This was one of the worst experiences I have had with a sub-contractor. I hired Zac Griggs to paint cabinets in my kitchen and my two bathrooms. My home is only 1,400 square feet, so we aren't talking very many cabinets. He told me he was giving me a "great" price and was charging me a daily rate. He was supposed to be at my house between 7-8am on a Monday morning. He didnt show up until 10am, took a lunch break at 12:30pm and then was gone from my house by 4:00pm. He told me he was going to work into the night Monday, because he was supposed to have started the job the week before and I was waiting on him to be able to move into my home. When I got to my house on Monday at about 5:00pm and realized he was gone. He had not even primed half of the things that needed to be done. I had gone by about 3 that afternoon and he was just sitting in his car smoking and playing on facebook (when there was still plenty of things that needed a coat of primer before they could be painted.) On Tuesday, he gets to my house again at 10am. At this point, I had completed priming everything and even put a first coat of paint on several things. I stayed there until about 11am, left to go to my office, came back at 1:30pm and he and all of his supplies and materials were gone. I text him and he tells me that he forgot to text me and let me know that he had to go because his son had to go to the hospital because he got hit in the face with a baseball and had lost two teeth. Things happen, I am aware of that but never told me and has yet to show back up at my house. I have now completed my cabinets myself and reached out to him about getting some of my money back (I know that I should not have paid him upfront....lesson learned). He has not blocked me on Facebook and will not respond to any messages that I have sent him questioning him. I have also already heard from another person who hired him and had him leave in the middle of the project and they had to call his mother (he's 41) in order for him to come back and complete the job.
Description of Work: I hired him to paint cabinets in my kitchen and two bathrooms.
