We asked them how long it would it would take, them being Terry, the service manager. he stated it would take 5 1/2 days from start to finish. We asked Terry to order all the parts first and make sure they had everything in stock before they called us and started work because we live in our motorhome and we would have to stay in a hotel while repairs took place. Terry assured me he would make sure he had all the parts in before he called us to bring our motorhome in. Terry called us 2 weeks later and told us all was ready. My wife and I made reservations at a hotel and dropped off the motorhome a week later on a Monday. Terry assured me the motorhome would be ready for pick up by Saturday afternoon. Before I left the motorhome with them I thought I would check just to be sure if they had all the parts in. Terry had forgot to order the awning for living room and parts for my 50amp upgrade. Terry assured me he would order them that day and would be in that week and it would not be a problem. My wife and I show up on Saturday at 1pm to pick up our motorhome and I was in for a multitude of surprises. First thing I notice when I arrive is that Terry and his one worker have MY TOOLS out and are USING them for the job. Second, they are not even close to being finished. They still had the toilet to install, the parts for the awning and 50amp electrical service hadn't come in, my motorhome was in disarray inside from their work. Terry told me he wasn't responsible for the parts not being here because he couldn't control the post office. He also told me that he needed a few more hours because the staff that was supposed to be there were home with hangovers or were not answering their phones. the one worker that did show up was hung over and using my tools. My wife and I left for a few hours and came back. Terry finally had the toilet installed. Terry assured me that once the parts came in, he would call me and would come out to me to replace awning and upgrade our electrical service, ie, finish the job. Before I left with the motorhome, I asked Terry if he would please clean the carpet around the toilet and secure all the outside storage hatches before I got on the road. Terry and his helper hastily cleaned the carpet in 5 minutes. I then went to bring in the slideout and it didn't work. After 15 minutes, Terry figured out where the problem was and said he would fix it when he came out. With the slideout now in, Terry's assurance that all was secured on the outside, I started up the motorhome and proceed down the road. Within about one minute of being on the road I started to hear " banging" noises from the outside front and left of the motorhome. I pulled over at a gas station and asked my wife to check the outside. She reported that two of the storage hatches on the outside were unsecured and open and the engine access was open and in the up position. She proceeded to fix the issues and we continued on to or campsite. Once we arrived at home, we leveled our motorhome, extended the slideout, and proceeded to clean up the mess they made of our home. As we cleaned up we noticed some of our clothes were on the floor. The floor they threw our clothes on was stained by fecal water from the toilet. Terry and his workers thought for some reason they had to take clothes out of one of our closets and did so very disrespectfully. Some of the clothes on the floor were my wife's graduation attire from when she got her Ph.D and my $500.00 flight jacket. My wife was in tears. We cleaned up the mess they made and decided to see how our new washer/ dryer worked. I pressed the power button and nothing happened. I had to pull out the washer and found out the outlet it was plugged into did not work. I did some rewiring and fixed the problem. I pushed the washer back in, pressed the power button, the washer turned on but no water was filling. I pulled the washer out and found out they hadn't turned the water back on to the washer. I tracked down where the spickets were that went to the washer and turned them on. I pushed the washer back in place, pressed the power button and the washer started to work properly. Monday, I called Terry and asked if the parts were in and he reported they weren't but as soon as he got them, he would call me. I called back on Wednesday, Terry said the parts were in and would be there to me in the morning. Thursday afternoon I called Terry and asked if he was coming and he told me someone reported in sick and he would be at my place Friday morning a little after 7 am. Terry got to my place around 9 am on Friday with his best worker with him, Jesus. They worked until 2 PM. I noticed the awning Terry replaced was a foot short on the sides and Terry tried to blame that on me starting he ordered the material based on my measurements. Second, once the electrical service was done, Terry stated that the 50 amp switch box did not require me to go outside and plug in my house power to the generator in case of a power outage, that the switch box did that automatically for me and would take about a minute for power to be restored via generator. Terry was in a hurry to leave and never tested the system to see if it did in fact work that way. Consequently, I decided to simulate a power outage and see if the the generator would take over the house power once main shore power was disconnected, it didn't do a thing except waste gas in my generator. I tried this experiment 3 times at 15 minutes each and each time my generator ran, but no power to my RV. We had 2 power outages from the time Terry and Jesus installed the 50amp upgrade keeping me out of power and A/C for a total of 6 hours. I finally decided to open up the generator door and see if they didn't connect a wire. They had the switches on the generator in the "OFF" position that powers all 30 amp and 20 amp sources to the entire coach. I couldn't believe it. I flipped the switches to the "ON" position and started the generator and the house power came on like it was supposed too. Because he was in such a hurry, Terry did not fix the problem with the slideout as he promised, told me the crappy job that was done on my left rear window (a job I could have done alot better myself)was how if was supposed to look and advised me water drops down, not in(not if there is wind involved Terry) and since then we have had a few very good rain storms and now I have water damage on the wall from water leaking in from the left rear window and Terry never cleaned up the job from wiring the awning as he promised me he would do. Furthermore, while the automatic awning turned out well and worked as expected, the worker he assigned to install the switch to retract and extend the awning did a very poor job leaving a hole inside my coach where the wire was passing through. Also, the dryer vent was installed but Terry failed to fill in the gap between the outside of the coach and inside of the coach with any type of sealant. The ONLY thing that was done almost right was the hotrod. Terry had that installed and instead of wiring the hotrod to the coach itself and making it look clean and professional, he took the easy and lazy way out and plugged it into the only outlet I have installed on the coach which is outside and next to the furnace. This outlet is supposed to be for plugging in any extra goodies you may want at your campsite. Instead, Terry decided to dedicate my hotrod to one of the 2 outlets. I had two cracks in my fiberglass hull I needed fixed. I identified both of them to Terry and he had someone bondo one crack, but not the other underneath the driver's side window. The one crack that he did have repaired, they didn't even bother to paint over it. The door catch to the RV's main entrance door was broken and needed to be replaced. I watched Terry in my passenger side mirror unscrew the old catch, install the new one, but didn't screw it back in all the way and didn't even bother to apply any sealant to it so water wouldn't get inside the door or coach. Because Terry and his crew took the liberty of using my tools for the job we were paying them for, I decided to do an inventory of my tools. I came up short missing a little over $1,000.00 worth of tools which included high end cordless power tools and a mechanics tool set. I was very upset. We had to buy a carpet cleaner to clean up there mess. I have called two other businesses and have had them come out and inspect the work this company did for me and both businesses stated that the most of the work they performed for me was incorrect and done poorly.
Description of Work: First, we bought a motorhome from this business back in May. They promised to have the entire motorhome detailed and ready a week after we bought it. It took them 3 weeks and they never detailed it. My wife and I let it go. Later, we needed some work done on our motorhome: 1). Replace main awning with automatic one 2) Replace awning over our living room slideout 3) Replace toilet 4) Upgrade our 30 amp electrical service to a 50 amp 5) Fix the leaking window in the left rear in bedroom 6) Replace and install a new washer/dryer combo unit 7) install a dryer vent 8) Replace hot rod for hot water heater 9) Repair cracks in fiberglass hull 10) Replace door catch on RV
