Bulwark Exterminating - Charlotte

The service was performed thoroughly and efficiently. As of this date (10/30/2012) there has been a complete absence of any type of insects. The reason for the overall rating of 'B" is because of the "C" rating under punctuality. I felt that I had been given an apppointment time of 5 p.m. and not a time "window". When the technician didn't arrive by 5:30, I called and they said he should be there by 6p.m.. I called again at around 7 p.m. and offered to reschedule the appointment but they said that he was enroute from his last service call. The tech finally arrived at 7:45 p.m.. He did the outside work first because he was fast losing daylight. Normally he does the outside work after he is finished inside. The tech was very personable and he and I talked quite a bit as he worked inside. Could this possibly be the reason he was running so late? He left about 9 p.m.. I put all this within the context of the nature of the service industry. It seems that as the day goes along, things happen and you get further and further behind, unless you were overscheduled to begin with.

Showed up on time. Descrided process and what type of chemicals to be used. I appreciate that it is all human and pet friendly. did the work and removed sprider webs he found. Did around the exterior and the crawl space. Only a very light smell was left and was gone in a few hours . I liked the way it is applied into the walls rather than sprayed. He will return in two months for follow up treatment. I would use again.

The intical call was a sells pitch but the person doing the service was very nice and did a good job. Very professional

I was impressed with Bulwark from the very beginning. Initially, we were given a window from 8-10 on a saturday that the technician would be onsite. At 811 I saw him outside prepping his paperwork and acquiring the equipment he needed. After greeting me at the door, he immediately removed his shoes and showed great respect for our house throughout the entire time he was there. He told me exactly what he was going to do and went into a great deal of detail. I was highly impressed with his professionalism and attention to detail. I was initially concerned because the day he came out it was raining outside. My concern was gone the next day when I saw immediate results by observing a minimum of 23 bugs laying outside my garage door upside down and 15 outside my front door looking up at bug heaven after they had met their demise. I highly recommend anyone requiring an excellent exterminator to call Bulwark immediately. My wife and I live by the mantra, you get what you pay for. With Bulwark, that is not true, you get what you pay for and even more.

They called to explain their service and the costs. Seemed like the best alternative and value for us. An appointment was set up and thet were prompt and efficient.

When I called in to make my appointment they started by trying to get me to sign up for a monthly treatment service. I denied and requested just the services I had already paid for. The first trip, they did not do a very good job.

They called to schedule, arrived when they said they would, and finished,and didn't leave a mess!

I had an infestation of spiders and silverfish (there were literally spiderwebs in every corner of my home!) and when I saw the "Big Deal" offered by Bulwark, I jumped at the opportunity. Someone called me promptly to schedule my service. My technician Ryan Headrick was very professional, kind and quick. He explained what he would do, how long it would take and what I should do if I saw any more bugs. I am not getting services every two months to keep the bugs away and I am very happy.

The experience went exceptionally well. I found the technician to be well informed. The service was beyond expectations. I have begun monthly services with them since using them initially.

This was an Angies list Big Deal and it went quite well. They promptly returned my call and explained their services and which would be most appropriate for my situation. (2-story house with a crawl space on a lot with big trees.) The technician arrived during the designated time window. He explained what he was doing and was quite professional about it. I didn't ask a lot of questions about bugs or the insecticide they used but I have the impressions that the fellow would have explained anything I asked about. I went ahead and signed up for their bi-monthly service at $65 per month. If I see any bugs in the house they will come back for free any time. Have seen only a couple dead ones so far, and they told me that I'd see a few of them. Good, professional service and I think a reasonable rate.

The ant guy had to come twice, but all the ants are gone. I didn't have a problem with termites and didn't want to have problems, so I assume that I won't since he set baited traps and will return to check them. There's a fee for return visits.

The technician sent an email identifying himself and informing me of the date and time of his arrival. He was prompt and professional. I haven't seen any live insects since the treatment. However, I have noticed dead insects in the garage and house; therefore, I presume the treatment worked. I'm satisfied with the service. I did not sign up for the recommended bimonthly service but will use the company on an as-needed basis.

In order to schedule an appointment I was told someone would contact me. I was contacted soon after by someone who arranged for the appointment. I described the wasps' nests I wanted removed, concern about insects (Palmetto bugs) and a typical problem with mice in the fall. He said they would take care of this. He also worked at selling me a regular service that I was not looking for. I mentioned that I had not experienced any work from them yet and would not want a contract. He indicated he would contact after the service had been done to see if I wanted a contract. The person performing the service arrived promptly, and needed to borrow a ladder to get to the nests. This was cumbersome because the ladder was not easy to get to and took a while to set up. After taking care of the nests, he quickly sprayed the house inside and out. He mentioned setting traps for the mice but these entailed sticky mats that seem cruel to me. I told him I would stay with my catch and release traps. I was concerned about the pesticide and aired the house out well with fans. The smell dissipated quickly. I do not want a contract and would have preferred less of a sales call on this when contacted for the appointment. A brochure that could be left with me to consider after the service would have been more appropriate.

When I called to make my appointment, we discussed what types of bugs we were seeing and he explained the treatment and made the appointment. The technician was prompt and friendly. He described the products he was using, answered my questions and explained what I should expect moving forward. I am very happy with the results and have signed up for regular service.

I thought I had just done that above. UPDATE: The company contacted me and they did not charge me for the treatment that I did not approve.

They did really well. They were on time; as a matter of fact I think they might have come out five minutes early. They gave me a call before they came out. The young man, who did the work, was really pleasant and very respectful. I do not think I have seen any pests other than the dead ones that I saw after the first day.

I bought a coupon with this company through Angie's list Big Deal trusting that I would not have any problems since I had just purchased a new house. The first time I called I talked to Jeff to set up an appointment between 6-8 on 8/24 and he was very knowledgable about his company and seemed very professional. The time came and went and the company was a no show. I called the company back and they apologized, while saying that I would get a call first thing in the morning to figure out the problem. I did recieve a call, but only for them to apologize again because they had not even scheduled me. I was then told that they would be at my place on 8/27 between 6 and 8 with a 30 min warning call, but the woman I talked to also told me that he would come closer to 6. Monday came around and no one showed up or called at 7:30. I then called the company again and asked for a refund. They connected me to the manager without telling me and the manager apologized, but tried to make excuses saying that for a late appointment time that they might get to my house later. I told him that I understood that if this wasn't their second chance to show up and if I had not been told that my appointment would have been closer to 6 with a thirty minute warning call. He then said that the driver was just finishing up and would be in route and was probably trying to call me and would be at my place in 20 min. That would have made the time 8:00 that they would have shown up at my place. As a single female living in my own home, I do not want a strange worker coming into my house and working until maybe 8:30-9. They did not offer me any deals or discounts and I was told by the manager that he did not have the equipment to refund my money and that someone else would be in contact with me. I really hope I get my money back!

The person I talked to on the phone was very nice and explianed what they were going to do. When the guy showed up at my house I was immediatly presented with a contract to sign. I was not expecting that. The contract had no real terms or prices, only that they would come every other month. I thought that was really a sneaky practice and refused to sign a contract in which there was no way to know what the terms would be. Also, it was not presented as a contract but you only would know that by reading carefully, which I always do. I could see how an elderly person would not understand or see what they were signing. That being said, they guy who provided the service was very nice and I felt did a good job and I feel he was only doing what he was told to do.

We have seen a decrease in the number of palmettos getting into the house since we've started using Bulwarks services. There was one occcasion where I had seen a bug, called Bulwark and they came out the same day to do a spot treatment. There is no way we could spend time in our yard without the mosquito treatment. It isn't 100% effective, still put bug spray on the kids, but there are certainly fewer mosquitos. When it seems the treatment is wearing off or if there was a heavy rain, they have come out to re- spray. Their customer service is fantastic and they are very courteous and professional. They call ahead if their appointments and have always shown up on time.

Great service - they come out every 2 months and provide pest control services. They call ahead of time to see if there are any particular areas to address and then they show up on time. If we have any issues between service, they are more than happy to come out and address them. They work around our schedule and are very prompt in providing the service. When initially went with them, we contacted quite a number of companies and their representative was the most knowledgeable. We highly recommend them.

Sean M. arrived on time and he did a wonderful job both inside and outside. The difference has been apparent...I am no longer sweeping up bugs every morning..

We have been really happy with them. We have not had any kind of issue in our new home. They are taking care of us. Their philosophy is “Keep bugs from getting in.” We’ve actually had a few dead bugs; they get in and they expire. They are really good about following up, telling us when they’re going to come, and showing up; that’s all you can ask. If there is any issue, they come back out. They are very responsive and very good. We absolutely will continue to use them.

They were a day late to come to my house. I called them to tell them about them being late and they did not call back. After the scheduling mix up, I had them do some spray around the windows and the exterior of the house. The gentleman that came out after was very pleasant.

I bought this service as an Angie's List BIG DEAL. I am not sure of the regular price, but $68 was a great price. The technician showed up when he was supposed to and went straight to work. The whole process went very smooth. I would hire them again.

The service gives you peace of mind and it reduces the number of critters. They are very responsive.
