The Cleaning Authority

I completed a free quote online for services and was emailed stating I would be contacted within a few days. I called and left four messages stating I would like to begin service and no one ever called me back. This was very disappointing because the price seemed to be very fair and they are licensed and bonded. Moving on to find another company.

No problems or complaints. We were satisfied with service.

The Cleaning Authority has been cleaning my house weekly since 2009, and I have been greatly pleased with the quality and consistency of the service. Each week there is a different major focus on a rotating basis, but the cleaning is so good overall, that I have never felt that the areas that were NTO focused on were neglected. This team is so much a part of my regular household activity that I haven't thought of this as a service to recommend on Angie's list until Gary, the owner, left me a message asking if I would mind talking to potential customers about my experience. I would LOVE to tell people how well pleased I am! And furthermore, even though in past years cleaners that I have used have been less than perfectly honest, I have had no such problems with The Cleaning Aurthority team. I have had only two teams during all these years, and feel like I know these ladies. There are periodic unannounced inspections during the cleaning for quality control. There has only been ONE occasion that I have ever had to ask that a cleaning process be looked at for improvement, however. If you want reliable, price competitive, high quality cleaning, TCA is the company for you.

I called and Gary came (on Time) to give us a free quote and explain his program. We agreed on a program but did not set a date for service. When my Navy vet offered to pay for the cleaning we contacted Gary and were able to get service in a very short (5 days) period of time. The crew came early and waited for us to get home, then went right to work. 3 hours later a very clean house.

The initial cleanings were great. They did a very through job and each week have continued to do well. Abby is no longer there, and Gary Evankovich has taken over. He made sure we were constantly happy and took every consideration that we had to heart. There was one cleaning where our master bathroom was not cleaned like it should have been. They came back and cleaned it. They always straighten our beds and our kids rooms even though we have picked them up before they came. They have continued to do a good job for us. Their price is also very competetive.

First was great. Abbie was agreeable to meeting early evening to do the sales pitch and price out the job. First two cleanings were good. Not great, but acceptable. Then it started to go down hill. When I complained about the cobwebs (large enough to hold an avacado), the lack of vacuming between furniture, the fact that chairs had not been moved to mop), they did offer to send someone out to 'reclean'. My husband happened to be home and offered to show the cleaner what needed to be done. The woman's response ' I have a list, I don't need you'. Needless to say, NOTHING that I complained about was addressed. I called again and asked that she come out and I would SHOW her what wasn't done. Well, you would have thought I was asking her to walk down the streeet naked. She wouldn't come in the evening when I was home, she wouldn't come in the morning before work. She wanted to just come over and reclean. But as I pointed out to her, she wasn't able to do that the first time with verbal instructions, how could she do it the second time? She finally agreed to come by 7-7:30 ish to look at the problem. And to my surprise (not) at 6:30 that morning I got email stating that they would come out to discuss issues ONLY between 9am and 1pm, Monday - Friday. And when I reminded them that they were more than willing to come out to do sales calls after those hours, the response was 'oh well, we only do business during business hours'. To which I promptly responded with the cancellation of the service, demand that my house key be returned that day and offered them my congratulations that business was so good that they felt they did not need to retain clients. Avoid like the plague!

She did a great job marketing her company but when we had a problem she was nowhere to be found. She was told not to use beater bar vacuums on the oriental carpets but when I was home one day during a cleaning they were being used. The cleaners used a scowering pad on our new stainless steel cook top and scratched it. We tried for many weeks to contact the owner, but she was unresponsive so we fired her.

Abby Crasnow did a great job marketing her company, however her employees aren't keeping up. Also, I called them to do an estimate for my Mom's house and they never followed up. We will be discontinuing their service and I'm looking for a new service as I type.

The estimator/owner was very friendly and had terrific communication/materials to provide. Everything was so organized. I was referred to Abby from a friend of my Mom's, who is very particular on details, so I was ready to be impressed, and I was. We scheduled our first two detail cleanings, which brought our house up to their rotation standards. They have a format where a detail clean is done on one of 4 key areas each clean and then a general clean is done everywhere else. So far we are VERY pleased. There is always a crew of two people. There is a quality check done by the manager (not the same as Abby). The communication on what was done during the cleaning is left for me on my kitchen counter, as well as I get reminder phone calls before the visit. So far, I am very pleased with this service. I've had several services since in Charlotte, and The Cleaning Authority (this franchise owned by Abby C.) is by far the best I've ever had.

The first two cleanings are in depth cleanings of specific areas, with special attention paid to these specific areas, but the rest of the house receiving general attention. After that, the whole house is on the rotation system, with no area ever going disregarded. If I ask, they will also clean rooms that I've requested to not always be cleaned (like a guest room). We're neat people, but this gets the cleaning out of the way. If something's left undone, correcting it within 24 hours is easy and free.
