 + -1 moreAlbert accomplished all this very successfully in roughly three hours. He is the consummate professional. He is so very kind; personable. I was also very impressed by his cleanliness. This is extremely important to me. He is so neat. He was very respectful of my home environment. We could tell that Albert has a tremendous amount of experience in plumbing. He gave us some great helpful hints, too, for future reference. For all that he did, we thought the price was fantastic. Especially in view of his extensive expertise. Albert and Son will definetly take care of all our future plumbing needs. I am so fortunate to have found this "prince of pipedom"! I can't tell you how HAPPY I am with the results of Albert's labor! It is so fabulous to have these plumbing fixtures actually working right!! I advise you to HIRE this company for your plumbing concerns! You'll also be very grateful you did.
Description of Work: Albert repaired two toilets in my home, plus leaky handles in one bathtub. He also checked handles in other bathtub, per my request. The meat of the job, though, was the toilet task. My toilets had been structurally unstable for a long time, due to improper original installation. The situation had progressively gotten worse. They did not "sit" on the floor; very wobbly. I found Albert & Son Plumbing in the Pages of Happiness in a previous issue of Angie's List publication. I am SO GRATEFUL to have found Albert! He and his son need to be permanent residents of the Pages of Happiness, as far as I am concerned. Albert came to our home on Saturday, 1/23. First, I was happily amazed that he does not charge extra for weekends. That is indeed a rarity. But the amazement didn't stop there. Albert needed to cut the flange (attaches base of toilet to pipe) on both toilets. This was a horrendous undertaking; I can't stress this enough. He essentially performed intricate surgery to correct the problem. My husband and I are in awe of this man's skill and perseverance. He tackled this arduous task without flinching. He explained in detail what he was doing; what parts he needed. He had the parts on his truck, thank God. He also replaced the filler tube, "disc" (in place of the newer "flapper"), and supply tube in both toilets. He also had these parts on his truck. My toilets are 30 years old. The fact that he had the parts he needed is a small miracle to me - since this brand of toilet is very uncommon these days, I believe.

 + 0 moreI had a new dishwasher and garbage disposal installed (by someone else) and it didn't get done quite correctly, and water went all over the floor the first time I went to use it. Albert came out and found the problem and quickly fixed it. Then he realized that we had a leak under the sink, and found the leak and replaced the rusted through pipe part. While doing that, he cleaned out the drains of all the gunk that was stuck in there, and made some other adjustments to keep the dishwasher and garbage disposal working well together. I was very pleased, he was at our house within about an hour of my calling, his price was very reasonable, and he was a very nice, professional guy. He showed me what was wrong, and I felt very comfortable with his work. I'll definitely use him again. I also asked him to listen to a thump i heard sometimes when i turned on the shower, but of course it wouldn't do that while he was there. In fact, it hasn't done it again, so maybe it magically (haha) fixed itself just by him being in the house.
Description of Work: Albert fixed my dishwasher installation, garbage disposal installation, cleaned out the drains, fixed a leak and replaced part of a pipe.

 + -1 moreThe water hose on my kitchen faucet disconnected from the sprayer while cooking supper and I had to turn the water supply off. I was very concerned because I knew I had to call a "new" plumber due to the death last year of the plumber I had used for many years. A friend had recommended Albert and Son Plumbing some months ago and this is the first time I have needed a plumber since that recommendation. Before I called Albert I checked Angie's List to see if his company was on the List and was glad to see that his company is indeed on the List and has many wonderful reports. I called Albert the next morning at 7:05 and he was at my house by 8:40 a.m. He came in and assessed the situation, reconnected the hose to the sprayer, fixed a drip problem due to worn out washers, and tighted the entire faucet unit. It took about 40 minutes and he was on his way. He was such a pleasure to work with and so very nice, personable and professional. Albert is now "my plumber" and I will call him with all of my plumbing needs.
Description of Work: Reconnected kitchen faucet sprayer to water line hose, replaced worn out washers and tightened faucet unit.

water heater repair
 + -1 moreI called Albert and Son Plumbing and told them that my waterheater is leaking and I have water is all over the garage. He came 20 minutes later, stopped the water running and explained to me what happend. He showed me the leak and mentioned that we need a replacement because our old waterheater is over 13 years old and broken from inside. He was able to give me a quote right away and an discount too! He and his son completed the work in 2 hrs., took the old waterheater and replaced all the plastic pipes with cobald pipes (better and effectiver than plastic pipes - specially in winter!). They both worked quick and where very friendly. Albert was very helpful with cleaning up the mess. I can recommend this company without any hesitation, because Albert knows his job perfect, doesn't try to sell you anything and explains every detail to you. He also gives you good product recommendations (we checked it via Internet) and his price for his work is more than fair!

 + -1 moreCame out to quote job and was the lowest bidder out of three quotes. This was a simple bathroom remodel so I just needed someone to do the work and insure no leaks. Each time I called him he agreed to show up the following day at the time slot I needed due to work commitments.
Description of Work: Second bathroom remodel. First visit - Roughed in and capped off 5ea. 1/2" supplies, adjusted 1 1/2" drain for double sink, and roughed in new shower valve with outlets. Second visit - Installed 5ea. 3/8" supply 1/4 turn valves, installed all shower/tub fixtures and changed out drain and overflow covers.

 + -1 moreCalled Albert and explained problem in my kitchen. He said he was not sure if he would be able to make it to my home that day, but if the job he was on went quick, he would call me. I received a call back from Albert around 4:30 and he said he was on his way. Albert arrived and went right to work clearing the clog. The job was done in about 30 minutes. He explained what I needed to do to keep my drains running clean, and gave me a 6 months warranty on his work.

They arranged a time to inspect the old water heater and gave me a call when the water heater arrived. They showed up on time, installed the new water heater, removed the old one and completed the job on a Saturday morning before noon.

 + -1 moreAlbert has done several things for me, including the first time where he figured out it was the city's issue and not mine and didn't charge me. However, he was not available to clean a kitchen drain for me that was backed up and sent a friend of his instead. That guy charged me $150 and didn't fix the drain and told me I was going to have to do all sorts of work that would cost $750+ to fix it. Instead, I hired another plumber who fixed my drain. I writing this report to warn people NOT to use anyone Albert recommends. Only hire him if Albert himself can do the work. I like Albert, but if he can't do it, call someone else.
