DO NOT USE TARHEEL APPLIANCE under any circumstance! If a home warranty sets you up with them do everything you can to get out of it! They are clueless, I’m sure the only way they’re still in business is by scamming home warranty companies and their customers. They could care less about your time, and they have NO IDEA WHAT THEY’RE DOING. They ordered the wrong parts multiple times. The final straw was they ordered a part that wasn’t compatible with my freezer leading my claim to be classified as uncovered. I truly believe that they did this on purposes to make money for coming out (which they didn’t they just called) and not have to deal with my fridge because they had no idea what they were doing. If you have to use them under some kind of warranty keep track of everything, do your research and don’t be afraid to question the home warranty company if you’re denied. My home warranty has set me up with another appliance repair company.
Response from Tarheel Appliance Repair
"Our tech was dispatched by her warranty company on 4/16/18 to diagnosis an over freezing issue. Reported back to her warranty company and parts were approved for ordering. Went back out on 4/24/18 to install those parts. However yes there was a wrong part. The door seal was not the correct one needed. We apologized for that. It does happen from time to time. When that happens we do try and work with the customer's schedule. And we did do that with Ms. [Member Name Removed] on 5/1/18. She has requested as late as possible on each service visit. My tech was ready to go to her earlier that she needed on the first and he did accommodate her by waiting for the time that was better for her. The part was installed and the customer signed off on the paperwork as job completed and customer is satisfied with the repairs. I apoglize that she started having problems soon after. It is her warranty's policy to have a recall work order initiated. We Advised her of that. We received the recall on May 21st and had the tech back out on May 23rd. Again submitted our report to her warranty company. The tech did speak with GE tech support and we were advised to follow a service bulletin for a foam block with adhesive. The part was compatible with her unit as GE instructed our tech. The claim was denied because the part was not covered and had nothing to do with it being compatible with the unit. We have followed all guidelines of her warranty company and have tried to work with the customer on scheduling service visits. I am sorry that the part is not covered but that isn't Tarheel Appliance Repair's policy but her warranty company's policy."

The technician was on-time and very nice. He said he was going to have to order a part. After he left, the washing machine didn't work at all. We called Tarheel and got a VM callback saying, "You know - it's because of that issue". Then we had Labor Day Weekend with no callbacks or washing machine. The next week, we heard that they couldn't find the part. The washing machine is less than 2 years old. It's just sitting there. Something happened during their inspection that totally ruined the washer, but nobody at Tarheel will admit what happened.

Technician was very nice on the phone. I was not home when he came to repair; my 18yo was. The broken belt was left on the other side of the room on my shag, with dryer dirt EVERYWHERE. They repaired the dryer but left a disgusting mess that spread 20 ft. from dryer area.

Excellent. Repairman did a temporary fix until part is ordered. He will return next week to install part.

Called Tarheel appliance in September for repair of both appliances.  Our washer is less than a year old and arbitrarily leaks water.  Our refrigerator is also about a year old and needs replacement for freezer fan.
Overall, if LG wasn't paying for the repair under warranty, I would have gone with another more responsive and professional appliance repair company a long time ago.  Scheduling with this company is a nightmare they are routinely 3-4 weeks out and even when you are lucky enough to get an appointment its a 5 hour window with no flexibility.  When they have to reschedule, they still move you out another 3 weeks for their next available appointment.  Same story when you have to make a change.  I also have minimal confidence the repair I'm waiting on is going to fix the problem as water does not appear to be leaking out the front door as the repairman indicated.  Researching the issue online indicates its typically a valve problem with the front load washers.
So bottom line, I'd steer clear of LG appliances going forward as their quality is questionable and the company's they use for repairs of their products are unprofessional and highly questionable.
I definitely would not recommend this company if you are paying for service out of your own pocket!!!

For every 5 calls to this company I caught someone live or got a call back. Typically took a week. Almost 2 months, with no refrigerator, and complete runaround. We just went and bought a brand new one to replace it and were going to have to put a very expensive refrigerator in our garage once repaired. Almost two months goes by and they say the part is no longer made, they will need to find a refurbished one. That is funny, I could google and find that out in 5 minutes so why 2 months? A month later, they can't find a refurbished part and fix it, period. The hassle that I had communicating with them and getting any answers was horrible. I suppose 2-10 is paying them low as a contractor and so I am a low priority. But I do know I will ensure passing on my experience is a high priority for me.

Upon arriving the techician admitted that he was unaware how to repair the item, but turned the gas off, checked for leaks, took portions of the range apart, and concluded that the smell has gone away. An hour later, we had an emergency call to Piedmont Gas to check the range. Piedmont concluded that the gas issue was related to inside the range (an area that the tech did not inspect, but should have) whatever Tarheel did made the problem worse and my home was engulfed in gas fumes. Piedmont shut the gas range down, due to being a fire hazard and we have not used since.
I called Tarheel back, furious, they said they would send a tech out the following Monday. I told them I would not be home but my wife would be. We agreed on a time and left it at this. Monday comes around, I received three missed calls from Tarheel asking for confirmation that someone would be home (despite already agreeing with the Tech the previous Friday that my wife would be home and I was out of town). The third call stated that would not show because I never called them back.
I called them back 7 times, and never received a human being. My final call I left a voicemail expressing my disappointment. Tarheel has not called me back, but of course cashed the check I provided during the first service.
I would never use this company, as I consider them unreliable and incompetent.

When he arrived, he was told a wire had broken from motor wiring. He checked it, but he did not detect it. He went to his personal vehicle he had arrived in and retrieved a mallet and large screw-driver and began hitting the motor. I stopped him and asked what was he doing. He then stopped and put the machine back together and said he thought it needed a new control panel!  I asked him to leave.

Two visits and seven hours later, the appliances are still not fixed!  Hardwood floors are scratched up.  Water was all over the floors.  The appliances are worse than they were before.  Extra parts were left all over the carpet.  They also bent the dishwasher door.

Inexperienced technician, didn't know the what to do or how to do it. Did not come prepared, i.e.,evidently didn't review a manual on how to replace the part on the LG refrigerator. After the first visit, I contacted LG and asked them to send some one different which they did. That technician found that the part was not properly attached and reported it as such. When I specifically asked Tarheel not to send the technician out again after the first visit, that technician showed up unannounced three hours later to try to fix the problem that was created by his first visit. I asked to speak to service manager and though I never heard from him, Tarheel office manager indicated to me that he tried to call me twice. He did not leave a voice mail message.

Our home warranty has referred us to Tarheel Appliance on several occasions. In an earlier instance we had a dryer, and it took over 3 weeks to determine that the dryer could not be repaired. Several visits, several part replacements, multiple reschedulings, parts mix-ups, etc. After about a month without a dryer and no patience left we put an end to it.
Recently they were scheduled to come and work on one of our kitchen appliances. Did not show up as the technician got stuck on the job before us. The next morning I had to make multiple calls to the office to arrange a new appointment. The best they could do was 3 days later. Not acceptable in my opinion, especially if you miss your own appointment....

Tech showed up on time and was professional on January 25th.   After hooking up his machine to the refrigerator he concluded that I would need to replace the compressor and the approx. cost of $450 with two hours of labor.   He mentioned that this was just an estimate and he would ask their office to call me with an actual cost.   On Monday someone from the office called to verify the year of the unit and told me that they would get back to me.   I never heard from them again!!!

In the mean time I suspected that there was another problem and not my compressor since I had movement on the compressor and it was still generating heat.   I jumped on my computer to research the problem and decided that I needed a compressor relay.   The cost of this part was $35, not a BIG risk if it didn't work, right?   So the part came in, I replaced it myself in 35 minutes and guess what.....my wine refrigerator was working better than ever.   Today is April 17th and the refrigerator is still going strong.

I called on a Friday morning, to check Josh's availability.   Within 2 hours, Josh was calling that he had an opening in the afternoon, and could work me into his schedule.  Even though I was delayed from our appointment time by about 15 minutes (due to doctors appt), Josh stood by and waited at my house.
As soon as Josh pulled the top off of the machine, he saw the bad part.  He showed it to me, and gave me some info on how to search for the part on the internet myself.  I was happy to pay the diagnosis fee, and Josh was on his way.  Whole thing took about 15 minutes.  I was extremely satisfied.
BTW, I found  the part locally, picked it up, and repaired it  myself.

Repairman was courteous and professional.  He first came out to provide a quote to repair the ice maker in our freezer, and while he was here we had him look problems with our washing machine and stove.  Parts had to be ordered for all 3 repairs, and he returned and made all three repairs at once.

Everyone at this company has bent over backward to help me with my appliance issues.  They had to come to my home numerous times, because of requirements by Samsung.  They were prompt and very courteous and did the best they could to repair my appliances.  Refrigerator was repaired at second visit, but dishwasher had major issues.  They worked through the process and even came out a 5th time to take pictures of the interior of my dishwasher to send to Samsung, via Samsung's request.  They even went so far as to let me know that Samsung had determined that in regards to my 3 year old dishwasher, that I would get a partial refund for the unit since it was not repairable.  Thank you so much to everyone at Tarheel Appliance & Repair.  I will definitely recommend you to others!

Sean, our repair man is a ROCK STAR! We had a Samsung washer, which was less than a year old leak water and it turned our that our pump died and the bracket that fastens it to the machine broke. Sean really took his time to make sure our machine was fixed. He called Samsung, he ran test after test and he really gave us 110% of his time and attention. Our machine is running perfectly now, and with 2 kids under 3 years old, we do a lot of laundry. I would use Tarheel again in a heartbeat and am so happy Samsung introduced me to them for this repair.

The office staff was very friendly & professional when I called. The technician came out for a service call to see what was wrong with the dryer. He was very nice, fixed the dryer, and was finished in a short amount of time. I was very pleased with the price.
