Merry Maids of St. Joseph

I must say, I kept giving them another chance. They missed such obvious things every time they came. Their primary tool was a duster, no glass cleaning of any sort, no mop board cleaning, they would dust around things on tables, dressers, but not under them. Lamps were never cleaned and appliances were so so.Don't know what they used on floors, but if your feet were wet from coming in from rain or getting out of shower, you stuck to the floor! Just the basics were missed. I finally quit asking them to clean behind toilets, because they just don't do it. They broke several things with no offer to replace. Pricing fluctuated. They were always training someone--it seems no one stays long. Always had new people who had to get used to what I wanted. I was told I should expect them to get 70% of the dirt or dust! WHAT ?? At those prices?? I wish I had looked at Angie's List sooner to see their F rating. My bad! Would not recommend them -- in fact when I would tell a friend that I had someone cleaning and they would ask who as they needed someone I did always say -- I can not honestly feel right about recommending them. I did have an individual come in two days after they were here the last time. I gave no instructions but had a list of over 20 things that had been "missed" two days earlier. This gal got all of the previously "missed" things. She would comment on several things "boy it has been a while since you got this" and I would think "yes, two days supposedly". She took much longer, but was quite a chunk less money wise and alas does not as of now have an opening on the days I have available. Ironically, I was dumped by the Merry Maids as they said they didn't ever think I would be happy with their 70% cleaning job! My husband and I got a good laugh over that, learned our lesson and are moving on with much higher expectations.

I was also a little surprised with the little that was cleaned in my kitchen after it was finished. With two people cleaning for a little over an hour all that was cleaned was all flat surfaces, cabinet shelves, the exposed blinds (not the blinds that were still pulled at the bottom as they were left dusty), the sink and the floor.

We had used them for cleaning every 2 weeks. The price kept increasing. When we signed up we were told that we would have the same cleaning team and that they would get to know our requirements. We have 2 dogs and they need to get comfortable with people coming into the house. Every week there were different people. Some didn't know what they were doing. Specifically, they would miss cleaning places and used so much cleaning product and didn't wash it off that your feet stuck to the shower floor when you walked in. Some of the workers were really rude to my husband and they lied to the owner about things. There are lots of other resources out there for cleaning services and you can find them to be more reliable and less expensive as well as professional. I would never use them again.
