Description of Work: provider stiffed me twice; once his cousin died, then it rained - no reschedule. w/ all the disappointments I've had I'm to the point I don't trust Angie recommendations unless I've had previous positive experience w/ them. Angie, u need 2 clean up your act; getting really sloppy.

Ms. [Member Name Removed], This is totally untrue. The last message we received from you just a couple of days before our appointment was the following: "Michael, it turns out that My partner taked care of the leaves in the gutter this week, can I apply the credit I have with you for gutter cleaning to pressure washing my decks?" We let you know that because the services where different that you could not apply credit to another service, which is stated on your purchase order, but that you could use this for a future gutter cleaning. -Michael Hall

Description of Work: Oak City cleaned out my gutters. I thought I had some damage that needed repairing, so I asked him to check while he was up there. He said that everything looked great - my gutters were clear and he did a great job of cleaning up. I would definitely recommend Oak City.

Description of Work: This was offered as a deal of the week. I accepted this deal in Jan. 2016 (e). It was several weeks later when Oak City Services responded that this deal was not authorized by his company. I accepted this and commiserated with him. I told him that I worked at home and my schedule was very flexible and would work with his schedule. He agreed and I didn't hear from him again until I called him sometime around the middle of April. When the company contacted me, he said that he just forgot about me. Again I accepted his apology and even agreed to pay his regular price. He scheduled my window cleaning, but then was re-scheduled several times. It was eventually scheduled for Sunday, May 22nd. I admit the weather had been rainy, but I have received no communication since then. I'm done!!! |

Ms. [Member Name Removed], This deal, as you stated, was not authorized by me or anyone associated with Oak City Home Services. I told you this as soon as we received notification of your purchase order. Angie's List ran this without our permission, which is why the deal was canceled as soon as it came to attention. The deal alone was more than 50% off of our price for that work, and on top of that Angie's List took 40% of what was sold. So, as you can imagine we were not very happy about this deal being run through our account. We contacted you the same day of your purchase, and asked for your service address and contact information. The following day you replied with this information and I let you know that this was an unauthorized deal and that it would be a good amount of time before we would have the ability to schedule for this reason, and that you would be able to receive a refund if this timing did not work for you. You mentioned that you were in no rush and that we could schedule at our convenience. We were, and are, very busy and I did forget about this deal altogether. Again, this unfortunately was not a deal that was authorized by Oak City Home Services, and therefore was very low on our priority list. When we did schedule for May we had several rain delays. You confirmed the last appointment, but when we showed for the service no one was home. Because of everything outlined above we cannot reschedule this service again. This deal has been a huge headache for everyone involved; except Angie's List, who has made a profit from this with doing nothing. I apologize that this has been a frustrating experience for you. It certainly has made us reconsider how we will do business with Angie's List in the future. -Michael Hall

Description of Work: The gutter cleaner showed up days late, and seemed to have forgotten that I was on his schedule. I asked him if when he cleaned the gutters, he would take the refuse with him. He was reluctant, but I finally convinced him to do it. I would NOT use this service ever again.
