I had watched David's company do a major remodeling job for my neighbor and I was impressed with their efficiency and with the quality of their work. I asked David if he would tackle a small job for me and he readily agreed. The two panels and all the columns were removed one day and replaced the next day. Allowing for rain, his painters came on the first dry day, sanded all woodwork, caulked all seams and painted the entire porch area. I could not be more pleased with the quality of the work. David is hands-on, concerned about doing a satisfactory job and a nice guy to boot. NOTE: Price does not include materials which I furnished.
Description of Work: David's company replaced two deteriorating panels and four columns on my front porch and then painted the entire porch area.

David did a fantastic job managing and working on our house for the upgrade. He himself does precise work and he has an excellent crew of subs who obviously take a lot of pride in their work. David managed everything, consulting with us to determine what we would like to do. David also keeps very good records and invoices for everything he has done; this can't be underestimated. We were able to go thru his records to handle a problem with a different company at a later date. The crew cleaned up each evening before they left and hung plastic in the house to keep the dust down. They completed the work very quickly. It took around 4-5 weeks--however, this included the week of Thanksgiving and the chaos that comes around Christmas. David is also very good at offering advice on design and construction possibilities. He is not pushy about it; in fact, he will go out of his way to make sure he covers the details from various perspectives. Many of the ideas that we used in our kitchen came from David when he would offer an alternative suggestion for something we were contemplating doing. Due in large part to the kitchen upgrade, we were later able to sell our house for asking price within 8 days of listing. Everyone commented on the kitchen. If we ever needed to have a major remodel done again (or ever decide to build a custom home) we would absolutely use Surles Builders again.
Description of Work: Surles Builders (David Surles) completed a kitchen upgrade in our 1969 ranch house. It was an fairly extensive renovation. We had the floors replaced with hardwoods, removed a wall and had a custom archway built between the kitchen and den, had the entire kitchen and cabinets repainted, had new cabinet doors custom made and installed and painted, had a granite counter top and sink installed, had 4 foot high solid beadboard installed on the walls, had recessed lighting installed, had a new dishwasher and cooktop installed and had tile installed in our laundry room. Best 20K I've every spent.
