After looking over the job I see that the bulk of the work we would be performing for you was to install a new water service branch, trench and re-bed the piping, and finally install a new high quality hydrant. We can't speak for other companies, but how they would be able to do that amount of work for that price leaves us scratching our heads as that wouldn't even nearly cover the cost of the equipment and material required to properly complete this job. We're sorry that we weren't able to solve your problem, but we appreciate the opportunity to earn your business!"

"Hi Mrs. [Member Name Removed]! Thank you for taking a moment to review your recent service with Stewart Plumbing. After reading that you feel we charged you $1300 for one hour of work I looked over the job notes, photos, and history as this sounded way out-of-line. On Thursday the 25th you called in for service to reinstall a sink that had fallen out, and we had a technician on site within the next two hours for you. After checking out the sink issue and performing a plumbing system check we determined that the sink work needed was going to be more involved due to the nature of the work-- it being an under-mounted sink onto a lovely granite countertop with no bracing, and that it would be necessary to return with a second man the next morning to do the work correctly. On Friday, two plumbers arrived and disassembled your sink and drains, cleaned and prepared the granite for a new installation (which has to be done slowly and methodically as not to damage your countertop), adhered the sink to the countertop and strapped the sink in place securely for the 48 hour curing process. I do see where you called in and were hoping that we could cut that curing process short and get another technician out over the weekend to finish the job-- but we weren't able to do that as it would have risked the sink not curing properly and falling again, as it had done previously which led to our service. As we are warrantying this work for 2 years, we need to make sure that it'[Member Information Removed] done completely correct. We then returned on Monday morning to unstrap the sink, and build a new framing inside your cabinet to further support the under-mounted sink. Overall, three trips, 6 labor hours, 1.5 driving hours, and the time of the office staff who took your calls, booked your appointment, and followed up with you are accounted for in this fee. Stewart Plumbing certainly isn't the cheapest plumbing service provider in town, and in some cases maybe a cheap handyman is a better match for your needs-- but remember that we were on the job two hours after you called, up front priced the entire job before the work began, and finished with the entire project by the time the other companies were even getting around to returning your phone call with a blind quote to "reinstall a sink" that they have never even seen five days later. Thank you for the opportunity to provide you with our services Mrs. [Member Name Removed], and we truly hope that you see the value in the premium level of service we provided for your home and will consider using us again in the future!"

We know that price is one of the most important factors when it comes to service work, which is why we do all of the pricing and negotiating on the front end before any work begins and stay up-front in order to insure that there are no surprises on your end. I'm sorry that we weren't able to meet your pricing needs on this trip out. After 26 years in business, we've learned what we need to charge in order to stay in business and offer the high level of service that we do. Unfortunately, when it comes to smaller handyman types of jobs, our prices end up on the higher side of the spectrum because of that. Building value is a big part of the service experience we try to offer, which starts from having your phone call answered by a live in-office person, scheduled by a dedicated dispatcher to make sure your issue's needs are matched with a properly skilled technician, meeting your scheduling needs and providing communication at the time of service so that we show up exactly when you expect us to, a service-manager to back up the technician with any possible technical assistance, a full plumbing inspection of your home on every call, a uniformed, background-checked, licensed, and drug-screened technician in your home, booties and drop cloths to protect your floors, a protected and insured payment processing system to secure your private information, insurance to protect your home in the event of an unplanned emergency, a brick and mortar office and warehouse that you're welcome to visit any time and meet face to face with our company's management, and accreditation with all formal and popular business entities like the BBB, Angie's List, and Google Guaranteed to give you the peace of mind that you're dealing with a real company. We hope that you'll consider us again in the future as we are eager to earn your business and provide you with a premium level of service!"
