I picked him on my own and I just wasn't aware of the type of carpet cleaner he was going to use. That's why my carpet didn't come clean.

They have been in here quite a bit. I had my basement flooded. They have been cleaning things out. They cleaned the carpet up and it all came out real good. It was stained pretty bad. I think that they are kinda high. The only problem that I had was when they went to clean the carpet, they put too much liquid in the carpet and we had to tear apart of the carpet out to dry it up. He was trying to get that stain out and that is what happened.

Since day one, it has been a disaster. Shabby and shoddy work. The roof blew off a section of house on May 7, and we did an emergency tarp job which stopped rain from coming into the house. This is a modified bitman roof, and requires good weather to replace. When State Farm Claims sent Service Masters to look at, they immediately put in dehumidifies and fans to dry out the rooms needing repair. In the meantime, another storm came thru and tore the tarp off, so again more water in the house, more dehumidiers and fans. This happened 3 times, and eventually no dehumidiers were bought in to dry out. The carpet and flooring were ruined, and Service Masters took them out. In the first storm, the A/C freon line was torn out as the roof ripped, so we also had no A/C. We were then moved to a local hotel. We were told on numerous occasions that roof repairs would be started several times, but never happened. We finally hung plastic sheeting ourselves thru the areas inside to stop water getting on everything when it rained, and made like a funnel so the rain would run into a spot in the plastic then drain out thru a hole into a huge shop vac container instead of going everywhere. Then it would storm for several days in a row. The roof would have to dry out again and the lip service would start again. Finally, the roof was replaced on July 23 and 24. The A/C was replaced and we were allowed to move back into house August 1. 79 days has now past, and we moved back into a house with no ceilings and no flooring and limited cooking. Then started the insulation. No coverings on anything, and insulation was everywhere. That took a week to put in the insulation. They ran electrical for lights in the meantime, and replaced venting for the cooktop and oven. I could cook, but had to clean insulation up all over the place several times before could use the kitchen. Next came the drywall. My husband and I covered the kitchen counters and cooktop in Plastic for the dust instead of letting it gather like the insulation dust and pieces did. Of course, that was removed when the end if the first day was done and drywall dust was everywhere. Even in the coffee pot. They threw the plastic away. Very seldom did they clean up any mess made, dropped mudding everywhere, dust everywhere. It is now September 25. Workers came finished the redo of the dry walling errors, redid the mudding errors, and replaced the fascia of the house, not using the same type of fascia that was there and doing it very wrinkled and only doing half of the side of the house so the bad job new us totally different than the old. Nothing else has been done. And it's all about money, and which job they can make the most on. They have pulled workers off of our house, to send them to better paying jobs. This is a job that should have been done in 2 weeks. I do not recommend them because they are all about money. Houses are built in less time than it has taken them to replace a roof and repair a small section of an 1800 sq ft house. What started out as a $15000.00 repair is now up to almost $40000.00 because of the extra damage done waiting for roof to be replaced. And having to redo the shabby work already done.
Description of Work
We had to have a roof, fascia, guttering, shutters replaced and drywall, insulation, flooring replaced in a combined computer room, kitchen dining room. The roof blew off house and there was a 20x30 ft patch inside house to be fixed doe to water damage.

It went very well, they were very attentive. They were able clean up all the flooding in our home that had occurred downstairs. They also were able to stop any sort of molding from appearing when the floor was being dried.

On the day of the tornado, our expectation was that Servicemaster would handle all emergency repairs. They did not provide someone to remove the fallen tree from our punctured roof. By the time they showed up, all tree removal people were otherwise engaged. It then began to rain and the water penetrated the house, causing extensive damage. Servicemaster charged the insurance company an exorbitant amount of money to perform the work necessary to secure the house. Later, Servicemaster was retained to take all the furnishings to its storage facility, clean everything, and then return it in good condition. Our electronics were not cleaned and many parts were missing. The furniture was returned damaged. An old picture of my great grandparents - irreplaceable - was stored incorrectly and suffered irreparable water damage. The books were all supposed to be cleaned of glass. They were returned and still had glass in them. Several boxes of books were lost. Servicemaster was hired to clean the debris around the house. They left extensive glass around the house. house When these problems were called to the attention of Servicemaster, instead of saying they were sorry, and attempting to fix the situations, they complained and threatened a law suit. Ultimately, they were paid. They refused to provide a lien waiver without charging for it. Which is of course, unheard of.
Description of Work
After our house was badly damaged by a tornado, Servicemaster was employed to do water mitigation, to clean up the site, and to store and return our furnishings.

My insurance company contacted them. They worked directly with my insurance company. They were prompt. They did cause some damage. They have to move your stuff out, box up your stuff, tear out ceilings/drywall/insulation/carpet, etc. They were under a lot of time pressure. They did damage a few items in my house -- which I discovered after the statute of limitations had run out. They did a good job, and seemed to follow all proper procedures in mitigating the water damage. They checked the water content and proceeded accordingly.

We had a pipe burst in the basement on a Wednesday. A plumber was called immediately and the pipe was repaired that day. The next day we called Service Master. Their first response said they would come to the house the following Wednesday and the project would take 3 days. Then they called us and said they would come on Thursday and the project would only take two days. The first visit the drywaller/painter painted over wet mud. It was the end of the day and he said he had to leave. When asked by Service Master if we were please with the outcome, we said no. Service Master said they would be out the next Friday to correct the work. Again, I had to schedule a vacation day. When worker arrived he attempted to correct the flaws from the first drywaller/painter. Service Master calls again to ask for our approval. We took pictures of flaws and sent them to rep from Service master. Rep agreed that was not their best work. Service Master rep returned the next Friday (another vacation day) with another worker and saw the problems first hand. Finally completing the job to my satisfaction, they left. However, I failed to see marks on the wall when furniture was moved. Not wanting to call Service Master a FOURTH time, I decided to paint myself. They also sat in a chair where white paint remains as well as paint on the blinds and door handle. I asked for a reduction of the $1,000.00 price. Rep said he could only take off $100.00. Even though Service Master was willing to repair their own work over and over, this process is inefficient and costly (vacation days.) I would not recommend Service Master of St. Charles, MO.

We had a major water leak in an upstair master bath where water went into our closet, bedroom, through the floor to our kitchen, diniring room, sunroom, family room and ultimately the basement. They were our first responders sent by the insurance company to remediate the water. They were extraordinarily professional, always called ahead before someone came to check on moisture levels and equipment and always came in company indentified trucks and uniforms. They kept us informed of the situation and moisture levels. They cleaned up thoroughly after any work was done (ceilings/walls cut to allow air to pass through and kitchen floors removed). The reason I don't know the cost is that the insurance company was billed directly. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to remedy water damaged areas!

Then they took up the carpet and carried out the damaged sofa bed. and ran fans and dehumidifiers to dry it out. Finally they covered the very large hole in the ceiling with plastic to provide temporary protection from any more rain. And they cleaned up before they left each day. The damage was horrendous, and I was astonished at how quickly and efficiently they cleaned it all up. They were totally professional and courteous. They even opened the room window to prevent the insulation glass fibers from spreading though the vents to the rest of the house. I would recommend them without reservation.

I would not recommend them. They break your stuff, they damage your stuff, and they don’t want to pay for it. They overcharge you. They are just a rip off. Their whole bill was $30,000 and they are still trying to get a $1000. They owe me a credit and they didn’t want to give. It is a stupid story and I just don’t want to go there. They ripped me off totally. I was not happy with them. They are definitely about themselves and not about their customers. They tell you they would be here at a certain time and they show up two hours or later. They never even call; I have to call them. I will never use them. What they do is they come in and clean up fire damage and water damage that is what the kind of company they are. They cleaned and then tore down part of our ceiling that just took them forever. We had to live here in that mess. They don’t clean up after themselves. They just left it all. They cleared it up all at the very end. The paint job they did was horrible. We could have done a much better job than that, like we did two years prior to that, when we had a high windstorm here. I am still dealing with it. It is aggravating. They damaged my refrigerator and I am going to make them pay for it. Our insurance company was no better. They negotiated the price and told us after they settled it with them. So we had to fight with them on the balance. They never told us what the quote was, we kept asking and asking but they never gave it to us. So now, we are stuck with the balance and the credit.

We called for them right away and they came later that day. They were thus able to dry it out before any permanent damage was done. They checked on how the drying was going every day or two. The only complaint is that they didn't keep me up to date on how much longer it would take and I couldn't reach them to ask. When you call, you get an operator, and they have to contact the repairman, but they aren't always on duty when you call.

The crew was efficient and professional, in and out in relatively short order. They cut air holes in the ceiling and wall and set up large fans and dehumidifiers to dry out the moisture. If you're bothered by noise, you won't want to hang around the fans, but they certainly did the job. After 3 days, we were dried out.
Description of Work
Due to a broken downspout and rain from Hurrican Gustav, I had water pouring down my walls, damaging my ceiling, walls, and floor. Service master dried out my ceiling, floors and walls, preventing mold growth and a much bigger restoration job.

I have Service Master come out about 2 times a year. I always ask for the same person because I am comfortable with him. He is very friendly, moves all of my furniture takes care to de-stain and clean and then puts all the furniture back. Often times, he will take care to clean things he sees that I miss and is honest enough to tell me if a room really doesn't need cleaning at that time.
Description of Work
I had the carpets cleaned in 6 rooms, stairs and hallway through out my house.
