General Lawn Maintenance

John completely re-done the front yard which had little grass and numerous weeds and bare spots.  In the back yard, he added new plants, plant beds, bark, took out some old trees and bushes, used a stump grinder and overall did a wonderful job.

He is incredible. He is a great guy and does a great job. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I called this company and made an appointment for the owner (Andrew) to talk with me about performing necessary lawn/yard maintenance. I was very impressed when he asked what the previous service had done "wrong" so that he could make sure to not do that. He actually took notes! The gates to my back yard are a standard width, but he said he needed a wider space through which to get his "large" mower; he said he would do the necessary work--at his own expense--to widen one of the openings. I was even more impressed! I asked about a contract, and he said that we did not need one, that I could cancel the service at any time. Since I had checked him out on Angie's List before I made the appointment, I felt comfortable in hiring him that day. (I had talked with two other services.) The problem started pretty soon (not coming when he was supposed to come); I called and asked if the fact that he is in Huntersville and I am in SE Charlotte is causing this problem. He said that he has other customers in this area--it is not a problem. Another time he said that he has gotten so many new customers that he was trying to work out a new schedule. The problem continued. At one point, I emailed him to discontinue the service, but he replied that the contract calls for a 30-day notice of discontinuation, and I'd have to pay the next month whether he did anything or not. I knew that we did not have a contract, but I kept him on anyway because neither my husband nor I was able to do the lawn work at that time. This was about 3 months into our agreement, and the gate area still had not been widened--he said he had decided to use a smaller mower in the back yard. Late in the summer, I emailed Drew and asked him to trim the back yard shrubs (had not been touched all summer) because I was having a party in the back yard in a week. I asked him to please do it by a certain date--the day before the party--and he replied that he would do it. He came and cut the grass the day before the party, and started to leave. When I mentioned that he was supposed to trim the shrubs that day, he looked at me and laughed, saying he didn't have time. When I reminded him of our emails, he laughed again and said he didn't have time. Soon after that, I emailed him that I no longer needed his service. He replied, stating what the contract calls for. I replied to him asking that he send me a copy of a contract that I had signed. He replied saying that he was just going to forget about the 30-day notice, and he gave me a final date of service. He also said that apparently I had not paid him in August, so I owed him $140.00. I checked my payment history in my credit union's Billpay service, got the number of the check that had been sent to him, and emailed that number to him. I asked him to look around for unopened mail and to let me know if he found the check. I never heard from him again.

We pay them $140 monthly. We were paying $135 a month to a service that did not do everything that Drew does. Drew runs the company. Our yard is very shady and there is an area where the grass dies every year and this year we have grass there. One of the things that he has done differently is he has not cut the grass as short. He has made some suggestions. Even though we have grass it is not plush and lush. He just finished doing another woman's yard and he gave us a piece of the grass to put down and told us to water it and see what we thought about it. That is something the other company never did. We have been using them this year and they have done very well so far. I can't count on him being here the same day each week but he is normally here on a Thursday or Friday. His company is growing and he said that he is working on his schedule. We don't have a problem with anything. He did come one day and our yard was water logged so he didn't mow because he said it would have made ruts in the yard but he did trim and do the edging. He is friendly and personable. He's a nice guy.

Couldnt Ask For More!!! Called him Wednesday. He said he would be there Thursday Morning. Too make a Long Story Short. I woke up Thursday Morning and my GRASS WAS CUT LOOKING GREAT!! Slept through the entire service!! He didnt bother me once very quiet. In and Out. He didnt bother me for payment. He emailed me a invoice and i was more than happy to pay it asap. Even when my lawn mower gets fixed i still might not hesitate to give them a call!!

Andrew is very good. He is thorough and takes pride in his work. I highly recommend him.

I have a contract with them. They are very prompt. They don’t do a great job, but they are cheap. I use them as they are the cheapest among the providers.

I had forgotten to send him the property line layout, but he cut it exactly along the layout. This was all handled via email and phone. Perfect for me. He did a great job!

Attention was paid to service and I am satisfied with the work.

He comes out every Friday. It’s a one-man show. He is friendly, personable, and gets along really well. He is also very professional and does great work. He helps us with whatever we desire.

Andrew came out to give us an estimate within 24 hours and completed the work by the end of the same week. He came out and took a look at our beds and assessed what plants would work best based on sunlight exposure. We told him we needed something hardy,disease-resistant and low-maintenance and that's exactly what we got. We're very pleased with the shrubs---the company did what they said they'd do with no surprises, at a very reasonable cost.

Andrew did a fantastic job, both with our irrigation system and the landscaping improvements. During the process our fence was broken, and Andrew repaired it and stained it to match the rest of the fence. His landscape suggestions were great, his workmanship is excellent, and his rates are better than most. We will continue to use Andrew for any of our landscaping needs.
