Our Horizon treadmill suddenly wouldn't turn on. Horizon has a list of treadmill service providers on their website; some are national chains. Of the four providers listed for North Carolina, one had apparently gone out of business and for another the technician never called back to schedule an appointment as promised. Fortunately Heritage has a location in Raleigh (apparently; I could not find a website for them, but that's what the technician told me). Technician Kevin Leonhardt (sp?) came out to diagnose and repair our treadmill. The way Heritage works is the technician comes out for a first visit to diagnose and repair if possible; if parts are needed, you have to order them yourself and then when they arrive, set up a second visit. Kevin first thought it might be the circuit breaker, so we ordered that and put it in ourselves (Kevin had explained this easy procedure), but that didn't solve the problem, so we then ordered the control board. Fortunately that solved the problem and our treadmill is working again! I was so happy to find someone who could repair the treadmill because the last time a treadmill broke we gave up finding someone who could fix it and just bought a new one--not a good solution. Kevin was polite and professional and seemed to have a lot of experience--I also appreciated that he had us try the circuit breaker first, as it was an inexpensive part whereas the control board was about $200, so if the circuit breaker had been the problem it would have been nice to have saved that money. The only downside for us was Heritage's procedure of having you place a second "work order" if you need to have the technician come back to install a part, because it takes about a day or two after that for the technician to get the processed work order and call to schedule an appointment--so from our perspective, it just introduces additional delay, but I'm sure there are reasons why they do it that way. Overall we were very pleased even though it would have been nice if the whole process had been faster (it took about three weeks altogether).
