The shutters turned out great. It did take close to 3 months from order to installation, but there was a difficult arched window involved, so I did not think the timing was unreasonable.

Eight years ago I had window shutters installed for all windows in my house by The Blind Man. Service at that time was excellent. I recently called them to have shutters installed on my sliding doors. From the first phone call to the installation of the new shutters, all employees gave excellent, prompt service. I am happy that the company is still providing the same excellent service that I experienced eight years ago. The installers were very professional and courteous, left no mess. I definitely recommend The Blind Man.

They came out as scheduled for consultation. They had tons of fabric options and were extremely helpful in the process of choosing style. Blind came in within expected timeline and they set up install appointment that was easy and convenient to my schedule.

Throughout the past 7.5 years they have had to come out numerous times to either stretch the blind, balance to make even, fill or replace the string. Remember, and quot;these have a lifetime guarantee!and quot; What no one told me was every time I called them for assistance there was a service charge. I paid the service charge over and over again. The last I called them was few months ago. I first talked to a salesperson and when I told her about the product, I heard those words......and quot;they are such a bad product, I would NEVER RECOMMEND them to a customerand quot;. Then I was transferred to the owner's daughter. What an experience that was. One I would never want someone to go through. It seems I had used all of my and quot;lifetime warrantiesand quot;. She did have the manufacture contact me, who came out. Spent over fours trying to straighten them out. That lasted two days and here we are again. I decided to throw them away, and replace with blinds. I know who I would not use as dealing with his daughter is one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Wish me luck....maybe I will get a and quot;lifetime warrantyand quot;.

"We have only charged this customer a trip charge once since the blinds were purchased in 2006. This occurred in 2013 which was the last time she stated she needed a repair done.The reason they were uneven, is because the windows were so badly out of square. We tried to shim the brackets to keep the shades from appearing to pull up crooked. We did contact the representative from the manufacture to see if there was anyway to shorten the stings on one side to accommodate the inconsistent window. The manufacture was going to handle the issues with the cords breaking. Mrs. Brent called in May of 2014 to have our decorator meet with her in her home to replace the blinds. However, she did not order new blinds. No one from The Blind Man, Inc. has spoken with Mrs. Brent since this time. If there were other issues since then, we were unaware of them. All products do have a lifetime warranty. However, after a year, we do charge a service charge for our installer to come to your home. The labor and parts are completely free. If the customer chose to bring the blind to our office, there would be no service charge at all. We have never informed a customer that they have "used up all of their lifetime warranties". Each time a decorator meets a customer in their home, their vehicle is fully stocked with all samples of the products we carry. If the customer requests a particular product, we bring that in to start with. We offer full design services if a customer needs advice on which type of window treatments would work best for them. This customer also ordered shutters, so the cell shades were not the only product she was shown. She was also quoted at the same time for pleated shades. She chose the cellular shades.The decorator who met with this customer has a sales history of this products being the 3rd most sold. She didn't inform Mrs. Brent that this was a "Bad Product". The statements made by this customer are incorrect. We do have records stating these events. Mrs. Brent did not want to pay the trip fee after she had already agreed to pay this charge prior to the service date. She spoke to the Office Manager, who is the owners daughter, and got very upset when she was told she would still be responsible for this charge. The installer did everything that he was supposed to do, and the shade was repaired."

The listed price is minus sales tax. I originally came accross this company via Costco. Sales rep arrived on time and reviewed our options. This was a Graber product and made in USA, which we liked very much. Took about six weeks for the product to arrive. The installer arrived on time on the arranged day and did an excellent job of installation. The mounting screws were caulked as was the line between frame and wall. Since we do not have a wood framed window, an inside mount was impossible. The representative says you must always do an outside mount for dry-wall-finished window frames as they are never square. I will be painting the inside of my dry-wall-finished window frames white for a more finished look. They are beautiful and make my home look very upscale. We probably will not have any window treatements since the outside mount looks so finished already and don't want to cover them up. I will be calling this company back in the future to install shutters on remaining windows.
