They showed up a bit later than was stated on the first day to load - which, was a bit irritating since we knew we had to clean after they were finished and then face a long drive to our new location. But after they did show up they worked very hard and got the job done quickly, efficiently and without anything being torn up. They also were very helpful with moving the few pieces that were remaining in the house for the family member who would continue to reside there. When they came to the new address to deliver the furniture the next morning, they were very prompt and efficient. Minimal brush-ups with the walls, stairs and other parts of the house as furniture was being placed. We were very pleased.

we were given a referral to Easy Movers from another moving company that we'd used (but were booked on date we needed to move). From the outset, Donovan @ Easy Movers was very professional and set our minds at ease with our move. They came out to assess the job and estimate costs up front. On move day the movers were a bit late but the more than made up for it by quickly but safely wrapping the furniture and loading onto the truck. Move-in across town was equally smooth and they finished early! The crew were very professional and friendly, happy to place (and place again) if we asked. I'd definitely recommend to my friends.

Easy Movers is an excellent company to move your household belongings. We were moving my mother from her 4 bedroom house to a 2 bedroom retirement apartment on the 5th of July. It started with my conversations with Carrie at the office. She was very nice and efficient. Then a nice young man (I forgot his name) came by to provide an estimate. Neither my sister nor I were there for the estimate but our mother said he was very polite and professional. To make sure we got a fair estimate, I tried to have another mover that had good ratings on Angie?s List come by and provide another estimate for comparison. He called me back before coming to give the estimate and said they could not move us that day but we should call Easy Movers! So we just locked in on Easy Movers. The day of the move started off a little slow. Carrie had told us they would be there between 8:30 and 9:30. When they had not shown at 9:35, my mother called Carrie. While she was on the phone, Mike Jordon, the driver called. They had been stopped with all the other trucks on I-77 for an inspection. If not for that, I am sure they would have been on time. They arrived at 10:45 and started right away. Family and friends had packed all the small articles in boxes in the preceding weeks. We walked through with Mike, Todd Becald(spelling?) and Triston (I forgot Tristan?s last name) pointing out what would go and what would stay. They worked efficiently. Tristan is a young guy new to this work. Mike and Todd were training him and good naturedly ribbing him as all trades and professions do. I saw Todd instructing him on how to lift and move large pieces of furniture through doors and along wooden floors without marring either the furniture or the floor. When we asked a question or asked them to do something the response always included a yes ma?am or yes sir. We had one box labeled ?Do not move in van ? contains medications.? We had mistakenly put it with about 30 boxes that were to go on the van. Todd brought it to us since he was paying good attention to his work and had noticed the comment on the box. After loading the van, they helped us move some of the remaining furniture in the house to stage it for selling. Thisstarted when my sister and I were moving a chest of drawers. Mike stepped in and said, ?You have movers here, let us do that.? We started a walk through of the house to make sure they had everything we wanted to move on the truck. There was one piece we found and they added it to the truck. We all got side tracked and did not finished the walk through. I discovered a closet full of clothes that was not packed. We had not opened the closet door during the walk through. The other closets in the room were open and they took all those as desired. Mike and crew had been on the road for at least 30 minutes so I decided we would take that one closet of clothes with us instead of having them turn around and lose an hour of time. After the two-hour drive to the other city, they were just as efficient in getting all the articles off the truck and into the apartment. They were very careful with all the pieces. Mike was very clear in his explanation of expenses to my mother and me. I definitely recommend Easy Movers and if you get Mike or Todd on your crew, you will be very happy. I am sure after a few more months of working with guys like Mike and Todd, Tristan will be right up there with them.

It was our first bad experience using Angie's List. Giving them a D was simple since every adjective to describe our experience starts with a D. Before I describe the day, let me preface it with three points. First, check my other reviews. I'm not a malcontent. My reviews are almost all positive. Second, we tipped the 4 movers generously and provided lunch, dinner and plenty of waters and drinks. Third, Easy will certainly rebut this with the same excuses that they gave me -the salesman, the computer (they really did), or even the exhausted driver, but see if management takes any responsibility. I doubt that they will say they are sorry. This was our first move in 30 years. We were very excited and well prepared. I checked Angie's List many months in advance and then hired Easy after meeting their salesman at our house. He went through each room (approx sq footage 4000sf) and took many notes. We later received a high quote, but considering their pitch, we had high expectations. Scheduling was no problem since we booked them so far in advance. Payment was not an issue - they required our credit card in advance. I was told that we would either have 2 trucks, or 1 truck and 2 trips. There was never a discussion about logistics, I simply hired them at a high price to move us. (Excluding TV's and artwork -thank goodness) I mentioned D's - here goes: Disorgannized-That's the generous way my spouse would describe them. A cynic might use Dishonest. Regardless...one is almost as bad as another in a moving company. Disingenuous- The salesman described their crews as all full time employees. Our crew were part timers and one young man was on his first move with them. The salesman also described how we would simply have to tell them where the boxes and furniture were to be placed when they arrived at the new house. I'd still be laughing about that one if I wasn't so sore from all of my late night lifting. Disproportionate- They assigned ONE truck and 4 movers to us and the team was determined, or more likely told by management , to do it in ONE trip. That strategy ruined the entire move. Delayed- Since the apparent priority was to make the move in one trip, not customer satisfaction, hours were wasted trying to load the truck. They arrived at 8:30am. By mid afternoon, I began to question the schedule. Why not go ahead and make one trip so we could get started and then maybe 2 guys could come back for the rest? Why cram everything so tightly - we were not going to New Jersey - just 6 miles - we could always come back. Easy even sent a guy out with more blankets. I politely expressed to him my concerns about how the move was going and that they were under staffed. He brushed me off and said it would be fine. Disinterested- I then called their headquarters. It was late afternoon and we still had not made the first trip. Believe it or not, they said that they needed to check the computer! I asked what that had to do with anything. They also said that they needed to check with the salesman. I again asked how that would help my problem. They were totally unresponsive to my concerns. I kept reminding them that I hired them to move us. I did not hire 4 guys and a truck! Detrimental to your health- By 9pm we were still trying to unload the truck. I say "we" because by now I was busy carrying boxes and belongings. One young man was so out of shape that he could frequently be found collapsed on my recliner and being consoled by the other movers. I'm 59 years old and my wife and I worked as hard as we did when we used to move ourselves. The move was going so badly that we had no choice. Distraught- By 10:45 they said we would would go back and get the the refrigerator, rugs, and other items that could not be crammed on. I refused. I would not not sign anything, but my wife agreed to initial some lines. They said that they were "slammed" the next day, but would work something out. Our exciting moving day ended after 11 pm with boxes filling our garage instead of the rooms where they were supposed to go. We received a call the next morning that the move would be completed. We met them back at the house and finally completed the move the next day. We were exhausted, sore and upset. Damaged- Washers and dryers were never built to be shoved around like boxes. Consequently our dryer has a sprung door. One of the movers worked hard to repair it, but that only slowed the move down more and only marginally improved the door. Defensive- Easy's management was never apologetic. They knew they had us. Once a company has your stuff and you are faced with meeting a real estate closing date, they have all of the leverage and the customer is at their mercy. Easy took full advatage of this. THE WORST PART OF THE EXPERIENCE FOR ME WAS WATCHING THE EXHAUSTED, HARD WORKING TEAM OF MOVERS TRYING THEIR BEST WITH NO HELP FROM AN UNRESPONSIVE MANAGEMENT. I THINK THEY REQUESTED BACKUP- I ASSURE YOU THAT I DID. THE MOVERS DID EVERYTHING HUMANELY POSSIBLE. MANAGEMENT's ONLY INTEREST WAS GETTING PAID. I EXPLAINED TO THEM ON THE PHONE THAT DAY THAT I FOUND THEM ON ANGIE"S LIST AND THAT I WOULD CERTAINLY DESCRIBE OUR EXPERIENCE IN MY REVIEW. THEY COULD HAVE CARED LESS. WE PAID OUR FULL INVOICE AND $350 FOR ADDITIONAL INSURANCE (shows how gullible we are.) We are moved in now, so I have had time to write this. Easy may have good days, but they sure also have MISERABLE ones, too. A disorganized and inconsistent mover is hardly someone you should should trust on such an important day. Easy sure ruined our big day. Now watch, they will rebut this by blaming everyone involved except their management (I use that term loosely and generously.)

They were great. I ended up having to cancel them because of the closing date but I really liked all the service I got up to that point. I still may end up using them. They were really pleasant on the phone. I got to talk to them immediately and they were really nice to talk to. They were flexible. I felt like I was going to be important enough which was nice. I would absolutely use them.

Scheduling the move and getting an estimate was a breeze. The final price was very close that was quoted with no surprise charges, even though the move included a Piano. We also needed to reschedule the move three times and that was also not a problem. The move was performed over two days as expected with items unloaded the same day, with a four man crew on each day. They also picked up and delivered a fridge, wall oven and dishwasher that we had stored at a neighbor's basement. Overall, the move went smoothly. There was a different crew on the second day, except for the crew leader (Ross) who worked both days. The crew on the first day were very experienced and moved all the items in a professional manner. The crew on the second day included two relatively inexperienced members who did not treat the furniture or the flooring/walls with the same care that the first crew did. At the end of the second day, I noticed one of the furniture had a broken crown molding with damage to the front of the cabinet. When I showed it to the crew leader, he did not know about it, but the two inexperienced guys who moved it knew about it, but failed to inform anyone. The crew leader filled out a damage report and stated I would hear from the claims department in about 5 days. It is now July 1, two weeks after the move, and I have yet to hear from anyone at Easy Movers. Very disappointing. There was also minor damage and a lot scuffing to the walls in the old house that I fixed and touched up myself. I also had a large L shaped desk that was a Costco purchase, that needed to be un-assembled and re-assembled. It was not put back together quite right, which means I will need to fix it myself. I did not ask them to work on it anymore as their moving fee is $140 per hour. The moving truck also ran over some landscaping stones lining the driveway squishing them into the ground that I need to fix. We did a lot of prep work of cleaning out junk, donating lot of stuff and packing up all of the kitchen items, clothing and other loose stuff. That helped the move go fairly smoothly. The quote from Mayflower was almost double what we paid Easy Movers, but that included Mayflower doing lot of the packing. In the end, we moved what we intended to move over the two day period. We did not move everything as we still live in the old house and the new house is not yet ready to move in. That considerably lessened the stress of the move. If we had to completely move out of the old house, it would have been a totally different experience, but that is nothing against the Easy Movers. We have no experience with any other professional movers to compare this one against.
Description of Work: Move all of the furniture, room full of items boxed by us, miscellaneous items from the garage and a storage building from a 3300 sq. ft. two story house. The move was to a new house located about 15 miles from old house.

I've moved 8 times over the last 30 years, and regardless of distances involved, this crew was the best. Mike, the driver and crew lead, was couteous and professional. Upon arrival at my home (on time by the way) he immediately introduced us to this crew, Bobby and Chris, who were both courteous and professional. Mike 'scoped' out the move quickly, verified the cost and went over the paperwork, while Bobby and Chris immediately starting wrapping our furniture with high grade padding, and loaded on the truck. Our move took 1.5 hours LESS than anticipated, cost us LESS than expected........and nothing was missed or scratched! I would gladly recommend this company, and especially this specific crew to anyone interested.

I checked several movers on Angie's List. Easy Movers was the only one I spoke with who sent an estimator out (others estimate cost from questionnaires online). I felt more confident knowing that someone had actually looked at the stuff before estimating. Packers came on Thursday and did a fast, careful job. They were great about cleaning up afterwards. They took all the extra materials and swept up the little scraps of paper that fell during the packing. Movers came Friday morning on time as promised. They laid material to protect the floors, and took special care not to scratch the elevator in the condo. Also they were considerate about not blocking the driveway so my neighbors could enter and leave. There were no problems on the move, except as with most moves, it took longer than they had thought. At the new apartment they brought things in and placed them wherever I wanted, even moving some furniture a couple of times to get it in the best locations. They used materials to protect the carpeting in the apartment also. Everything was finished in one day as promised, and they left the apartment clean and neat. This is probably the easiest and most pleasant move I've had, and there have been a lot of them. I intend to use Easy Movers again when I move to a new townhouse in a few months.

Packers were late. Packers left leaving pots and pans unpacked (left to get them lunch and they left before I returned),as well as other things. The day the furniture was loaded, we were told the truck was full before everything was loaded. I panicked and was desperately trying to get things in my car. The truck left without the walk through I was promised. When I went through the house - I found more things that were left. The next day, they were anxious to finish. My piano was the last to be unloaded from the truck. The truck started to pull off with the piano still wrapped and on a dolly. They quickly unwrapped the piano and left. Later I saw the leaf that holds the music was broken. I would have respected them more if they had just told me! The numbered itemized list was a joke. It was given to me when I asked for it. They said it would really slow them down if I tried to check off the items. they were right. The items are identified too generic to figure out. This was our first experience with moving. I think we got what we paid for. The movers were pleasant and addresed the issues I brought up. Our furniture was older and not real expensive. Most of our things were moved without problems. Because of price we would probably use them again, but I will play a far more active part of the processs.

I submitted an online request and was responded to almost immediately. When I called a day or so later to confirm details, I no trouble scheduling my move appointment - it was on a Thursday. The $125 an hour for 3 guys was the approximate rate I received for several other companies - which is why I graded the price as Fair vs good or excellent. The guys arrived on time, were very courteous and personable. Earl, Chris and Emanual were fabulous. Worked very quickly - wrapped everything in blankets - even things I didn't think needed wrapped (like couch and chair). Got everything moved from my 3rd floor apartment (no elevator) and into my 2nd floor condo in just about 6 hours. The time estimated was 5 hours, but with previous moves, I figured that time would be impossible and had estimated 6 in my mind. I will say, that when they were UNLOADING the truck, the guys seemed to be in a hurry. Boxes were placed in the correct rooms - most of the time, some furniture was left with bubble wrap still taped on. It was just a little strange. I guess they realized they were running late and had another job booked after mine. Overall, it was a really good experience with a moving company (unlike previous companies) and was made even better by the guys. Definitely would recommend to friends.

This move went well from start to finish. The set-up when I called was efficient. Before the move I got courtesy calls from the office, and on move day, from the driver. My team was Mike Jordan, driver, and Emanuel Graham. They communicated well with me and with each other. Mike explained the paperwork and how they would move one special piece, and the moving and placing furniture in the second house was done speedily but with care. It was a positive experience and I would readily use Easy Movers again.

Easy Movers was prompt to send someone out to look over my house and provide an estimate. They came to pack the truck on Sunday and delivered everything in Virginia the next day. They sent a 2 person team to do the job so it was a little slow, but wel done. I was very nervous about the whole process, but everyone in the office as well as the 2 men who did the move were friendly and professional.

The company (owner and office staff) were professional and responsive. I don't know if we just got a bad crew of if they just don't do long distance moves well. I have never used movers before so was very nervous about this. However, I have never had a bad experience using someone from Angie's list so felt confident in my decision. I dealt mostly with Dan (the owner) and Jason (who is over the crews I think) in the beginning. They were great. Always answered my questions and kept me assured that this would go smooth. Their price was not the cheapest but not the most expensive. The day of the move the crew called to tell me they would be about an hour or so late due to DOT rules and regulations. Mike Jordon was the driver and over the rest of the crew. When they arrived I was introduced to the entire crew. Mike then said that he was going to walk through the house to look at everything. He never mentioned that he would be looking for current damage on the furniture or that I should come with him. We signed off on everything trusting that what he put down was correct. We were on a tight time frame. Our mistake. Everything was loaded is somewhat of a timely fashion. The crew liked to cut up which was fine with me until later in the afternoon. We heard a big "bang" from the upstairs master bedroom. Mike went up to check it out and evidently was told everything was okay. I then left my husband there and started the drive home to Charlotte. The next day the crew was once again over an hour late. They immediately started moving stuff in the house and were good about asking where stuff went. Mike was adament that I didn't touch a thing which I appreciated. Then he took me to the side and told me that my king size sleigh bed headboard had been damaged. We had paid extra for insurance so I was not worried. However, when I saw the damage I inquired as to how this happened. He told me that no one on his crew (who included Rodney Alexander, Kevin Peterson and Sean Seeman) told him there was damage until the next morning. The damage was pretty bad on an expensive piece of furniture and there was no way that anyone could have not known what happened. However, the crew never did tell me or my husband the full story. Still - to this day I don't really know what happened. Today the furniture repair guy (who was fantastic by the way) came out. He took one look at the damage and asked if this was old because "someone" had tried to cover it up with stain. My husband and I had both looked at it and thought it was strange but we have been so busy trying to unpack that we really didn't have time to think that someone would try and cover this up hoping we wouldn't see it. If Mike had ot told me of the damage there is a good chance I would not have seen it until the next day. This made me wonder how much other damage was done that we don't know about or haven't found. The walk thru in GA was done totally without showing me anything. I know my furniture so I know most of the dings and scratches. But I also would have felt better if I had a better understanding of what he was writing on his inventory. There was never an inventory done of what was going on the truck or what came off. I know other damage was done but can't prove it. By the way, De Castro Furniture Repair is the BEST!!! He has my bed looking great. When it came time for us to sign off on all the paper work and get our final cost it all became a blur. I asked Mike several times for a breakdown in the price and could never get it. I'm still not sure what our move actually costs because all I could ever get was a total. Like I said, I have never used movers before. My husband (who has used MANY movers in the past) said this is typical and there was really nothing special about Easy Movers. I will say that Don (the owner) and all of the in office people were great to me. However, I feel like I was lied to by the crew and would not EVER want to use them again. I'm not saying I would never use Easy Movers again - but I would definately take more caution in who my crew was, read the reviews more careful and want a full breakdown in price at the end (not just a number)... Also, ALWAYS walk around when they inventory your furniture. Make sure you know what they are writing down and that it is actually there. I'm so disappointed with Easy Movers. In the end the move cost us a little more than we thought considering we had packed everything ourselves and moved a 22 foot load of heavy boxes the weekend before. I was also not happy with how my furniture was handled, the lack of professionlism with the crew (there were things said even about the owner that just were not right)... Do your homework before you use them. I think for small, short distance moves they may be great. But I almost feel like we were out of their league...
Description of Work: PLEASE NOTE: This review is more about the crew that did our move. They moved us from Atlanta, GA to Indian Trail, NC.

Response from Easy Movers Inc
Dear Member, Thank you for doing business with Easy Movers and for your kind words regarding the office staff. We are sorry that the crew did not follow procedure and things did not not go completely as planned. Please accept our humblest apology. We have addressed these issues with the crew and taken steps for this not to happen again. We would appreciate if you would not mention the names of our employees in the reviews. We are not sure if there are legal implications that could come back to haunt us. Sincerely, Don Reid, Owner.

We were very pleased with Easy Movers. From the initial contact, they were very responsive and pleasant to work with. They came to the house to give an estimate (which other companies would not do). Even though their estimate was on the high end, we knew we could lower the charges by moving a lot ourselves (which was our plan since it was a local move). On moving day, 4 men arrived on time and worked quickly and efficiently to move our belongings. The move, which was originally estimate to take about 9 hours only took 4. The men made sure all furniture and boxes got into the right rooms and was placed where we asked. They were courteous and took care to make sure the freshly-painted walls and doorways were not scratched. We were very happy with them and would use them again for a future move.
Description of Work: Moved furniture and some boxes from a 3-bedroom townhouse into a single family home.

We were told Easy Movers (EM) would show up between 8:30 and 9:30 the morning of our move. Shane from EM called around 9:00 to let me know they would arrive in about 10 minutes. They arrived promptly and we did a walk thru of the house so I could show them all of the items in each room to be moved. They wasted no time starting and began packing at 9:30 AM. All 4 guys in the crew were so nice and professional. They allowed me to vacuum area rugs that were under furniture before they rolled them up to be packed. Once the packing was complete, we all drove to the new house. The driveway to our new home is a little steep and long. There is a dip at the bottom of the driveway, so the moving truck could not pull up into the driveway because the weight of the truck was digging it into the driveway. Without even skipping a beat, they quickly moved to "Plan B" and parked the truck on the side of the road at the bottom of the driveway and had to haul every item up that steep and, what I'm sure, became a very long driveway! Not once did I hear a complaint - these are some of the hardest working guys around! They always made sure to ask where items needed to go in the new house. A couple of things were placed in the wrong rooms, but they moved them to the correct location without any hesitation. There were a couple of items we needed to take from our new house to our old house and they gladly took care of those for us as well. I offered a couple of times to get them some lunch, but they wanted to keep working so they could get the job done as quickly as possible for us. We completed everything at 2:30. I could not be happier with this moving company and would highly recommend them. Everyone I have dealt with from EM has been so nice and accommodating. If you're every planning a move - Easy Movers is a great one to hire.
Description of Work: We hired Easy Movers to move our furniture and larger items. The move to our new home was only 3 miles away, so we were able to move a lot of boxes and small items ourselves.

We didn't have much time to move and we have a toddler, so we needed to hire someone to pack our stuff and move it for us in 2 days. We've done so before; in fact, we've moved all the way across the country twice, so we're pretty familiar with how it should and should not go. I can't say working with Easy Movers was dramatically better than other moving services we've used, but it certainly wasn't anything to complain about. They came out and spent an entire day packing our house (and supplied the materials), and then moved us the next day. Out of our 70+ boxes and pieces of furniture, they only broke one wine glass. That said, they entirely forgot to move a 150 lb. glass coffee table, from our storage unit, even though I specifically asked them to remember it. I suppose I could have done a better job checking everything, but part of the reason I hire movers is because my mind is in a million places with everything else.
Description of Work: Packed and moved a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house from one residence to another (similar size) in a different part of the city.

We sold our townhome before we purchased our new home so we had to move into an apartment on a temporary basis. Therefore, some of our belongings had to go into long term storage and some of our belongings were moved into the apartment. We solicited quotes from Easy Movers and another mover. The quotes were similar but we chose Easy Movers because of Suzanne Baumgarner. She is wonderful and if you choose Easy Movers, ask for Suzy! She is terrific to work with. She was extremely responsive to phone calls and texts, even outside of business hours. She is kind and very understanding of how stressful a move can be so she does everything she can to mitigate all of your concerns/issues and make the move as easy as possible. Our move needed to occur over 2 days: Day 1 to long term storage and Day 2 to the apartment. After talking with Suzy, I felt confident that Easy Movers would be able to handle the complexities of our move and store our belongings with care. The day before our move, we received a call confirming the details. We requested 4 men on both days. On Day 1, they called to tell me that they were only able to send 3 men, but would get a 4th person to us as soon as possible. They were as good as their word and the 4th man showed up in the early afternoon. That was the only minor glitch. We requested the same crew for Day 2 and all 4 men showed up again (with one replacement) the next day. The crew was incredible. I'll name them so they get credit: Mike Jordan (crew leader), Rodney Alexander, Bobby Robinson, and Reggie Willison. They worked hard and fast and efficiently. And they knew what they were doing. We had some very heavy pieces and some furniture that needed to be unassembled in order to be moved and taken down the stairs. No problem for this team. There was no damage to the house or to our belongings. In addition, all our things were wrapped and prepared for long term storage. They didn't take a break except for when we brought them lunch. I think they ate in 10 minutes or less. They were extremely pleasant and delightful to work with. The next day Mike Jordan (crew leader) called to say they were on their way and they showed up on time. They had to move some very heavy pieces into our apartment and navigate 2 sets of stairs. Again, they knew what they were doing and they did it expertly and efficiently. They took things apart and put them back together again in order to get through doors and stairs. No damage to the apartment or our belongings. They were always pleasant and polite. I highly recommend Easy Movers and will use them again when we move into our new home. And, if we move again after that, I'll use them then. Be sure to ask for Suzy Baumgarner to be your contact and ask for Mike Jordan to be your crew leader. Just don't ask for them on the day we plan to move...because we'll be using them!
Description of Work: Easy Movers moved us out of our 4 bedroom townhome. A portion of our belongings went to long term storage and a portion of our belongings went to our new temporary apartment.
