I needed a lot of work done when my water heater expired after 24 years (it was rated for 5), so I knew it might be costly. I paid $400 less from Stewart Plumbing than the estimate I got from one of their main competitors. Cole also started the job immediately and had it finished by the late afternoon. He was great, professional, and very skilled. I love my new water heater which is much more advanced than my old one. I'm very pleased with the service I got and I would definitely recommend Cole and Stewart plumbing,

After looking over the job I see that the bulk of the work we would be performing for you was to install a new water service branch, trench and re-bed the piping, and finally install a new high quality hydrant. We can't speak for other companies, but how they would be able to do that amount of work for that price leaves us scratching our heads as that wouldn't even nearly cover the cost of the equipment and material required to properly complete this job. Serviceman acted as if this was his first job and was not sure of himself or how to fix the problem. After look at the toilet he sit in his truck for about 30-40 minutes and came back with an estimate for a new toilet. He recommended that I replace the toilet because it would be cheaper. The price of a new toilet would be $1,400 (low end). He had several prices. My toilet is no more that 6 years old.

The work went very well. The technician even went through twice to make sure the pipes were clear. Work was also done to stop a running toilet. He showed me where deterioration was taking place on some of the parts inside the tank would mean problems down the road. The toilet is over 15 years old. The technician was polite, careful and explained everything thoroughly.

Hi Mrs. [Member Name Removed]! Thank you for taking a moment to review your recent service with Stewart Plumbing. After reading that you feel we charged you $1300 for one hour of work I looked over the job notes, photos, and history as this sounded way out-of-line. On Thursday the 25th you called in for service to reinstall a sink that had fallen out, and we had a technician on site within the next two hours for you. After checking out the sink issue and performing a plumbing system check we determined that the sink work needed was going to be more involved due to the nature of the work-- it being an under-mounted sink onto a lovely granite countertop with no bracing, and that it would be necessary to return with a second man the next morning to do the work correctly. On Friday, two plumbers arrived and disassembled your sink and drains, cleaned and prepared the granite for a new installation (which has to be done slowly and methodically as not to damage your countertop), adhered the sink to the countertop and strapped the sink in place securely for the 48 hour curing process. I do see where you called in and were hoping that we could cut that curing process short and get another technician out over the weekend to finish the job-- but we weren't able to do that as it would have risked the sink not curing properly and falling again, as it had done previously which led to our service. As we are warrantying this work for 2 years, we need to make sure that it'[Member Information Removed] done completely correct. We then returned on Monday morning to unstrap the sink, and build a new framing inside your cabinet to further support the under-mounted sink. Overall, three trips, 6 labor hours, 1.5 driving hours, and the time of the office staff who took your calls, booked your appointment, and followed up with you are accounted for in this fee. Stewart Plumbing certainly isn't the cheapest plumbing service provider in town, and in some cases maybe a cheap handyman is a better match for your needs-- but remember that we were on the job two hours after you called, up front priced the entire job before the work began, and finished with the entire project by the time the other companies were even getting around to returning your phone call with a blind quote to "reinstall a sink" that they have never even seen five days later. Thank you for the opportunity to provide you with our services Mrs. [Member Name Removed], and we truly hope that you see the value in the premium level of service we provided for your home and will consider using us again in the future!Thomas P.

I was disappointed. Stewart Plumbing gave the impression of a corporate money-making machine. All I needed was a mature, experienced plumber to snake my shower drain. 200-250 dollars seemed reasonable. Instead, a pleasant young man with an ipad showed up, took a few pictures then began a sales pitch about me becoming a Stewart Plumbing "member". He then told me he needed to figure up some "pricing". He came back with a price of $386.32 for essentially less than an hour's work. This was for work with a "standard level of difficulty". I had to turn him down because the price was outrageous. I fear to think how much I'd pay per hour for one of Stewart's experts to perform a task with a high level of difficulty. Forget about a free estimate with Stewart. You will pay a $73.83 "trip charge" whether they do any work or not. Be prepared to pay them at least 400 dollars per hour for any work done.
