Went well. I ended up having to call for an update on the timing after a few weeks, but after my call the TV was ready within a couple of days.

Very prompt service. Fee would have gone towards repair, but parts woud have cost as much a new TV.

Started seeing white pixels in my Mitsubishi DLP widescreen TV. Called the vendor and they offered to replace the DLP chip, but I had to pay for a professional, certified installer... and found Audio Video Doctor. The owner (Valentino) called me to let me know that the part usually took a few days to get in, and would call me and schedule a time as soon as he had the part. The day he got the part, he called and scheduled an appointment... he was RIGHT ON TIME. Very courteous and professional, brought all of the tools he needed, including flashlights, electronics vacuums, etc - was careful to remove his shoes before getting onto the carpet, thoroughly explained everything he was doing, showed me everything, gave me further advice on the care of my TV, cleaned inside it, replaced the part - and together, we tested everything out. He was quick, efficient, thorough, and friendly.
Two weeks after, we noticed a 'smudge' on the inside of the screen, I called him, he came out that night (RIGHT ON TIME) and cleaned the dust/smudge - no charge.
I would use him again in an instant - I would recommend him to friends and family.

Amplifier problem was identified, repaired and returned with one week of delivery to shop. Since the repair the unit continues to operate faultlessly. Audio Video Doctor is an owner operated company. The owner actually does the repairs! Turns out that I could have purchased a new replacement unit for about twice the amout of the repair, however, I know that the proprietor examined the entire unit for other potential problems.

Our overall experience was positive. Vasile is definitely an odd character, and if it was not for Angie's List, I would have had reservations of going to him. But I'm glad I did. I found that he does know his stuff. He's all about his work and definitely gets absorbed in the operations, so much so that he can come across as a little brusque (unintentionally). He's former military, which no doubt explains the source of his electronics knowledge and expertise. In the end, your TV gets fixed, the work is quality, and the business is fair and honest. I feel confident his repairs will keep our TV operative for a few more years, delaying the expense of a new one. Note: His work does come with a warranty. After bringing the TV back home, the same problems began to occur once again. We returned the TV to the Audio-Video Doctor to take advantage of the 90-day guarantee. He seemed a bit bothered that it still wasn't working and wanted to inspect. So, we left it with him, and after 2 weeks of no response, I called him for an update. He told me that the problem was related to a new issue that would cost $300.00 to fix. We told him that the repair was unnecessary, and that we would like to take advantage of the warranty. He said this would not be possible as he already installed parts that could not be returned. I told him that this was not my problem and that he was contractually obligated to honor the warranty. In the end, he still refused to honor the contract and service agreement, but offered a refund of $50.00 which I accepted. He seems to have knowledge about his craft, however he falls short with his customer service and his own contractual standards.

I called Valy and thought my lamp was dying, but when i explained the 'symptoms" he said it was my color wheel. I was not able to bring my TV to his shop, as it is too big. So he asked when I was available, and we made an appointment for the next day. He came on time, took him about 30 minutes.

He was very knowledgeable. There was a board in the TV that was leaking, and he knew how to fix it. He replaced the whole board. It took him 3 trips to my house to actually complete the job. The TV is running good with no problems.

When I got the unit home it had intermittent drop-outs, which was the original issue to be fixed. When I brought it back, Vasile was open to retesting but was insistent there was no problem. When I returned to pick the unit up, he indicated that the amp was "fixed", yet would not tell me what else was done to remedy it (which was nothing, since he could not duplicate the error in a short amount of time he allocated). The short version of my saga is that I made repeated trips and ultimately brought in a second identical amp with the same symptoms to get a single working unit of the two. Both amps were dubbed "fixed", but in the end still exhibit the same issues. There was some time between my trips and Vasile incurred cost for the parts, but despite a stated warranty, A-V Doctor would NOT stand good on a remedy. I paid him $225 and ended up with two amps that are not usable. The worst part about my incident is that during my last effort to remedy the situation I stopped in to ask for a partial refund. I was polite with this request (in the presence of my two year old). I WAS TOLD FLAT OUT THAT I WAS NO LONGER ALLOWED TO ENTER VASILE'S STORE AND THAT THE $225 WAS MY LOSS. If you have high-end gear, I would look for a more qualified and ethical repair shop.

My large 32" Sony television stopped working one day. I called a few companies from Angie's list who estimated a 2 week wait to even pick up the TV. Valentino, the owner of audio-video doctor said he could come by that evening after the store closed. What a blessing considering I work full time and the TV is way to big to move. He came, checked out the TV and gave me a quick assessment. He clearly is VERY knowledgeable about TVs, it took him no time to know what was wrong. He then gave me a very detailed description of what was going on and what my options were. He didn't pressure me into repairing the TV versus me replacing it. He not only repairs TVs in his shop, but does warranty repair work for best buy and was able to tell me so much about which TVs are more reliable, etc. I chose to have him repair the TV. He took the inner workings as it were out and brought them to the store. 3 days later it was ready, he came by after work again and fixed the TV quickly. It's perfect and I'm so glad I chose to repair it. He added a fan inside which will help the overheating which apparently caused the problem to begin with. He said it would by me about 4 more years. I will definitely use his again in the future if needed. He is professional, hard working and knowledgeable. I recommend audio-video doctor with no reservations.

I brought the receiver to the store on a Saturday, and Vasile said he would take a look at it on Monday or Tuesday to give an estimate. I called Vasile on Tuesday afternoon, and he said he would get to it that afternoon. He called back after a couple of hours and gave me an estimate for the repair and said he would have it done that same day. I picked the receiver up the following Saturday. The problem was fixed and everything seems to be working well. Vasile was very helpful and accommodating -- he even assisted in taking the receiver out to my car. He required a $35 payment up-front, which was then applied to the cost of the repair. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my experience with Vasile.

The video doctor was on time and very polite. The repair costs of($160.00) was reasonably priced. However, the service call to evaluate and pickup the TV I thought was a little steep ($100.00).

1. REQUIRES A $40 DOWN PAYMENT FOR AN ESTIMATE WHICH IS APPLIED TO THE REPAIR WORK REQUIRED. 2. DID A GOOD JOB EXPLAINING AND FIXING WHAT WAS WRONG. 3. COULD NOT FIX THE BUILT IN VCR SO THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATE WAS CREDITED BY $50.
