"Our tech was dispatched by her warranty company on 4/16/18 to diagnosis an over freezing issue. Reported back to her warranty company and parts were approved for ordering. Went back out on 4/24/18 to install those parts. However yes there was a wrong part. The door seal was not the correct one needed. We apologized for that. It does happen from time to time. When that happens we do try and work with the customer's schedule. And we did do that with Ms. [Member Name Removed] on 5/1/18. She has requested as late as possible on each service visit. My tech was ready to go to her earlier that she needed on the first and he did accommodate her by waiting for the time that was better for her. The part was installed and the customer signed off on the paperwork as job completed and customer is satisfied with the repairs. I apoglize that she started having problems soon after. It is her warranty's policy to have a recall work order initiated. We Advised her of that. We received the recall on May 21st and had the tech back out on May 23rd. Again submitted our report to her warranty company. The tech did speak with GE tech support and we were advised to follow a service bulletin for a foam block with adhesive. The part was compatible with her unit as GE instructed our tech. The claim was denied because the part was not covered and had nothing to do with it being compatible with the unit. We have followed all guidelines of her warranty company and have tried to work with the customer on scheduling service visits. I am sorry that the part is not covered but that isn't Tarheel Appliance Repair's policy but her warranty company's policy."
Overall, if LG wasn't paying for the repair under warranty, I would have gone with another more responsive and professional appliance repair company a long time ago. Scheduling with this company is a nightmare they are routinely 3-4 weeks out and even when you are lucky enough to get an appointment its a 5 hour window with no flexibility. When they have to reschedule, they still move you out another 3 weeks for their next available appointment. Same story when you have to make a change. I also have minimal confidence the repair I'm waiting on is going to fix the problem as water does not appear to be leaking out the front door as the repairman indicated. Researching the issue online indicates its typically a valve problem with the front load washers.
So bottom line, I'd steer clear of LG appliances going forward as their quality is questionable and the company's they use for repairs of their products are unprofessional and highly questionable.
I definitely would not recommend this company if you are paying for service out of your own pocket!!!
For every 5 calls to this company I caught someone live or got a call back. Typically took a week. Almost 2 months, with no refrigerator, and complete runaround. We just went and bought a brand new one to replace it and were going to have to put a very expensive refrigerator in our garage once repaired. Almost two months goes by and they say the part is no longer made, they will need to find a refurbished one. That is funny, I could google and find that out in 5 minutes so why 2 months? A month later, they can't find a refurbished part and fix it, period. The hassle that I had communicating with them and getting any answers was horrible. I suppose 2-10 is paying them low as a contractor and so I am a low priority. But I do know I will ensure passing on my experience is a high priority for me.
I called Tarheel back, furious, they said they would send a tech out the following Monday. I told them I would not be home but my wife would be. We agreed on a time and left it at this. Monday comes around, I received three missed calls from Tarheel asking for confirmation that someone would be home (despite already agreeing with the Tech the previous Friday that my wife would be home and I was out of town). The third call stated that would not show because I never called them back.
I called them back 7 times, and never received a human being. My final call I left a voicemail expressing my disappointment. Tarheel has not called me back, but of course cashed the check I provided during the first service.
I would never use this company, as I consider them unreliable and incompetent.
Recently they were scheduled to come and work on one of our kitchen appliances. Did not show up as the technician got stuck on the job before us. The next morning I had to make multiple calls to the office to arrange a new appointment. The best they could do was 3 days later. Not acceptable in my opinion, especially if you miss your own appointment....
Tech showed up on time and was professional on January 25th. After hooking up his machine to the refrigerator he concluded that I would need to replace the compressor and the approx. cost of $450 with two hours of labor. He mentioned that this was just an estimate and he would ask their office to call me with an actual cost. On Monday someone from the office called to verify the year of the unit and told me that they would get back to me. I never heard from them again!!!
In the mean time I suspected that there was another problem and not my compressor since I had movement on the compressor and it was still generating heat. I jumped on my computer to research the problem and decided that I needed a compressor relay. The cost of this part was $35, not a BIG risk if it didn't work, right? So the part came in, I replaced it myself in 35 minutes and guess what.....my wine refrigerator was working better than ever. Today is April 17th and the refrigerator is still going strong.
As soon as Josh pulled the top off of the machine, he saw the bad part. He showed it to me, and gave me some info on how to search for the part on the internet myself. I was happy to pay the diagnosis fee, and Josh was on his way. Whole thing took about 15 minutes. I was extremely satisfied.
BTW, I found the part locally, picked it up, and repaired it myself.
