I had to wait two months for this pain management appointment - it was my last hope for any relief from auto accident injuries almost three years prior. The doctor never discussed or recommended the injections that the neurologist had referred me to this office to receive. I had to ask about them. He never recommended them himself and waited until I asked, "What am I supposed to do next"? It was only then that he suggested that I schedule an appointment for injections. I was nearly in tears because of disappointment by the time the office visit ended... a lousy doctor, zero confidence, my last hope looked grim. When I got to the desk for scheduling an appointment for injections, I couldn't force myself to go through with it with this doctor. Instead, I complained to the scheduler that I hadn't gotten to see the doctor that I was referred to see, that the manner of the office visit was very unprofessional, the doctor's language was unprofessional and inappropriate, and I had no confidence in being treated by him. She told me that she would consult with the doctor I was supposed to see originally to find out what happened, and call me the next day. She never called the next day, and their office had closed early the following day when I tried to call. I will be surprised if they ever get back to me; but I now lack any confidence in this entire medical office and will ask my referring doctor for a different referral. As a side note, I found it interesting that I never heard a phone ring in their office while I was there, and didn't see anyone on the phone. When I had called many, many times to try to find out initially why my appointment hadn't been scheduled, I would always only get a recording to leave a message... and then no one called back. It was only until my family physician's office (in the same building) called them that we were finally able to reach someone to get them to call me back to schedule an appointment.
So, it took a month to get an appointment, and then they couldn't see me right away, and I had to wait several weeks more for my appointment. Please. Don't waste your time considering using this office.

Experience with office staff was miserable from the beginning.Billing to medicare was extreme.Multiple absurd expensive unnecessary tests.Monthly visits required. No refills on any medsSurprise urine tests billed at 2000 dollars plus.Doctor confusion about where my scheduled epidural was to be done.He got very angry with me when I questioned him.Temper tantrums and yelling at staff. Extreme God complex.

He always explains procedures, is careful not to provide too much medication, and is a great Dr. He is always friendly and remembers details about me and my health problems. I never feel like I am just a name or number, I feel he really tries to manage my pain.

When I first met Dr. Hassis he was on the phone reaming out another provider for poor and hurtful care of a new patient of his. I was sitting in the exam room waiting for him and heard the whole thing. I knew right then he was the doctor for me because he clearly cared and wasn't afraid to stand up to others in order to advocate for his patients. He wasn't just going to push me full of pills, pat my head and send me on my way.
Dr. Haasis is very congenial, friendly and always smiling. I've never had a doctor remember so many details about me from one visit to the next...even so much as noticing I had my hair cut! You can't even get a husband to remember things like that! But beyond bedside manner he is very skilled at what he does. He let me know every step of what he was doing, prepared me for every touch, pinch or burn to expect during the nerve block process. He clearly cares a great deal...and so far each shot has been successful. I highly recommend him and his friendly staff.

Terrible practice, I have never been treatment so inhumanely in my life. The nerve conduction doctor cancelled my appt and told me i would need to reschedule because I was on my period. I asked why and he said you just need to reschedule. I told him i had traveled over an hour to get there but he still made me reschedule. If i had cancelled the appt instead of them i would have been charged one hundred dollars. Secondly, I was required to get a psych eval, which is mandatory by insurance in order for them to cover an electronic pain mgmt device surgically inserted into the body. This device held hope for me since I don't like taking pain meds or getting injections of steroids. This practice has a staff shrink named Dr Hinnant for these evals instead of a independant doctor. Anyway, this doctor Hinnant looked like he was beating off behind his desk during my eval. No kidding! I couldn't believe this was going on in front of me. I couldn't keep eye contact with him, which i am normally used to doing with people. Somehow I felt violated while his arm was moving up and down in front of himself behind his desk. I couldn't see fully what he was doing and didn't want to. But come on guy, please excuse yourself! I told Dr Mironer's assistant about Dr Hinnant and nothing was done, the guy still works there. Another incedent happened after I asked to be allowed back to use the restroom before my appt time and was directed to the bathroom. While using the restroom a different staff member started banging on the door yelling for me to open it. I couldnt understand but once I finished I opened the door only to be yelled at for peeing. I have never had to pee before seeing a pain doctor so I was taken aback by this yelling. There was no reason for yelling at me for peeing, since I had never been told I might need to pee in a cup for a drug test. This same staff person did not apologize to me when my drug test came back totally clean. I was also very scared by Dr Mironer during a pain mgmt injection/ surgery procedure. He was playing wild russian circus type music and singing loudly in russian while giving me an injection in my spinal cord. I remained still out of fear of being parallized, but it wasn't easy with that nerve racking music and feeling like I was in a Alice & Wonderland environment. The last and final insult in this office was much worse. In this last visit I was made to wait about 2 hours to be seen by Dr Mironer's nurse practitioner, who i always saw unless they could bill for another injection. The doctor and the P.A. knew i had tremendous pain from sitting, even for only 15 minutes. So, when i finally got into the exam room I was in tears. Through my tears I told her I could never wait that long again to be seen. She immediately dismissed me from the practice after accusing me of yelling at her, when i was only crying. Then to make matters worse she made fun of me for crying. Unbelievable! I have never been treated with such disrespect before in a doctors office or anything close to it. Dr Mironer never even asked me for my side of things, he just wrote me a Goodbye letter. Probably because i complained about all their weirdnesses. But, in the long run, they did me a favor by dismissing me because I found a new compassionate and professional pain mgmt doctor named Duncan Scott of Hendersonville Pain Mgmt. I just wish I had realized there were other pain management options in the WNC area. The only staff i delt with at "Carolina's Center for Advanced Management of Pain" who treated me with respect was the Dr Mironer's assistant in the surgery/ injection room.
