The mattress appears to be failing. There are two distinct "canyons" where we sleep. My wife went to their store twice to attempt to obtain warrantee service to no avail. On the third trip, I accompanied her and was able to get their attention. They came out today to measure per the requirements set forth by the Simmons company. We were told that the trough needed to be 1 1/2 inches deep. It measured 1 1/4 inches. I told them that it's relatively new (under 2 years old) and thought it was unacceptable that they wouldn't make it right. Besides that, I told him that when you lay down it sinks to an unacceptable level. The store owner told me that I was welcomed to call Simmons direct and dispute the findings. I subsequently called Simmons who told me they had nothing to do with the warranty and I had to deal with the retailer. The manufacturer and retailer are pointing fingers at each other! Please warn Angie's List subscribers to stay away from this bunch!

Response from Blue Ridge Bedrooms Bedrooms & Bedrooms
That the it took the [member name removed] three trips into Blue Ridge Bedrooms without a satisfactory response is because they could not produce their original invoice as the warranty requires. We still want their home (At NO charge to them), and we did inspect the mattress. The depressions in the mattress measured 1” in three placed and 1.25” in one area. All mattresses will have some body impressions. The warranty states that for a replacement to be issued, the mattress must have a depression of at least 1.5” inches. It is likely that their mattress will compress to that level and when it does, their mattress WILL be replaced. They were told this. It is not feasible for Blue Ridge Bedrooms to replace a mattress that the manufacturer will not. It is not our warranty. We are facilitating the warranty process for Simmons Bedding Company. Blue Ridge Bedrooms has been in business since 1977. We didn’t last this long if we shrugged customer complaints. I respect the [member name removed] situation. They do have a 10 year warranty that is still in effect. Sincerely, Rita Kinney Blue Ridge Bedrooms Small Business Owner
