NEW IMAGE BUILDERS & SUNROOMS

Mr. Rice stated in contract he could finish project in 6-8 weeks after septic and footer dug. We gave him a check for half on 7/23/2005 as of today 12/09/05 we still have not passed framing inspection. Buyer beware. He bid the project under 30K - in Mecklenburg county you do not have to have a license under 30K. Due to owing county money he can not call in any inspections at this time until debt paid. The county has this contractor listed with a high failure rate. He has met no deadlines and always has many excuses. His quality is poor. We have lost money to him. The subs he uses are of poor quality also. His footer guys took 5 times to pass inspection. Framing has failed many times and the last time the territory manager for the county attended the inspection and documented work with digital photographs. This contractor is now threatening to place a lein on our home if we do not pay him full contract amount.

WE PAID $11,550 UPON SIGNING THE CONTRACT (ON 2/23) FOR A GARAGE THAT WAS TO BE BUILT IN 4-6 WEEKS. AT FIRST, THE WORK WAS DELAYED 3.5 WEEKS. MR. RICE MADE SEVERAL EXCUSES FOR DELAYING THE PROJECT, WHICH DIDN'T START UNTIL 3/20. WE PAID HIM THE SECOND INSTALLMENT OF $5,500 AND MADE HIM PROMISE TO FINISH THE JOB BY 4/30. WE MET HIM ON 4/17 AND HE PROMISED TO HAVE A CREW OUT THE NEXT DAY. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. WE CONTINUED TO CALL HIM BUT RECEIVED NO RESPONSE. OUR GARAGE IS STILL NOT FINISHED OR UNDER ROOF!. WE KEPT A LOG OF THE WEATHER AND DAYS AND HE HAS ONLY HAD HIS CREW OUT SIX DAYS IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS TO WORK ON THE GARAGE. ! WE HAVE CALLED MR. RICE SEVERAL TIMES AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED RESPONSE TO DATE.
