We heard from a couple of caregivers how much they loved what they did. They didn't really need to tell us. It showed in their actions. Like when I would take a break and leave the bedroom next thing I heard is Audrey talking to my dad the whole time I was out of the room just to keep him company. He's in a coma at this point! No one asked her to do that but she knew the last thing to go is your hearing.
I could write a book about this experience but I hope this is enough to give you a sense of what happened and happened and happened. Oh and know this. We just mentioned at the doctors office that I had been on Angie's list and Martha's hands looked appropriate. Nurse strongly encouraged that I go with them. Later I meet one of dad's neighbors (a former nurse) in the hall and told her I was considering Martha's Hands. Her son had worked for them and she too strongly encouraged hiring them.
"We feel sad when a client no longer uses our services. Matching client/family requests, client needs and client expectations with appropriate caregivers is a top priority. That is why Martha's Hands has developed care systems over the past 17 years to improve our care start-up and care matching. We begin the process by conducting Initial Nursing Assessments with our Nurse Care Managers (free of charge to the client). During these Assessments, our Nurse Care Manager is gathering information in order to develop a customized service plan that will enable us to identify an appropriate caregiver. When the caregiver arrives at the client's home for the first time, our Nurse Care Manager meets them there at the beginning of their assignment. During this orientation, our Nurse Care Manager introduces the client to the caregiver (reducing any anxiety) and instructs the caregiver to the client's written service plan so they know exactly what the expectations are for the client's care. They also review any special equipment needed to care for the client. Our Nurse Care Manager is available 24/7 for any questions or clarifications while caring for our clients. We hope all client/caregiver matchings will be perfect the first time. With misunderstandings of expectations or personality issues, this is not always the case. That is why our Staffign Team is available 24/7 to replace an existing caregiver immediately or replace a caregiver for future assignments to meet the client/family requests. We are confident that one of our over 300 caregivers will be able to meet our client's needs. While Martha's Hands has provided over 3,000,000 hours of care to thousands of clients, we are not perfect. Managing client/family expectations can be challenging. We always welcome feedback from clients/family and work tirelessly to meet their expectations. If a client/family has any challenges, we welcome them to contact our Leadership Team to resolve their issue."
