I had several questions after my purchase, but multiple attempts to reach the salesman I dealt with were unsuccessful. When I finally did reach him, he was not helpful. The custom pillows were supposed to be ready in 3 to six weeks, with the store responsible for calling we when they arrived. They did not call. After another series of calls from me, between 2 and 3 months after the purchase, the pillows finally arrived. Two were as ordered, but the other two were a completely different style and material. Store staff were not at all concerned about the mistake and did not offer to expedite getting the mistake corrected. After returning the 2 pillows and waiting another 6 weeks for the correct ones, one arrived with a seam completely ripped open. I finally got that one replaced after 2 more months and multiple calls from me, not the store. Fast forward 2 years. One of the Steelflex couch cushions has a separation of the seam and a flaking of the leather. Since I had purchased the 5 year warranty, I called the store and asked for customer service via an automated response system. No one answered customer service so I left a message with my phone number. This call was not returned. 2 more calls with no response. On my fourth call to the store a woman answered and I explained what I needed. She connected me to the same customer service line with no answer. I called back and she answered again. I said I needed to talk to a person about my couch repair and she conceded to try and answer my question. After all this, she said I needed to speak with the warranty company as the store doesn' t handle these complaints after the first year. Very frustrating experience, poor customer service, and poor quality of the custom pillows. I will not buy from Carolina Furniture Concepts again.
Description of Work: Purchased 2 Flexsteel leather couches, a massage chair, a dining room suite, 2 paintings, 2 lamps, and 4 custom made fabric cushions. Also purchased a 5 year full replacement insurance policy on the furniture.

Description of Work: On the surface it seemed like a good idea, a sale that included free delivery of all purchases. We bought a leather power reclining console and a sleeper sofa that featured a power self inflating mattress. We also purchased a five year insurance plan covering the furniture for $370.00. After delivery we immediately noticed that the left power recliner was defective. The power buttons would not consistently cause the recliner to go up or down. Some weeks passed and I called the store and asked for the customer service representative. I was told that he was unavailable but I could leave a voice message for a return call. I did this but the call was not returned and after a week or so I decided to drive back to the store. My experience there was difficult to believe, no matter who I spoke with I was simply lied to about whatever my question pertained regarding speaking with a service representative. It was as if the entire store was staffed by "carny's" and I was the rube. I was eventually told by a sales person named "Tiffany" that a repair technician would contact us within a week to schedule an inspection of the chair. Never happened. While I was at the store there were also two other customer trying to resolve complaints, one man was visibly angry and upset. It seemed that every sales person I spoke with had one desire and that was to get me to leave the store. The original sales person we dealt with "Gina Doe" told me she would call me within two days. Never happened. Did we get a great deal? I did not shop around to other stores with similar inventory so I can't say with any degree of certainty. The furniture manufacturer is the Flexsteel Company and they are highly rated. The next issue we had was the realization that the power recliner chairs did not have suitable back support and caused us to experience physical discomfort. By the time we realized this which took some time as when we sat in them at the store they seemed okay but after several months we knew we needed additional support. We now have to use memory foam pillows to give us needed back support. The employees in this company have only one interest, to sell and get you out so they can sell more, they will say anything to "close" the sale. I seriously warn about this company, do not buy from them. It is a company run by sociopaths.

DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM CAROLINA FURNITURE CONCEPTS! I purchased three items (chair, sleeper sofa, and steamer trunk) from this store. Each purchase was a disaster. The store delivered the chair with nuts and bolts that were lose. When I sat in the chair, it didn't feel right. When I picked it up nuts and bolts fell out from the bottom. I returned the chair asking for a credit to my Visa Card. I had to settle for store credit since this was their policy. Carolina Furniture Concepts next delivered a sleeper sofa which I ordered at the same time as the chair and trunk.hair and trunk. After the delivery men left I noticed scratches and goughes on my new hardwood floors beneath the sofa. I subsequently the sleeper sofa legs had nails protruding from them. It appeared when the sofa was uncrated the workman forgot to remove all of the nails. I filed a claim for the hardwood floor damage which became a separate problem. Carolina Furniture Concepts did notwant to pay the full amount of the claim. They wanted to pay $80.00 of the $240.00 bill I received, and I paid, from my carpenter. I had to personally go down to store and complain to get full reimbursement. This was a long and tedious process. The store continually tried to not pay the full amount of the hardwood repair From these three bad experiences, I learned Carolina Furniture Concepts is not a store to buy from. If you do, expect the real possibility broken/faulty furniture, a very slow response time (7 months to get my steamer trunk fixed),and a lot of frustration. No one needs go through the many unpleasant experiences I experienced with them. Please note I have rated several other firms/services on Angie's List. Nearly all of my reviews have been A ratings. Unfortunately, Carolina Furniture Concepts repeatedly demonstrated they clearly merit an overall "F' rating.
Description of Work: Store's furniture repairman finally repaired a steamer trunk correctly after a 7 month wait. The first 2 repairmen didn't know how to fix/replace the brackets that held the trunk open. Consequently, the trunk was useless until repaired. This is one of 3 problems I had with CAROLINA FURNITURE CONCEPTS. In addition to the trunk, I separately purchased a chair and a sleeper sofa. These were also a disaster. Please see specific details below

Part 1. I have been going to Carolina Furniture Concepts for two years now and I am hooked. I originally contacted them because I was in search of quality designer baby Furniture not something that can be bought at a major box store and had been looking for a long time. After looking over the brands they carried I decided that we wanted Baby Bassett. I spoke with The manager at the Waynesville Carolina Furniture Concepts, and he said that they normally don't get Baby Bassett but would do his best to contact Bassett and get it for me. He did, and was able to give it to me for the sale price, and offer me 12 month no interest financing. The best part is that the delivery guys came out and assembled the crib, were patient and kind, and took very good care of the furniture when they brought it in. I was 7 months pregnant and my husband was in Afghanistan so I really appreciated the wonderful service I received from them during the entire process. Part 2. Most recently my husband and I decided it was time to treat ourselves to new bedroom furniture, so we journeyed back to Carolina Furniture Concepts, this time in Arden and started working on a purchase wit the manager Sandeep and his team on the perfect bedroom collection. I must say I am a very picky furniture shopper, who wants the best quality, at the best price (who doesn't right?) But Sandeep and his team helped me scour through catalogs and ordered the nicest set for us. We had it delivered by the delivery team again flawlessly, and are so happy. We got a great financing deal of 48 months, and have a super low no interest payment! Yay! A few days later after we had our furniture set up, we decided to add a desk and a new mattress to it. We worked out a fantastic deal with Sandeep and now I am a customer for life! I want everyone to know that furniture shopping can be a wonderful experience, everyone can afford the great financing offers they have, and they will work with you on any budget. Also not all furniture is on display, they have tons of catalogs to go through if you don't immediately see what your looking for. Ordering something from a catalog doesn't take any longer to get than picking something off the showroom floor. Thanks Carolina Furniture Concepts for bringing back excellent customer service and good quality furniture!

When we arrived at the Carolina Furniture Concepts store in Waynesville on May 20, 2012 there was no one to help us. We waited and waited and finally had to ask for assistance at the cashiers area. A sales person was assigned. We explained what we wanted and she showed us mattresses. We selected what we wanted. She then offered that she could save us about $1000 if we bought Hickory brand adjustable box spring sets instead of the Tempurpedic Ergo. We said fine and asked if they had what we wanted in stock. She checked and found there was one wireless Hickory bedframe and one wired Hickory bedframe. The mattresses would need to be ordered. We specifically asked if the two different styles of Hickory bedframes would work together with the mattresses that we had chosen. The sales person went to check. She came back with the info that they would work fine and she provided a "bundled price" for the whole set. We needed the set as soon as possible and asked how long it would take to get it delivered. The sales person said 4-6 weeks. We said that wouldn't do as we needed it asap. Further checking with the warehouse manager and the store manager (Perry) resulted in an agreement that we would buy the set and if we didn't have it with in 2-3 weeks we could get our money back and go elsewhere. (We could have ordered it on line and had it faster than 3 weeks.) Two weeks come and go with no phone call from the store about our bed. We call and find that one of the mattresses had arrived, but the other was "severely damaged" and had to be sent back. A replacement was ordered and would arrive the following week. In the meantime, we bought a Lane recliner sofa and arranged for it to be delivered with the bed set. Delivery day finally arrives and the truck breaks down enroute to our house. Several hours later the delivery is made. The sofa is placed in the living room and the bed set is set up in the master bedroom. The driver immediately points out that the adjustable Hickory bedframes are two different colors. We are not concerned about this because they were two different models and would be covered anyway. However, when they set up the bed frames they were far more than different in just color. They were not the same height and the breaks where they incline and recline were not in the same positions on the two frames. This then meant that the bed would be lopsided with one side high and one side several inches lower AND the incline and recline would never match. This was unacceptable on such an expensive bed. More calls to manager Perry at the Waynesville store and we declined to accept the wired one that we now learned was being discontinued. Manager Perry advised that he would order another wireless bedframe and he would take care of us as valued customers. We later learned that what "taking care" of a valued customer means to Carolina Furniture Concepts and Perry is more delays and add more to the bill. He said in order to deliver the wireless bedframe we would have to cough up another $365. We offered to split that with him to compensate for all the delays, bad information, and aggravation we had been thru so far. He said no. You will note that we didn't negotiate price when we ordered the bed. We accepted what the salesperson offered us in the way of a package deal. We only negotiated delivery timing and that didn't turn out well at all. Additionally, the recliner sofa that was delivered was just plopped in the living room. The shipping material was not removed and the corner protectors were left stapled on the bottom. This then necessitated one of us lifting a very heavy piece of furniture while the other one crawled underneath to remove straps and staples so that the recliners and drawers would work as designed. We have quite a bit of furniture to buy in the near future. It will not be from Carolina Furniture Concepts. Consumers beware.
Description of Work: On May 20, 2012 we went shopping for a split king tempurpedic ergo bed set at the Carolina Furniture Concepts store in Waynesville, NC. They did not have the bed we wanted in stock and so it was ordered with a promised delivery date of 2-3 weeks max. Later we returned to the store and purchased a recliner sofa to be delivered with the bed.
