Description of Work: Colores has sent us skilled workers in past that did a great job, but on this particular occasion owner sent unsupervised unskilled labor. They did not take adequate care in enclosing the work area so that the entire house needed to be cleaned up of dust from sanding. I had to tell them myself that they needed to put up plastic sheeting to protect surfaces and enclose dust. They did not use a sanding vac or did not have one. I as appalled at the disregard for my property. It was a very sloppy job and I spent hours and hours cleaning up after them, vacuuming everywhere, washing curtains, blankets and windows. It was a mess! When the owner was told, he was not sympathetic or apologetic.

Benjamin and his crew did an excellent job again. They moved everything to the center of the rooms and expertly covered the floors and furnishings. They finished the house in under 5 days. They cleaned up, removed all of the coverings and replaced everything to it's respective places, leaving the house as they found it. The results are fantastic. I couldn't recommend Benjamin high enough.

The entire project was a real pleasure and the results were stunning. Ben answered his phone the first time I called him. He was polite, reassuring, and confident. We made an appointment for him to make an estimate the next afternoon, a Saturday. He asked me to text him our address so he could find our house via his GPS. He called me back to assure me that he had received the text and to confirm that he would come by at the designated time. On Saturday he called an hour before the appointment to tell me he would be on time and confirm my availability. He showed up precisely when promised. During the estimate he asked very thorough questions. The amount he quoted for the project was fair. When I accepted it, he offered to start the work immediately. That was convenient for me, so I told him to go ahead. He started by covering everything ---the floors, countertops, tables, and all of the other things--- that was under his workspace. We had a pleasant conversation while he worked. When he finished phase 1 (as described above), he told me that he would like to return on Monday to do phase 2 (also as described above) but would need to confirm that with me on Sunday. Although the project was not finished yet, he cleaned up thoroughly. On Sunday afternoon, he sent me a text to let me know that he would be back at my house on Monday morning between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. He arrived only a few minutes past eight o'clock. This time, he had brought someone with him. Ben introduced us and then they went straight to work on phase 2. In addition to putting plastic wrap under their workspace, they also hung plastic sheeting over the door frames to contain the fumes and any paint spray. Their work ---set-up, sanding, painting, installing the new light fixture, tear-down, and cleaning--- took only about five hours. This includes moving all of the furniture out of the way. In addition, they worked so quietly and independently that I found it easy to focus on my own work while they were busy. The results were excellent. The ceiling looked brand new. The lines between the ceiling and adjoining walls were crisp, neat, and clean as were the ones around the vents, ceiling fans, smoke detector, chandeliers, and other lights. The new light fixture was hung with precision and care over the kitchen, perfectly aligned with the bar, sink, and counter below. I could not have been more satisfied. When I was formally invited to come downstairs and assess what they had done, Ben encouraged me to tell him if I found anything lacking so he could address it right away. But everything looked perfect for me, so there was no need for that. Ben and his coworker then informed me me that when they were moving our furniture, they had accidentally knocked over a decorative object (a ceramic bottle with the word and quot;vinegarand quot; on it that pairs with another one designated as and quot;oil') and it had split into two pieces. It would have been easy for less honorable people to push the two pieces together and pretend as if nothing had gone awry while they were working, but instead they called my attention to it. Ben offered to deduct an amount from the total that I would think would be fair for the bottle, but I refused. The whole set could not have cost more than $20 new and in any case I appreciated their honesty too much to haggle over something far less important that the good service he provided. After they cleaned up (which included using their own vacuum), Ben called again for me to say goodbye. He never asked me for his money, but I volunteered it right away. By my own choice I paid him in cash and he accepted the envelope without opening it. Even when I told him he should count it so he could be assured we were square, he told me that that wouldn't be necessary. Other than the light fixture (which I had purchased from a retail store before I had contacted Ben), his estimate included all of the materials which he also provided. These included the dry wall patch, spackling compound, primer, and paint as well as tools such as sandpaper, paint brushes and rollers, the small wooden beam that was installed to attach the drywall patch, etc. I was very impressed and pleased. The cost was reasonable, the conduct of Ben and his associate was both professional and commendable, the appearance was gorgeous, the care and concern were palpable, the communication was exemplary, and the project was completed much more quickly than I expected. I will definitely ask Colores to undertake other projects at our house and will wholeheartedly recommend it to family, friends, and neighbors.
Description of Work: Due to water damage that had occurred as the result of overflowing condensation from the air conditioning unit in our attic, our kitchen ceiling had an ugly brown stain on it. We needed to have the damage around the stain removed and the ceiling for the entire downstairs ---which, because of an open floor plan, is essentially one great room--- completely repainted. In addition we wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to have the professional contractor we hired to fix the ceiling also install a complicated light fixture over the kitchen area. This involved removing the canister light assembly that was part of the original home construction, closing the hole where that assembly had been, and rewiring the existing wire to the new fixture. The project was conducted in two phases. The first phase included removing the canister light assembly, taking advantage of the opening in the ceiling that created to inspect for otherwise unseen issues such as mold or sagging drywall, cutting out a piece of new drywall to cover the canister hole while allowing the wires to protrude, installing a small wood beam above the hole to attach the drywall patch, scraping the brown stain to remove the old brown bubbled paint, and applying a spackling compound to seal the drywall patch and cover the scraped-off area. The second phase, which occurred two days after the first phase, was composed of sanding the dried spackling compound, installing the new light fixture, and painting the entire downstairs ceiling.

Benjamin was extremely professional as were his workers. They were prompt and courteous. We had a lot of painting to be done and he has a large crew to knock it out. I was impressed with the prep work to the walls even before the paint brushes came out. They did everything we asked and more (moved a couple of heavy pieces of furniture for us).
Description of Work: Painted entire first level (laundry room, kitchen, living, family room), 2 story foyer, upstairs hallway, 3 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms. Removed old wallpaper from master bath - cathedral ceiling. did extensive prep to walls, filling in holes, caulking gaps.

It went very good. They were professional. They were neat and they cleaned up after themselves. They prepared before they actually did the work. Their price was competitive.
