It was great experience--no concerns.
Description of Work: I had over 40 windows replaced in a high-end home. Anderson is a high end replacement window so there were expensive--about $70K. All were custom made and most had transoms. We were very pleased- the installation was smooth and professional. In fact, we made a second order to have doors replaced by them next!

The work went reasonably well but the installers seemed very rushed and were somewhat careless with the installation. Several follow-up repairs by the RBA rep fixed all the problems, but the entire project stretched out for several months. We are very happy with the quality of our Andersen windows and are especially happy with our choice of casement windows.
Description of Work: Fifteen Andersen window inserts replaced twenty five existing windows. Andersen windows : nineteen casement windows, three double hung windows, and three picture windows with fibrex frames.

The cost was expensive. The first they did one set. A couple of years later, I had them come back to do two smaller sets. I have a problem with the first job. I received different instructions for the second job. It wasn't a problem but I didn't receive instructions the first time I got a problem. Their responsiveness was good.

I have been in my house for 25 years so when I decided to upgrade, I wanted the very best within reason. After searching different possibilities, I went with Renewal by Anderson. I replaced old sliding glass doors with beautiful French Doors that I absolutely love! I have been very satisfied with my doors especially for: the modern look, the way they protect my wood floors from the sunlight and the energy savings. The sales staff and installers were all very professional and kept to my budget and worked in a timely fashion. I recently called the office and asked them to come back out to tweak the doors a little and they did so right away and with no fuss. I really appreciated the follow up. The price point on these doors was at the top of my budget, but I have certainly gotten my money's worth in quality and design. I can not reiterate enough my satisfaction with the product provided and the service rendered. Thank you Renewal by Anderson!

This salesman used a very high pressure approach to try and earn our business, but failed miserably.First he showed a picture from a catalog and said that would be the one used to replace mine, but it did not look like mine. The salesman spent too much time bashing other companies and their products. The final straw was when he said that proving a written estimate was against company policy. I don't do business with contractors who want give a written estimate. I really liked the sample window he showed me and thought it was a good product.
Description of Work: Salesman came to house and gave an estimate to replace a large picture window. What the salesman did not do was give a written estimate. He stated that it was against company policy for him to even write down down the total number.

The windows selected are complete new windows made of their new composite material. They appear to be of exceptional quality. We have had to change the order twice. The first time was as a result of removing a new front door from the order (our decision) and adding a window they missed on the first quote. We also decided to upgrade to a full new window instead of the slip in replacement, primarily because of the condition of some of our sills and brick mold (rotten.) There was no pressure to upgrade to the more expensive window - in fact it was our choice and added several thousand dollars to the order. Our salesman was friendly, knowledgeable and represented Anderson well.

They were very expensive but they were excellent. Renewal by Andersen of Central North Carolina is a local franchise. They have Andersen Windows but that is separate in some way from the main company. My experience with them was wonderful. It came to about $1,000 a window which was quite pricey versus about the same thing for half the price with another window company but I am probably going to have to use them again in the future if the need arises.

The job was performed by independent contractors. They did an excellent job. Because of the southern exposure I opted for "sunglass" on five of the nine windows. I was stunned by the cost, however. Now I always get a second or third estimate for any work performed at my home. I blame myself for moving ahead without doing that on this project. This year I had all the downstairs' windows replaced, admittedly an easier project, as none of these had rounded tops. Despite having three additional windows downstairs, (a total of twelve) the cost was less than half what I paid for the upstairs windows. I also did not get "sunglass" as most of the downstairs windows were on the back or side of the house. Still, I would have had these windows replaced sooner had I realized that the cost would be so much less than I anticipated. My earlier experience with the amount I paid Renewal by Anderson had scared me off.

Teresa Coe, the Renewal by Andersen salesperson, arrived on time for the initial appointment. She had plenty of accurate info. We had the whole house quoted, 16 windows and two doors in all. The total was around $22,000, a lot of money for sure for a 2200 sq. ft. house. However, we've had experience with both Andersen replacement windows as well as Pella replacements in other homes we own. Both are of the highest quality and it comes down to features and the installer. We've seen more than our share of dissatisfied people that bought no-name replacement windows and we are not about to go down that path. Anyway, we decided to go with the Andersen deal where you replace five or so windows per year and they lock in the initial price for the whole house. Ricky Heath and his installation crew arrived as scheduled and by 2PM, the install was complete. They cleaned up outside the house and left it cleaner than when they arrived. Very professional job. The thing that swung us to Andersen was that they followed up on our initial enquiry and were very responsive. We likely would have gone with Pella if they had been even remotely responsive as they have always been our go-to replacement window. We have no regrets and are very happy with our new windows. Some friendly advice: You get what you pay for, especially when it comes to replacement windows. DO NOT SKIMP!

I initially contacted Renewal by Andersen because I received a flyer in the mail which offered savings per window. I made an appointment along with 2 other companies. The salesman arrived for a 2 hour appointment and was very knowledgable and professional. He told me right off the bat that I would not find the same quality in any other window primarily because their windows used a material called Fiberex while all other companies were still using vinyl. He also explained that Renewal by Andersen only offered one level of quality. This was why their windows would be more expensive than other companies. He proceeded to tell me about the company, it's history, it's manufacturing methods and why Fiberex was decided to be their chosen material. He then demonstrated the windows, which are beautifully made, very solid with a lot of thought into insulation. I have 28 windows that I wanted to replace, he explained that I did not have to replace them all at one and the price would remain the same for 5 years as long as I purchased at least 5 windows each year. This sounded great. He did his calculations and after all discounts were applied, I was going to replace 10 windows for approx $1,200 per window. Initially, I thought wow, but then thought that would be ok, and I could do 5 a year and be done. I told the salesman that I still needed to talk to a couple of other companies, he then explained that some of the discounts were only if I signed as an "initial visit discount". This amounted to the cost of 1 window, so tough decision. Anyway, when I calculated the total cost of the 28 windows, it was going to cost around $34K. I did speak to the two other companies, one I discounted immediately and the other had promise. I decided that although I would have been very happy with the Andersen windows, i probably didn't need windows of this quality, especially as some of the windows were small bathroom windows and 4 others were in the garage, but I didn't have a choice as I mentioned earlier. So bottom line is that I think Andersen windows are great if you want top quality windows and plan to live in your house for a long time.

The sales rep. was a bit put off by the modesty of our house in Harrington Grove (North Raleigh). He kept name dropping of local celebs who chose their windows for their remodels. His quote was significantly more than the seven others we considered. I never got a sense that his windows were significantly better than others, but they were priced like a super premium product. We did not choose Anderson Renewal for our project. I do not regret this decision.

I cannot be more pleased with the product, the process, and the professionalism of all of the employees that I dealt with, including the project manager/sales rep, production manager, and the installers. I plan to stay in my house forever, so I wanted a product that was of the highest quality, the most technologically advanced, and looked good. I got all those things, but at a very high cost. In this case, it's a matter of getting what you pay for. They are the best. My installers were John and Jed. If you are lucky enough to have John and Jed work in your house, then you are lucky enough. They were very friendly, polite, professional, punctual, and did meticulous work. I'm continuing with other renovations in the house, and I wish that I could convince them to do it all for me. They were both independent contractors befoe joining Renewal by Anderson, and RBA is very luck to have them. I hope they are appropriately compensated! There was only one glitch -- the wrong style window was installed (an insert window rather than a full replacement picture window). The mistake was immediately acknowledged and a new window was ordered and installed. Problem was solved. I was still waiting for the patio doors, so there were no delays except for weather. I recommend RBA, and especially the installation team of John and Jed without any reservation.

I would stay far away from them. You can go to one of the depot and order the same thing that they wanted to sell you. The salesman came and took all the measurements. I was surprised that they said that unless I signed the contract that day, it would be an exorbitant amount that I would have to pay. I didn’t use them. The guy called me four times after that saying that they could extend the offer period and are still sending me emails.

We appreciate all feedback and take our reputation in our community and commitment to quality customer service very seriously. It is regretable that you feel you were not dealt with in a profeesional manner, however the reasons you stated for your disatisfaction do need to be addressed. Firstly, at Renewal by Andersen we sell a custom line of Andersen windows that CANNOT be purchased anywhere else under any circumstances. We install our own windows and the product and labor warranty comes directly from Andersen. We also sell Andersen patio doors. These are, in many cases, also available through other sources. The primary difference is that we also install all of our doors and this is the ONLY way to get an Andersen product and labor warranty on Andersen doors. Other sources cannot provide a labor warranty from Andersen. Instead of a "big-box" store installing the doors with a sub-contractor working on his own we use Andersen certified technicians who are trained to install our products. They work with our products everyday and understand how to install them to prevent voiding the product warranty due to improper installation. That is why we are the only company that can provide the Andersen labor warranty. Secondly, we do not penalize potential customers for not signing an agreement at the time of the consultation. We do however offer an initial visit discount if the customer chooses to make a purchase at that time. Our product consultation is always free to the customer, but if we make repeated trips to one home we incur the extra cost of sending a consultant to the same address several times e.g. fuel and time, and we are able to visit fewer customers. We offer a modest incentive so that if the customer is interested at that time we can pass our savings along to them. This initial visit discount is not so great that anyone would call it the difference between affordable and exobitant. We do not feel that passing along our savings to our customers is in any way unprofessional. You have only to read the reports from customers who have actually done business with us to know that we are a dedicated team of professionals who care deeply about providing our customers with the best in quality and service. To your concern of price, we custom-build and install the finest windows you can put in your home. There is no product of any kind on the market, to my knowledge, where one can obtain the finest materials, best construction, and most experienced and highly-trained craftsmen for the cheapest price. In short, you get what you pay for.

Quoted us for 8 windows. One very large picture, one casement, and the rest double hung for $$$$$$11,500! Wow sticker shock, but if we signed the dotted line that evening we got a $1500 dollar discount. When we told him he was the first of several window companies to give quotes. His demeanor changed quickly. Very off putting personality.
Description of Work: Had a sales man come out for a demo. Not good a demo! Was very uptight. He lectured us. We wanted to split up the replacement of all the windows into 3 phases. But still insisted on measuring all 30 plus windows! He kept showing us prices of other window companies. He kept up the typical sales pitch of how good they were. But later my wife found out that the framing made out of some kind of special stuff was only warrantied for 10 years.

This is a posting based on a visit only; not on a purchase, installation or customer service. If you look further down at the postings based on purchases you will find that we are customer friendly and we take pride in listening to the customer’s needs. We are disappointed that this customer did not have a positive experience to the project consultants visit, as we certainly wish for each contact with a potential client to be a great opportunity to understand our products. We have quality control and training for our project consultants and tact and courtesy is job one.! The base component that this customer refers to is Fibrex, Andersen’s most innovative idea in window construction. This revolutionary composite combines the stability of wood with the low maintenance features of vinyl. Fibrex is warranted for 20 years, but has been found to last much longer.

Truthfully, I think their pricing is a bit high, but you get what you pay for. One thing that I didn't like was that I had to sit through a three hour presentation by one of their representatives. They told me that if I bought today, they'd give me a hundred dollars off per window. They weren't pushy, but you didn't have a choice. Basically, they did what they said they would and came when they said they would come with the exception of a time where there wasn't enough people to finish the installation, and the last stretch of the installation took three days. Their price is high, but you get what you pay for.

The sales rep, Tom Gauthier, was terrific! He made a detailed presentation of the product, had a great "brag" book and references were readily available. I also received a proposal from Pella, but the presentation by the Pella rep was lacking, and I asked for references and never heard back from the Pella rep. The Andersen references were overwhelming positive! Tom suggested splitting the replacements into two or three purchases to make the whole project a little easier to afford, and the pricing was guaranteed. The first installation went very well except for an immature crew member, who was a little disruptive, but he was no longer there at the second installation. Otherwise, I thought they worked well together and Ricky, the foreman, did a great job both times checking behind his guys and correcting any mistakes, all relatively minor. There was an issue with the length of the threshhold on the sliding glass door, but a longer threshhold was ordered and installed within a few weeks. The sliding glass door replaced an old french door, and the result is a room that must be 15 to 20 degrees cooler even with the summer sun shining directly on the door. The windows are a little pricy, but they look and perform great. The Fibrex material is heavy duty, and the quality of the product and installation is all I could ask for. I definitely feel that I got my money's worth!
