I won’t use sewer pros again. Tech that came to my house did not wear a mask and he seemed put off when I asked to please enter my home through my basement door (not only because of COVID-19, but because we have 3 dogs). My sewer was backed up and when I called to make the appointment, the person I spoke with viewed my previous inspection and told me the line probably needed to be cabled, and that it was good to cable the line once a year. I was told cabling was $189. The tech that came to my home did not cable my line, he said a wipe was causing the blockage and that he pushed it into the main line. I asked if he was going to cable the line because I was told that was good maintenance, and he said my line was too long. I found this odd, since the person I made the appointment with didn’t seem too think the line was too long. The tech also asked me, (a female) if anyone else was home, which made me very uncomfortable. When I asked why he needed to know that information, he paused as if trying to come up with an excuse, and said because you need to tell them not to use the water. If that’s the case, then just say don’t use the water, you don’t need to know or ask if anyone else is home. This guy was maybe at my house for 25 minutes tops, probably more like 15-20 and when it came time to pay he said it would be $189. I asked why it was still $189 even though he did not cable the line, and he just shrugged his shoulders. I asked if all home visits are $189 and he couldn’t answer. I asked for an explanation of the charges and he just stared at me blankly. I was provided no receipt and no explanation of the charges or work completed. I called after the man left and asked for a receipt or explanation of the charges and was provided none. The receptionist couldn’t answer my questions and said someone would call, but no one ever did.

The SewerPros guys were thorough and explained everything clearly in person and in their videos. We were able to use the videos to show our sewer repair professional exactly what issues our new home's lateral and riser were having - and to get a credit for sewer lateral repair from the sellers! We've used The SewerPros for two home purchases now, and were totally satisfied with their service. We'd definitely use them again!

My husband and I recently sold our home and the buyers of our home had an inspection of the sewer by Sewers Pros. Based on Sewer Pros inspection, we received a report / request from the buyers for us to reinspect/cable the sewer line due to ''heavy buildup/blockage'' at the base of the sewer stack. We initially thought of just contacting Sewer Pros to do the work they recommended (which I really believe is what they hoped we would do) but decided it would make more sense to go with a plumbing company that was approved by the county for the Sewer Lateral program in case any issues were found outside of the home. I met the plumber from the other company at our former home and told him of the report we received from Sewer Pros. He then took the cap off the stack and asked me what I heard. I told him it sounded like water and he said it was the water main and if it was blocked we would not be hearing water. Based on this, he decided not to cable but instead to try running the camera through which he did without any issues stating on our paid receipt "Had no problem running camera through. Sewer in good condition". Also in the inspection video he stated the following: "small amount of buildup right off the bat, did not encounter any other issue what so ever". I contacted Sewer Pros to let them know how extremely unhappy my husband and we were. They stated they did nothing wrong, they stand by their recommendation and that they were unable to get their camera through and there is still a heavy amount of buildup in the line & their recommendation was and still is that it should be cabled out. This is totally riduculous. The facts speak for themselves. Sewer Pros is stating the buildup was so bad they could not get their camera through. Another plumbing company can pass a camera through with absolutely no issues! Sewer Pros sees 'heavy buildup" that is so bad it prevents them from getting their camera thru and another plumbing company can easily get their camera through with no issues & without the line being cabled out. I normally do not post bad reviews however this was so bad and upsetting that I had to warn other people. I hope other people read this review and do not use Sewer Pros.

I had the technician come out and snake the main sewer line from my home. He did the job in about 15 minutes. I now know, from MSD, that to ensure that the job was done properly the technician should have you run water and flush the toilets in your home before they leave to ensure that the job was done properly because there can be more than one clog in the main line. The Sewer Pro Tech did not tell me to do this. He also ran only 30 ft of cable according to the receipt and the full length of my line, from my home to the main sewer is 70ft, which I also learned from MSD. I order to ensure that the tech is doing the work properly, you should be in the home and hear the cable hitting your main pipe in the basement of your home, which I also learned from MSD. Again, this is my first home and I did not know this. About a week later the toilet on my second floor would not flush properly. I called again. They came out for an additional fee of $60. The tech snaked the toilet. It worked for about a week and then did not work properly again.

Sewer Pros inspected and cleaned all sewer lines on a property purchased about 6 months ago. They described what they were doing thru out the process which was greatly appreciated. They also provided video of the inspection immediately after (within a few days). The appointment process was courteous and efficient. The follow up was complete. And, when some a follow up was necessary because some additional debris had dislodged from the pipes they were prompt to take care of it. Overall, it was nice to have a company with the name 'pro' in it be exactly that--professional.

The technician came out to snake the tub drain which was draining slowly. He used a motor powered cable to snake it. It was very rough and I could feel the vibrations from it all the way outside on the deck. When I went downstairs, there was water pouring from the ceiling and down the walls of my finished basement bathroom below. I told the technician and he called his boss and left. I did not hear from the Sewer Pros so the next day I called them and they said they were not responsible for any damage done to the pipe, much less any resulting water damage. I called another plumbing company to come out and take a look. The technician from the second plumbing company cut the drywall in the ceiling below the tub and we could see the hole that was put into the drain pipe from the cable. Once the new technician replaced the broken pipe, he also snaked the drain because it was still draining slow. He did it manually with a cable, not a machine, and said this is the preferred way as it's less likely to cause damage to the pipes. I also had a contractor come out and take out all the drywall in the bathroom as the water ran across the ceiling and down the walls. I sent the photos that are attached to the company, along with the bill for the second plumber and the contractor and they told me that they are not responsible for repairs and wouldn't pay them. I spoke with Kathy on the phone and again was told they were not going to pay for the damage caused by their technician. I asked for the owner's name and number and she refused to give it to me. This tub and the pipe in question were installed when the bathroom was updated several years ago and were not old or corroded or damaged in any way as is clearly shown in the photos. There was never a pipe leak before they came. It's been almost a month and my bathroom is still down to the studs so I will have to go through the process of getting new drywall installed and painted with all the resulting dust and inconvenience and cost. This company made a mistake, it happens, but their refusal to take responsibility for it is ridiculous. Buyer beware!

We hired The Sewer Pros for a routine camera sewer inspection to ensure the line was clear as part of the process of selling our home. Due to their limited availability, my husband had to meet the technician while he was on a work conference call on his cell. He did speak with the technician but was unable to monitor him the entire time he was in our home. After the technician left, we realized that he had splattered sewage all over our basement in a 5-7 foot radius from the stack in our basement where he had inserted his equipment. There was sewage all over my floor cleaning equipment (Shark floor mop), clothing steamer, laundry washer and dryer, previously clean clothing that was neatly folded on top of the dryer, laundry baskets, dehumidifier etc. Many of these items were unable to be properly sanitized/bleached and had to be thrown away. I called the company and they claimed they had no one available to come out to clean up the mess. They contacted me 3 days later with an offer to send out a technician. I informed them that of course, I had cleaned up the sewage and damage myself as I couldn't just leave that sitting all over my belongings for several days. The company reimbursed us for the $239 they had charged for the cabling, but I found this to be woefully inadequate compensation for the replacement of contaminated items and for our trouble to have to spend several hours cleaning up sewage, which is a human health hazard. The company didn't seem to care about our concerns or the cost of the damage they caused for what should have been a routine quick inspection that did not leave any mess behind. I am appalled that this company calls their technicians professionals and would strongly warn anyone against allowing these people the opportunity to damage their home. I took many photos to document the mess they made, I've included one of the dehumidifier.

Response from The Sewer Pros
We spoke with this client on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend when she called about the mess after our cabling appointment - this was an appointment to cable and re-inspect the main sewer line. We apologized and let her know our office was closed and no one was available until Tuesday. We asked her to email pictures of the mess and received them showing some splatter on the concrete floor and furnace. On Tuesday we spoke again and offered to come clean up but she stated this had already been done. After apologizing again for her experience we let her know the technician had been reprimanded and explained that this is not how we work - we take precautions on every job to keep the property clean and if messes happen we clean them up. We refunded her money for the appointment and offered to clean up any items she stated were damaged but she declined this offer. We also spoke with her husband and was able to apologize to him for this experience as well. He appreciated our refunding their money for the appointment as well as our apology.

It went very well they were able to come out asap and Julian was the guy on the job and he was very professional and knew what he was doing. He figured out what where the leak was coming from and suggested what route to take to get it fixed. He was a very good guy and I will recommend family and friends from this experience I had with Julian.

Pleased with the experience. Kyle was prompt and clean-cut. He made a valiant effort to resolve the problem, and we concurred on what needed to happen next to resolve the blockage. Sewer Pros will be my "go-to" for sewer problems that I cannot correct myself or if I need sewer camera work.

Our home inspector used their inspection and report for our home inspection report. Based on Sewer Pro's report we negotiated with the seller on the cost of the work to be done. However, Sewer Pro's report was not accurate so once the plumber got in to it, it turned out to need another 10 feet of new pipe. By then, it was too late to re-negotiate with the seller to cover the cost. One would think that if all they do is put a camera in and find the cracks and leaks in the sewer lines, and given that this is their specialty, they should get it right. But that is not the case here and it cost us an extra $1000!

We scheduled our sewer inspection directly with sewer pros for the same day as our other home inspections. At the time of scheduling, we let Sewer Pros know we were concerned about the back stairwell drain. They indicated it was not part of their normal inspection, and they would bring a micro camera to inspect the drain if possible at an additional cost. Mr. Bill Wason with Sewer Pros showed up early on the scheduled day. He performed the inspection and was even able to go past the house's main stack to inspect the back stairwell drain at no additional cost. I particularly liked Mr. Wason camera survey because he provided a lot of narration - detailing when the camera moved between the different sewer line materials (cast iron, clay, and PVC), and discussed the visible conditions of the pipes.

They came out the day I called within just a couple of hours. Did a very thorough job and fixed the problem. Since then St. Louis had widespread flooding after a four-day nonstop barrage of rain, and several people I know had basements filled with water. I'm happy to report my basement stayed dry after The Sewer Pros did their job.

I contacted a home inspector through Angie's List on Friday afternoon and he set up an appointment for Bill from The Sewer Pros to meet us at the home the following Monday. Bill arrived on time, got straight to work (explaining everything he found along the way) and provided us with a DVD of the sewer scope prior to leaving the home. The inspection began at noon and by 3:30pm I received an email of the report and links to the video which I had been given a DVD of. Given the evidence I'm now able to provide during negotiations over the purchase of a century-old home, having an inspection done by The Sewer Pros was well worth it!

Before the purchase of our home The Sewer Pros did an inspection around June 2013. The video provided shows tree roots in the pipe, therefore a sewer lateral was needed. In March of 2014 we contacted the Sewer Pros to perform the sewer lateral. The arrived on time and got the job done. Payment was required at time of service for both inspection and sewer lateral. Both men who performed the service were professional and explained what was going on.

The provider inspected my sewer system and found severe damage both inside and outside my house. He was completely correct. He marked the location of the sewer pipe and we hired a contractor to make the repair. The inside work went well because the sewer pipe was marked accurately. The outside work went poorly because the location of the sewer pipe was marked completely incorrectly. At the exit to our house the pipe was marked about a foot to the west of the actual location. As a result, the contractor dug an 8 foot deep ditch off location and had to enlarge the ditch in order to uncover the pipe. This caused unnecessary damage to our yard. The inspector marked the location of the pipe as a straight line from our house to the mail sewer connection. In actuality, the pipe made an approximate 45 degree angle in one direction and then in about 20 feet it made a correction angle back to the main sewer connection. As a result, the sewer pipe went, unexpectedly, under our walkway stairs to the sidewalk. This (and the misdirection described above) caused the contractor to underestimate and underbid the scope of the project. It took an additional 1-2 days work (3 workers) to complete the job. Finally, the contractor was able to remove our stairs in block and put them back successfully. This cost him additional time and effort and, were it not for his diligence, it would have cost us about $1,500 extra to replace the steps. In summary, this was poor workmanship by The Sewerpros.

TSP was prompt in their arrival. Their office personnel were very professional and helpful. The first technician found the crack in the line between the house and the clean out. We contacted a plumber that could do the repairs (SilverStone Construction LLC - Larry Smith is Excellent!!!). Larry coordinated with TSP on when to come out and clean the line and scope after he had done his repairs. A different TSP technician had come out and found a second crack in the line, but this time between the clean out and the main. The technician called back to the office to review the video to find out how they missed the crack the first time. The camera was going through water through at the time, and did not capture the crack. SilverStone had left by then, so TSP had to call them back to finish the job. Once they were done, TSP re-scoped at no additional cost, and the work was completed. We don't know how much extra we had to pay SilverStone to come back out and repair the second crack, but the total bill would probably have been less if they had done both repairs at the same time.
Description of Work: Buyers of our home used an inspector that used The Sewer Pros. TSP technician came out and scoped from the main (in the alley) back to the clean-out, and then from the clean-out back to the house. They reported to the buyer that there was a crack in the sewer line near the house, and left DVD. Buyers asked us to have crack repaired, and have TSP re-scope the line and make a DVD when work completed. An additional crack was found and the plumber had to return to fix problem.
