 + -1 moreOverall went great. Technician came out and checked out every sprinkler zone and head. Spent a great deal of time checking and adjusting each sprinkler. Found a leak in a line and repaired for a reasonable extra charge. System now has very little overspray onto the driveway or street, saving water. Great job.

 + -1 moreOverall it went fine. I didn't get what I expected, though I could have. It'll be done in early spring, which is fine with me. In the meantime, our system is winterized, which is good. So, I'm happy.
Description of Work: I had purchased a $49 sprinkler system "tune up" through Angie's list as we have places in the yard that aren't being watered from out in-ground system. I also needed some repair work as there was a leak where the water leaves the house to the sprinkler system. The man from Lawn and Sprinkler Guys came out as scheduled- he did not have the part needed to make the repair with him, and I agreed it was fine to do this in early spring, as long as we could still use the Angie's List $49 system check at that time. He assured me I could use it then. He winterized the system to avoid frozen pipes, which cost $70. I got a call from the Lawn and Sprinkler Guys office later that day. They wanted to make sure I was fine with postponing the repair until early spring- I was told they could send someone out to take care of it now. I assured them it's fine to wait as long as I can use my $49 coupon then (it's supposed to expire around Jan or Feb.) Again, I was told they would honor it then.

 + 0 moreRoutine aeration that i have done every fall was done and then a second visit to see if all the sprinkler heads were working well.
Description of Work: They came out for 2 different visits. The first was lawn aeration and the second to fix a sprinkler. They were professional, on time, Unfortunately they were unable to fix one of the sprinklers because of a very large tree root but the other work was done well and I am very satisfied with it.

I called the company and they were very courteous and told me that someone would be out there shortly. When he came I showed him the area and he finished the job. I was very pleased with the entire experience.

 + -1 moreThe worker showed up on time, spent a good amount of time adjusting and checking all the sprinkler heads, and then went over system operation with me. He also repaired the broken sprinkler head. I have subsequently used them to winterize my system and to install a rain sensor so the system does not run if we have had rain recently (not that this has happened much this last year).
Description of Work: I had my sprinkler system inspected and adjusted to work as well as possible. I also had a broken sprinkler head repaired.

 + -1 moreThe technician was polite and seemed knowledgeable but had a difficult time determining my problem. Once the problem was detected he replaced the rotors in a timely manner.
Description of Work: The advertisement was for a complete lawn sprinkler tune up including adjusting heads, cleaning heads where necessary, and setting timer for $49. The individual showed up on time. I pointed out a few heads I was having problems with as they wouldn't pop up. The technician first took apart a valve and ended up replacing a valve. When the heads still didn't come up, he blamed my pump and I helped him disconnect and drain the pump - nothing unusual was found. The heads still wouldn't come up so he replaced one and it worked so he ended up replacing 5 heads or rotors. During his visiit he took several calls from his office and others. After 2 and a half hours he declared he was done, all the heads sprayed but he did not make any adjustments or clean any of the other heads which was part of the original deal. I ended up paying for a service call $75 plus $15 for additional labor in addition to $50 for a vave and $175 for the 5 rotor totalling $315, all in addition to the advertised price of $49 which I paid in advance. I understand paying for the new heads and rotor but there was nothing in the advertisement about time limit or a service call charge and the heads were not cleaned or the timer set for the recommended watering times.

They took the time to discuss why we needed the new sprinkler heads, and explained the mechanics about troubleshooting sprinkler heads in the future. Very happy with their service - definitely recommended.

 + -1 moreSome of my sprinkler heads had sunk down over time due to settling of my new yard, and were spraying into the immediately surrounding grass. I also had some constantly dry areas in my yard that I wanted to see about getting better irrigation. I saw the Angie's List deal, and bought it for the tune-up (I think it was $49). I got the appointment scheduled, and the guys came out and inspected my system. They came up with some good solutions that saved me some money (replacing nozzles with longer-throw nozzles vs. getting additional heads put in), and they did excellent work at a great price. They showed up on time, and did the work quickly. Can't say anything bad at all about them, which is refreshing given how some contractors can be. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again!
Description of Work: L&S guys raised most of my sprinkler heads, and replaced a few of the nozzles to get better range/maximize coverage.

 + -1 moreThe provider arrived on time, but didn't seem very familiar with the type of system we have. He took the time to check every zone, but I turned each one on and off for him. He repaired a small mist head and adjusted some of the other heads. When I watched the sprinklers the next day some of them didn't seem to be set where they should be. I think he tried to do a good job and he was very nice, but I will stick with the company that did the original installation from here on out.

Description of Work: When we decided we wanted to upgrade our sprinkler system, we consulted Angie's List to find a good contractor to do the work. One of the highest rated is The Lawn and Sprinkler Guys, so we called them for an appointment. They were helpful and set the appointment for a few days in the future. The day before the appointment, their office called and said that the person scheduled to come out (Scott) couldn't come at the appointed time, and they asked us to reschedule, which we did. On the reschedule day (today), I called first thing to ensure that Scott would be here at the appointed time of 12 noon. It's the day before Thanksgiving, and I am trying to schedule lots of activities and put in a day's work too. I was assured by the office that the appointment was still good for noon today. But no one showed up, and no one called to tell me that something changed. At 12:30, I called again and explained that no one had showed up. They asked me to wait, then came back on the phone and said, "He says he's on the way." I asked what that meant, as I only had the lunch hour scheduled for the appointment and it was already after 12:30. They called him again and then came back on the phone and said, "He says he thinks he can be there in 15 minutes." That would have put the appointment at 12:45, at the earliest, 45 minutes late, and just before I have to go back to work. I told them not to bother coming out; just cancel the appointment. We know we have some expensive work to be done with a sprinkler system; I explained that when I set up the initial appointment, but I'm not about to work with a company that can't even show enough respect to show up, keep their appointments, or call if they're running late. Not for me.

 + -1 morePurchased irrigation system evaluation through Angie's List ($49) as I was already having a problem with water leaking from a valve. When the technician came out he said he could only look at my system but not fix anything as he only was scheduled to do an evaluation. I don't think I would have purchased through Angie's List the "evaluation" if I knew that it ment he couldn't fix the problem when he found it. When I scheduled the appointment I had told them I needed work done. The technician told me that the scheduler didn't always understand how much time to schedule for what work needed to be done. I was upset as I hadn't been able to run my sprinklers for a week already and now I would need to wait another week for him to come back to fix my initial problem. He came back a week later, found the valve problem, dug it up and made the correct repairs. He did a great job. I only regret that it took 2 weeks to get something that took a couple hours taken care of.
