My home was built in 1966 in Durham, so we are looking at an older garage door installation. One spring broke while I was in the garage and a piece of metal flew off the spring with what sounded like a bullet. I called Louis on a Monday and explained the problem, I was able to talk with him immediately. He suggested I call him back that night after my work with the measurements and description of the garage door springs and equipment. It turns out that my door is not a standard size, it is a one off model. I was able to take off work Wednesday so Louis could come out to my house, measure the door and inspect the springs. He was able to order replacements springs in Raleigh, he also pointed out that I had a damaged pulley. That afternoon Louis called back and told me that Louis' helper Leon was coming out with his work truck and the parts. He got the job finished in about 2 hours, including lubricating the entire door and testing the limits of the opener. I think $225 is a reasonable amount for me to pay to save my weekend of working on a broken door which I may or may not have been able to fix correctly the first time.

He repaired my garage door after he completed work at my neighbor's home. He was very conscientious and generous, and reasonably priced.

It doesn't get any easier than this. I called Louis from work about coming over for an estimate. He went by my house that day, looked at the door and left me a brochure. I spoke to him over the phone that night, picked out a door with medium insulation, gave him a few measurements he couldn't get because I wasn't home. Three days later while I was at work, he installed the door and opener--we were particularly happy with the door, because he made sure that it was sealed all the way around, unlike our first door. When I got home that evening, we spoke again on the phone--everything was in perfect working order. I finally met Louis the next day when I gave him a check for the job--extremely nice, personable man--and he did a fantastic job on the garage door!

I first used Louis in 2009 to replace my garage door; he was recommended by my real estate agent. He was cheaper by hundreds of dollars than other companies I got estimates from. He did excellent work and he is super nice, professional, and responsive. Then I called him again in Jan. 2010 when the garage door opener stopped working. He replaced it for $125, with an opener I had bought from Lowe's - well worth it considering how many hours it took. Then he came by today when I called, within an hour (!), because the opener wouldn't work. He figured out that it is an electrical issue not related to the door opener. Bummer. I wish Louis could handle all my home maintenance. He is just so nice, accommodating, reasonable, and good at what he does.

I used two other garage door people and he was by far the best. I wish I had called him in the first place. He explained clearly what he was doing and he was very quick and efficient. He was also very courteous and helpful.
