people going to get wood would take too much time of the 6 hours and leave little time to do the work. She assured me one would stay behind and starting working pulling wood and the other would go to lowe’s or home depot since one of those is usually within 5 minutes or so (which we have both 3-4 miles away). IT WAS NOT UNTIL I TALKED TO HER AND RECEIVED THAT INFORMATION THAT I BOUGHT THE PACKAGE. I was aware of two places that clearly needed fixing and felt there would be other places. When I talked to the Triangle home care crew on the phone, they did not see anything else that needed repair as far as the trim (although they did say the back deck would need to be replaced in a year or two). They said if they went to get more wood, they would use up all of their time in the traffic (even though it is just 3-4 miles away). So that is in conflict with the information I received before I bought the package. I talked to them on the phone and they were finished by 9:00am. So I assume they got there around 7:30 or so. I talked with him at 9:00am and he said they were already finished. I feel like they were in a hurry to get to the next job. There were things they could have done (e..g sanded or filed down where the wood was joined on the deck-I ended up doing that). They could have asked if I needed it painted (which would take 5 minutes (I had the stain left out on the garage floor but failed to tell my daughter). But the bigger issue is that they could have replaced MANY BOARDS on my deck had things been coordinated and they did what the receptionist said (sent one person to Lowe’s or home depot while the other started pulling the wood. I am also disappointed in the vendor if what Angie's list said was true. Angie's List said the vendor stated "they completed work from 7 AM-10 AM." I talked to someone on the crew at 9:00am and they said they were finished. All they did was replace one plank on my deck and one board on my trim. They had the material with them. So I think they would agree that would not take 6 man hours (there were two on the crew). So if they said that took 6 hours, I am disappointed in them for that too. I think if I had been there, things might have gone better. So I accept responsibility for that. I also can see that they would typically deserve an A rating. So I don't want to slam too much. If they had come out to finish the remaining time of the 6 hours, I would have given them man A rating.
Description of Work: Was supposed to do 6 hours of wood repair.

Response from Triangle Home Care
We strive to provide excellent customer service here at Triangle Home Care. We completed this scope of work fully and the customer was satisfied when we left the jobsite. We did not hear anything further from this customer until 11 days later Angie's List contacted us letting us know he was requesting a refund. We feel that this is an unfounded complaint and we are not willing to give a refund.

Greg arrived on site promptly at the scheduled time but in a quick look he knew that our issue was well beyond the scope of his work and that we would need to carefully plan for, including engineering design, a full scale repair of the roof overhang on the back of our home. He was very up front and honest about the condition (it's not leaking, so watch it and make plans to repair when we re-roof the whole home). He suggested we apply for a refund from Angie's List which I did, and the refund was approved same day. Even though nothing was repaired on our home, and no work was done, I could tell that Greg operates with integrity, and is straight forward with his clientele. I recommend him for your repair job on those qualifications alone.
Description of Work: We purchased a package on Angies List from Triangle Home Care for 8 hours of wood rot and roof repair thinking that this would be an effective start to our roof repair needs.
Two gentlemen came and did the repair. Greg was the lead repair person. They did the work quickly and was very professional. He pointed out the poor job that was originally done by a previous crew. He even gave me the contact information of a company that could repair the gutter system
Description of Work: The company repaired a fascia board that was damaged from poor gutter placement. Standing water from repeated rains and poor drainage had caused the damage.
Triangle Home Care was great. Arrived promptly. Looked at each area before going for supplies. Worked efficiently and were done in no time. I probably could have had them do one more project in the time I'd paid for, but it all worked out just fine.

We hired Triangle Home Care. They arrived right on schedule to scope out the work. We agreed on the price. They dug the six post footings better than required by code and filled with concrete. They allowed the concrete to cure for one day. They bolted the posts to the concrete and put a 2ply 2” by 8” continuous beam that ran nice and straight the full length of our deck. It took a couple more days to finish up right on schedule. Our deck now is rock solid and the wood walkway makes if perfect for entertaining.
Description of Work: We have a large two tier deck 28’ by 12’ and 20’ by 12’ that was built before building code required decks be bolted to houses. Our deck was just nailed to the house, so it needed more structural support. We couldn’t add bolts because the deck joist was lower than the house joist. We decided to add a 4” by 8” beam supported on 6” by 6” posts the full 48’ length of the deck about 2’ from the house. We also decided to add flashing between the deck and the house which required replacing the bottom two rows of cedar siding.
