When the install date arrived, the weather was overcast and threatening to rain. The installer had to set up his saw on the deck outside the kitchen. I offered him a canopy, but he refused. He put the saw on the deck floor. For the most part, the install went well until he came to the floor vent that we had been told that he would fix so it would vent to the front. Two cabinets crossed over it and he said he didn't know what to do about that, so I let him cover the vent and render it no longer functional. He got the upper cabinets installed without too much trouble, but couldn't figure out how the crown molding was supposed to attach. I called the sales guy at Lowe's and he texted me a copy of the page from the manufacturer's manual on how to install it. When ee was finished, there were gaps in some of the crown molding corners, especially inner corners. Since I was planning to install lighting up there and wasn't too happy to have the light shining down through the cracks, we asked the company to do something about that. One of the owners came out to the house with the installer and he (the owner) said he thought the job was fine, acceptable, and anyway, there wasn't enough crown molding left to re-do the work. So he had the installer work on it for a while, and when the left, there was no light to be seen at the gaps. Recently, I finally got around to installing the lights above the cabinets. I couldn't believe their solution. I assumed that they had used some kind of filler on them, since I had seen the installer unroll a package of colored filler sticks. No. Black electrical tape! All this would almost be forgivable except that while they were here discussing the work, the installer actually looked at me and said "Most places I work, they have a garage where I can set up".
