We contracted with Jim Perry of Customers Choice floor to refinish our marble bathroom flooring, tub enclosure and shower walls. The work was initiated on July 9, 2018 at a price of $2,188.38. Upon completion, it became quickly apparent that the workmanship was poor at best. After numerous phone calls, Mr. Perry agreed to come to the house and inspect the results and listen to our concerns. After meeting with us, he agreed to come back and correct the situation. A date was set for August 9, 2018 at 9 a.m. That day came and he did not show up nor have the courtesy to call and tell us he would not make it. Again, after numerous phone calls and messages left, August 21, 2018 was scheduled for him to come and correct the terrible workmanship. Again he did not show up nor call to tell us he would not be coming. After more unanswered phone calls and subsequent messages, August 30, 2018 was agreed as the date he would come repair the floors. Again, no show, and no phone call. Continued to call again every day with no return phone calls. In addition to the damage done to our marble floors, we also pointed out to Mr. Perry before final payment that he had made numerous stains on our bedroom carpet flooring. He agreed that it was his mistake and took $188.38 off the final bill to pay for carpet cleaning. We scheduled a professional carpet cleaning but they were unable to remove the material that had stained the carpet. It will be an estimated $2,000 to replace the carpet for which we expect to be fully reimbursed by Customers Choice Floor Covering. On August 27th, 2018, we attempted to send a certified letter to Mr. Perry at his place of business in Fuquay Varina outlining our concerns and expectations for remedies. The letter was not accepted and returned to the post office. We expect at the very least to have our bathroom returned to an acceptable condition and our bedroom carpet replaced. If this is not done to our satisfaction, we have no choice but to pursue a claim against Mr. Perry and Customers Choice for the damages done. Additionally, if the bathroom cannot be returned to an acceptable condition, we will be forced to replace all the marble and will again pursue a claim against Mr. Perry and Customers Choice for expenses incurred. From reading other complaints against Mr. Perry and Customers Choice on other on line review sites and at the Better Business Bureau, it appears that he has a history of substandard work and not being responsive to customers requests to have the work performed to an acceptable standard.

Response from Customers' Choice Floor Covering
Customer wanted high-end floor at low cost to him. We did the best we could to accommodate his budget and lowered the price from $3,000 to $2,400 after much back and forth as to what we could offer him, customer satisfaction being our top priority. Customer then stood over shoulder throughout install, attempting to tell our 20+ year professionals how to complete their work. Customer took over a week to pay balance owed, at which point customer complained of grout on baseboards left by our crew. Went back to customer's house free of charge & discovered it was not grout on baseboards left by our professionals, but paint from a job prior to our enterance into the home, not completed by our business. Installed two transitions from tile to wood at NO cost to customer. Customer then requested a change to solid oak transitions. After explaining there would then be a charge for the solid oak transitions, customer was again extremely unsatisfied. Explained to customer that he would have to find another business that offered free solid oak transitions, as we do not.
