We got a little mixed up in between the big deal that we paid for. The big deal said they would provide all these things, and then they came and said that I would still have to buy all the things. My wife wanted them to do the kitchen floor, and then they came and measured it, and they said they could only do the back splash. We were thinking they will get the materials and all that, and they said that the 399 Dollars was just for labor. Other than that, they did a good job. They were on time.He came as promised on the day he was supposed to come. I mostly dealt with Greg and his crew, and he came and measured the floor, and the back splash, and said that our floor fits the criteria of the big deal, and then when he came back, he just did the back splash. That is why were were confused, and we went an bought the tile, and the caulking and everything. He then came back and said it was a misunderstanding. We had to go back out last minute to purchase the stuff for the backsplash, because we didn't have anything. My wife had taken 2 days off from work, and it was a bummer for her. The quality was good and he was on time. Once we understood exactly where we sit, everything worked out.

It was fine. The scheduling was pretty painless and they were good about calling me. We had some snow and we had to reschedule one time. They did show up about 20 minutes late though. They sent 2 people out to do the job. The workers were both fine and nice. They did the work that I outlined them to do. They said that they were going to put in a drip guard and they never ended up doing it and just left it in the carport.

He was assuring me that it wouldn't be expensive but when I asked approximate cost, he threw out a number of $25 to $50. dollars, maybe $75.00. He called later and said he would be late the next day, due to dump being closed. |On the 27th of December, he began the tile layout and cutting. I wanted a diagonal pattern of brown/beige tile, with a cutout of four corners on the tile with a black tile inset. He spent a lot of time laying the pattern and measuring the cuts and finally laying the tile. I was cautioned not to walk on the floor for 24 hours. It looked good from the doorway. |On the 28th of December, he came back to put in the grout and set the commode and vanity. He couldn't complete the installation because there wasn't the proper pipe fittings and he would have to charge me for it and go back to the store again. I asked, wasn't that included in the plumbing, but he claimed it didn't come with the sink and commode. By this time I was becoming leery of the up charges, but didn't say anything. They came back from lunch and the store with the fittings and started to install it. Doug the assistant couldn't finish because he didn't have plumbing putty. They also needed a piece of molding because the vanity had a gap. At this point they left for the store and lunch. I called my brother to ask his thoughts on it. He decided to come over. |At this point I got a full look at the tile work. Over near the tub, the tiles didn't fit quite right. My brother noticed that Greg did not ease any of the cut tile edges. All cut tiles have a sharp edge where they were cut. When asked about this Greg gave an evasive answer that the diamond saw blade left an edge like this. I and my brother decided to take photos. At this point, I noticed that the camera battery charger that I keep in the bathroom outlet with the battery charging, was now missing the battery. So this, together with Greg's talk of additional charges even those as minor as plumbers putty, had me believing I was being deliberately nickel and dimed on this job. When Greg came back, I asked about the battery. Doug seemed to remember seeing something like that going to the dump. At this juncture, Greg went on line to find a similar battery and discounted the whole job $30.00. He then left again for the store for the molding to close the gap on the vanity. There was not any more talk of up-charges once my brother got involved.|While the job looks good at a casual glance, I notice additional things now that I have the chance to study it. The grout lines are not same width on all the tiles and there are areas where the measuring of the tile (between the tub and toilet) left wide gaps. Greg attributed this to the wall and tub being out of plumb, as well as the reason for the molding to close the gap of the vanity and wall. Behind the door, a piece of molding got chewed up (very small piece), but needs to be fixed. |
Description of Work: My experience with Triangle Home Care went like this. When I called to arrange installation, I tried to obtain an idea of the additional charges apart from the initial deal I bought through Angies list. Greg was a bit vague about this and I enquired if he wanted to preview the site, to get a better idea. At that time he said he would need to charge an additional fee for gas if he did that. I declined and asked about the balance fees for installing the vanity and commode and whether he was a licensed plumber, and received an affirmative answer. At that point he estimated the toilet would be $150.00 and the vanity $200.00 to $250.00. In the interest of ease of installation on my bathroom, I agreed. He also said he needed me to remove the vinyl. He was vague about the additional charge for a non-grid pattern. |On 26th of December, he and his assistant, Doug came on time and proceeded to dismantle the commode and vanity. At that time he gave me an estimate of Toilet: $150.00; Sink/vanity Plumbing: $150.00. and $150.00; Tile layout: 36 tiles, Diamond layout with cut out and Delivery of Materials $300.00. All totaled $750.00 discounted by $40.00 from Angies list deal + an additional $10.00 off. All of which I agreed to. He went ahead and did some measurements. At this time, he said he needed to take the trash to the dumps and would be back afterwards. He needed to pick up a few additional items which he said he would bill me for (spacers) and other incidentals. At this point he was pointing out that if I wanted him to get molding for the tub, he would install that. I declined.

Door replacement done well. Wood replacement was around door was sloppy and not completed at all in another area. Railings were done very poorly-nails showing, not all nails making contact with wood so stability affected. Railings look like they belong on a deck and not for the front entry to my home.
Greg showed up, on time, and started to pull up my carpet (who puts carpet in a bathroom?!) in order to lay the ceramic tile that was part of the Angie's List deal. He found mold under the carpet right against the shower and we were concerned that the mold was under the shower as well. The bathroom was stark white and had been built with (from left to right) a standard size fiberglass shower stall, a faux marble "thing" that turned out to be a "spacer" and a Jacuzzi tub. We hated the small bathroom, the small shower and, due to back problems, the Jacuzzi tub turned out to be wasted space that collected junk. It was time for a change and the mold was the impetus to make that change! Greg and his helpers pulled out the existing shower, the spacer and the Jacuzzi. In their place he built a larger, custom ceramic shower stall with a bench for me to sit down and a grab bar to help after my (expected) back surgery. We could only take the shower stall to the windows so then he built a bench for me where the tub used to be and hung storage for my towels on the right wall. Oh, did I forget to mention the tile floor he originally came for? :) I got to pick out all the colors (tile, paint, mosaic) and now I have a MUCH larger, beautiful, more usable, bathroom/dressing room where I can shower and dress without waking my husband. Greg was personable, let me make the decisions but always offered options and an opinion when asked. He handled the various "snags" and "mind changes" with great amiability. (To be fair to me, it WAS rather sudden and I hadn't really had a chance to think about what I wanted). He added those little touches I never would have thought about - the mosaic across the top rail above the custom glass shower door; the crown molding at the top of the shower wall and connecting the bench to the walls; sloping the shower bench seat slightly so it does not collect water; breadboard for the back of the bench, etc. He went out of his way to give us access to the closet (the bathroom is between the bedroom and the closet) as much as possible. He showed up on time, was professional and helpful, and did more than I could have expected. Use Triangle Home Care and Greg. You won't regret it!
Description of Work: He started out by replacing my carpeted bathroom floor with ceramic tile and wound up putting in a custom shower and bench!
Overall the experience with Greg was excellent. He engaged us in all decisions and the floor looks great. His attention to detail is evident.

Greg and his wife are personable to work with. I thought we would re-grout but apparently the previous owners already did that and there was no room for additional grout (lesson learned!) Greg pointed out that the wall on the shower was "soft" and that would be a potential mold issue behind the wall to resolve. He caulked as a temporary measure to avoid future leaks. He was patient showing me the issues. He offered that he could re-tile the entire bathroom when we were ready.

I am a bad person and let my coupon expire. I didn't read closely and didn't realize it would do so. I have to give them credit for working me in despite my error in using the coupon. Either way, I paid $300 for 8 hours worth of work and got about 2.5 hours when it should have equaled out to about 4 at normal rates. I wanted to reroute a dryer vent through the back wall of my house or foundation, and was told over the phone we could do this. When it came time to do the work, I was told this was too difficult so we had to route a pipe about 20 feet along the house to an existing output. It works great, but I was not to enthused to run the exhaust across the whole bottom of the house. Greg was a really nice guy and did fine work. He could have shown up more ready to complete the job that was requested. We had to go to the store and buy materials and even tools to complete the work. Their office was very hard to get ahold of as well. It took about 3 weeks of calling, and I was told they were relocating during that time. Overall, the service was fine. I would use them again, but probably not my first pick.

I purchased the Big Deal for my kitchen flooring and didn't realize the cost it would take to tile beyond the 40 square feet. Mr. Starkes was pleasant and took the time to walk me through the pricing, but in the end, it was still beyond what I could afford at this time. I'm sure they are frustrated with not being able to complete my service, as am I, but I will keep them in mind for the future,

We bought the Angie's list big deal for a tile backsplash. It was easy to make an appointment on the phone. Greg showed up on time and we talked a little bit about what we wanted. He started work right away. He was able to let me know how much more tile was needed so the work was not delayed. By that afternoon, our beautiful backsplash was installed and finished. It looks fantastic. We could not have asked for a better experience.
Description of Work: Installed a backsplash in the kitchen.
