We are a remodeling company serving the triangle area since 1991. ****We do not offer the Handymen service**** We need a 24 Hour Cancellation notice, or you will be charged a $50 Service fee.
Communication and visit prompt. Some confusion about services requested in addition to re-grouting, but I may not have been clear. Also, I didn't know that I would need to supply the grout (luckily, we had some).
Description of Work: Bathtub re-grouted.

Greg quickly performed the caulking work. Because we had a shower door that would not close properly, he fixed that too, at additional cost. Work was done professionally and quickly.
Description of Work: Caulk the bathtubs and showers in our home. Advised us that we needed to replace the liner around one tub enclosure as it was defective. Fixed a shower door that would not close properly. This was in addition to the original caulking work.

They were very punctual, very professional and did a clean, quality job. Called before they came, and explained what they did. I was very happy.
Description of Work: This was an Angie's List Coupon for wood rot repair. We have a very large sliding glass door in the back of the house with wood framing. The wood framing was original and crumbling. The entire thing needed to be replaced.

Greg and his associates were very professional. We were on a tight schedule, as we were preparing the house for sale. They did the work very promptly. The house sold to the first people who looked at it, so it was well worth the investment.
Description of Work: Refreshed grout in 2 shower stalls. Did a good job. For the 2 hour special I did my own sponge work and clean up, but that was fine with me. Represented a great value. Also, they changed out bathroom fixtures and installed a number of new light fixtures.

lled weatherstrippiTo get the most of his service, tell him what you need done and he will let you know what materials to have on hand.
Description of Work: I hired Greg for the deal of 8 hours of service. He called me within a couple of days of purchasing the offer. I emailed him a list of things that needed to be done. He worked quickly and efficiently. He completed more jobs than I had on my list. I would definitely hire him again. He caulked, fixed wood rot, fixed cabinet doors, speckled walls, made custom moldings, installed weather stripping on doors, repaired some outdoor water issues on flashing, hung curtains - probably more things than I can remember!

It took Triangle Home Care - Greg Starkes 20 minutes. The gentleman was good and he did exactly what he said he was going to do and then he went. I thought the deal was good, I got what I paid for but he was done in 20-30 minutes so I went from paying USD 79 for 2 hours to paying USD 79 for 30 minutes. He was good and he knew what he was doing. He was very professional. He knew how long it would take and it wasn't a surprise that he was done in such a short time while the deal was for 2 hours.

The two guys came and did it all in a little over two hours or over four man-hours) and they patiently explained to me what they did and the fixes they made are holding up well. So it went fine. The only problem was that my list wasn't long enough so I paid for 8 man-hours but only got 4.5 man-hours of work, but that's on me.
Description of Work: I bought the Angie's List Big Deal of $299 for 8 hours of work, or in this case 2 men for 4 hours. I can't remember the exact date but it was a Saturday morning after an icy Friday so it was nice they could come out when the roads weren't so good. I had a list of things that needed done, mostly not big things but they were beyond my abilities and expertise, so I wanted to get it all addressed at once by someone that knew what they were doing. The two biggest things I needed addressed were that the sliders on a sliding door had fallen off and the door was useless and a ceiling fan wobbled and made noises.

Was prompt and professional. Work was sub par. We redid the master bath ourselves at our old house and caulked the whole thing. We are not professionals but had no issues the time we lived there (3 years after doing the bathroom). We decided to purchase a Big Deal and have someone recaulk our stand up shower that was leaking water onto the floor (to save ourselves the time). After the job was done the shower still leaked. Also, in many places the caulk is uneven and pitted. Now we deal with mold forming in along all of the caulk lines. We had been in this house for a year before this job was perfomed with no mold issues (house is cleaned on schedule every two weeks). Now despite any kind of cleaning mold constantly forms. In retrospect, should have done the project ourselves.

The company sent a person to give me an estimate to repair the shower. I also got an estimate from a company who had done work in our home prior to this incident. Both companies gave similar bids, except Triangle Home Care said it depended on the extent of any mold damage. I went with the company who had done other projects in our home. There was NO mold. I was glad that had chosen to have My Guys Remodeling do the work in my shower and not Triangle Home Care as I looked at the wall board behind the tile--there was absolutely no mold.
Description of Work: They were going to re-caulk my shower . As requested, I removed old white caulking and found cracks around the floor plus a hole in the corner. The Triangle Home Cared Rep. did seal the cracks, etc. so the shower could be used until we decided what we would do about the situation. The rep said that I would need tile replacement, and checking the corner he said that I had mold behind the tile because moisture had gotten in.

We have done tile work before, and just wanted a break from doing the work ourselves so we bought this deal to have our master shower stall regrouted. Our shower is very small, and when the man first came out he said that this job wouldn't take long at all. That "he'd be done in under an hour". So when we were excited that we'd still have an additional hour for him to work on another task, suddenly our shower took a lot longer to complete. He did an extremely sloppy job with the grout. When you grout you're supposed to try to get up as much of the grout on the tile when it's still wet - he did not. Left huge chunks of grout all over our tiles and shower fixtures. I spent a good 8+ hours buffing the grout/haze off of our tiles. I do understand that you have to buff the haze after it has dried, but this was EXTREMELY excessive. I could have done a much better job. He also globbed on tons of grout in the corners (which are supposed to be caulked) that took me forever to dig out/knock down. Sloppy uneven grout lines. I can't say enough about what a mistake it was to use this company for this job. The job ended up taking us longer to fix than it would have to have just done it ourselves. On top of that we had to supply the grout so it's not like we were even saving on that.
Description of Work: I had purchased an Angies List deal for $79 for 2 Hours of Kitchen & Bathroom Caulking and Grout Restoration. I do not know the name of the man that came to our house, but I sure hope it was not the owner. He lighly scored the grout in the corners (where the walls meet) - did not remove all caulk/moldy areas that we had, and then skim coated over the existing grout in our very small 3x3 shower.

The deck boards were reinforced adquately but the siding/boards were replaced with a type of siding that does not match the surrounding boards. I am not sure why they did this other than it may have been more convenient for them. Also, they took the rotten boards with them making it difficult for us to get the matching paint to re-paint the siding. (We just purchased the house and do not know the exterior paint color)
Description of Work: Replaced some rotten boards on the sides of our house and secured some loose deck boards.

r paintedd, not repairedThe experience was very disappointing. The handyman working for Triangle arrived on time (8:15 AM) for what was supposed to be "four hours of exterior wood restoration and siding repair." I thought this would be perfect because I had some siding with small holes (2-3") and a lot of siding that needed scraping and caulking repairs that I wanted done in preparation for a painting job. But right from the start, I got sidetracked because of the recommendation that the (vertical) siding borads with holes should be replaced. I agreed to consider this, so the handyman went off to a lumber yard. About an hour later, he called to say that replacement boards were not available, and then I got a call from the company owner who reiterated that, and gave me some very expensive estimates for replacing all of the wood siding (the house is mostly brick, with wood siding in several areas). I was in no position to make such a decision, so I asked that the handyman come back and just repair what he could. He returned about 10:15 AM, filled in five small holes, and left about 10:45, spending about ten minutes actually "repairing wood siding." I really don't fault the handyman except that he should not have recommended replacing boards (tongue and groove) that were no longer available at lumber yards. I told the owner when I first talked to him (after buying the Deal) that all I wanted was to get the bad wood repaired and prepped for an exterior painting job, and perhaps that would have happened if there had been better communication between the owner and the handymen he sent. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the owner in an email, and I got a call from the handyman a day or so later, saying that he wanted to make me happy. I called him back, and suggested a couple of days on which he could return for more repair work, but it never happened. Bottom line: I got about ten minutes of actual repair work done, not four hours, for my $149.
Description of Work: Actual work performed: five holes in the wood siding of the house were filled in with some sort of epoxy. Each was about 2-3" in diameter. It took about ten minutes.

It went great - I don't think it could have gone better. The porch looks lovely! Preston was very good at communicating when and how long he would be at my house, etc. I will definitely use Triangle Home Care again. Preston and I are discussing plans to correct an erosion issue in my backyard and also building a deck. I highly recommend Triangle Home Care.
Description of Work: I bought the wood rot repair big deal to use for repairing a rotten post on my front porch. Greg Starkes sent over "his best framer," Preston Maroney, to give me an estimate and subsequently do the job. Preston was excellent - we discussed all options and found the best one to correct the problem. Preston replaced the rotted post, painted the entire porch in addition to replacing/repairing the affected post and railings that were loose.
