They were very friendly, very prompt, good communication and really listened.

It was a very good experience. They showed us pictures of their designs and work. Even though it was expensive, I am looking at a cheaper plan. They came out about three months ago. They were very professional, experienced and they are high end designers. I liked them. I thought that they gave us our monies worth.

Dana showed up right on time. I found her to be very pleasant, professional and easy to talk to. We discussed ideas for a kitchen remodel. She was receptive to my ideas and had some very creative suggestions of her own. I felt we were both on the same page as to what could be done with my tiny kitchen. I appreciate that she did not sugar coat the issues that might develop with an old house remodel and that she took those potential hurdles in to consideration when mentioning a ball park figure as to the cost of what was involved. In the end, I decided that the remodel I had in mind was really an over-improvement considering my house and neighborhood so we did not proceed with the work. I am confident that had we decided to go ahead with the remodel, the end result would have been a really great kitchen/dining room.

She also brings a grounded and realistic understanding of assessing your needs and desires into an executable project with realistic timelines and truly functional living space. Her ability to add the custom touches and access to custom work is very helpful and enables you to have a finished, beautiful and functional living space. It was fine. She was very cordial and she had some good ideas. We had not used her but we were satisfied with her ideas and what she provided us. She answered everything that we asked her. She also made some very good suggestions.

Dana has some very good ideas. I had pretty much decided exactly what I wanted to do, but she was able to give me a couple ideas that I had not considered. She quoted me a ball-park of approximately double what I was budgeting. We discussed it further and she indicated that the update could probably be done within my budget with wainscoting rather than tile for the tub surround and without changing the floor. In order to do a quote I would need to pay $1,100.00 which would include shopping with her for the tile for the shower. $550 of that amount would be applied to the project if I then went ahead. I was surprised at the figure she quoted me and unwilling to pay for a quote when I would not be able to do all the updates I wanted, so did a little online shopping, constructed a spreadsheet which supported my original budget, forwarded it to her and asked that she take a look at my estimate. She quickly responded with a long email explaining the reasons for using local vendors, etc. but stood by her original very rough estimate. I did not proceed with purchasing the quote from Dana. The bathroom update is under way. I purchased all my materials from local vendors, am using a licensed plumber and electrician and a contractor who just completed a bathroom remodel for a friend. I am able to do all the work I had originally requested, including the changing the floor and using tile for the tub surround, and added painting, crown molding, refinishing the existing vanity, replacing wall caps, using mid to high level finishes for my original budget.

We have in the past hired designers for brief consultations (60-90 min., paid their hourly rate) for our previous properties, and they helped us by sharing their ideas about different layouts, material, contacts for various shops and contractors, colors, and designs. We expected similar from Dana, but it was different. Dana was a nice person and we had a pleasant conversation. But the consultation session was more like a sales pitch: after a tour of the property, she explained what could be done by hiring her, which includes putting in touch with a contractor, and getting deals with cabinets and other material. We know that she meant well: she did keep asking us what we wanted to hear from her, and she tried to give an answer. She nodded at some of our design ideas and pitched in some of hers too. But overall, because she sells material herself and keeps people who work for her, she was reluctant to share her ideas or give names and phone numbers. It's a different business model, and there's nothing wrong with it, of course, but I wished I known that before the meeting. After about an hour, when it became obvious that we were not going to hire her or a general contractor who works for her, the rest was filled with how our budget was too small for our project. I felt sorry that she kept asking for more questions to fill the 2 hour slot. I wish Dana well, but I would have enjoyed our meeting better if I could get real help from her.

Too hard to schedule an appointment. Our review only has to do with this and nothing more.

It took several weeks to get an appointment with Dana. Dana was on time for her appointment with me. She spent about an hour here. We discussed my plans for my lower level. She did give me some other ideas for the area. Most of the time was spent discussing what she could do for me and a beginning price. She left me nothing...not a business card or brochure. I was not comfortable with her. I was nervous because she has issues with pet allergies and I have a dog. The tentative price she quoted me for her services was way out of my comfort zone and price range. This was the first Angie's Deal I had purchase. I purchased another one, a construction bid for the same area. That one was a better experience and I was left with something for my money. I will also admit that I have discussed none of these concerns with Dana,

Dana arranged to meet along with her trusted contractor. I admitted I was totally undecided with how I wanted to go with my tiny galley kitchen redesign; whether expensive full remodel or just updating. Weeks prior to our appointment she asked me to look through designs on the free Houzz app in order to give her an idea of what I liked and not if terms of looks and materials and aesthetics. In person She was very experienced in asking inductive questions to get me to narrow down to what I wanted. With the contractor present I was finally able to ask questions about moving walls, ducting and plumbing limitations and went for exploring the possibilities of a full on remodel. She gave me several options with a very clear discussion and description of each. Although I did not go with her ideas (still contemplating what to do) I was very happy to finally have answers to everything I wondered about fully remodeling my kitchen in regards to cost/return and feasibility. She clearly outlined her fees and expectations I should have using her and the contractor. I am happy to finally have a great helpful designer on my list and plan on using Dana's design if I ever need full design planning.

It was very nice. He had a huge response to that so it took awhile to get an appointment but it was nice. He was very prompt and professional. He listened to what my needs were and made suggestions based on that. After the conversation and measurement, he sat down and talked about the process. The next step cost $1700 and that was to start the actual plan. I never got any drawing; it was helpful to have the conversation but I was assuming that I will get something on paper without paying $1700. I thought it was something high to go to the next step.

It went well. However, after considering the total costs my wife and I are going to hold off for the time being. We would also prefer to work with someone closer to us even though Dana was very willing to travel from Missouri to Illinois.

It went very well. Dana was prompt and courteous, she took my ideas into consideration and offered other alternatives and suggestions as well. She provided new insights into different design elements and kept me engaged in the process. She was thorough and knowledgeable. She brought one of her preferred contractors who also helped with the process. I received an estimate for the entire project and am happy up to this point, just deciding if we are ready to go forward based on some other factors. If we do choose to move forward I know that I would be confident using Dana.

She asked for my budget, and I told her it was $15,000. As to the details, she said she would install a glass top stove, I said my daughter had one and I did not want one. She said she would remove the soffit over the North wall. I protested, the contractor chimed in and said I requested the soffit remain and ceiling molding be installed and again at the top of the cabinets. I did request new cabinets. I did want a back splash, she suggested subway tile which I approved. There was a lot of measuring and soft spoken prices to the contractor, I could not hear any details. About two hours into this I asked for a chance to sit down. I did not see any plan or measurements, felt as though she had an idea in her head and what I said did not matter. I was glad when she left. The contractor was very nice, he stopped to shake on hand upon leaving as she bolted out the front door. Upon seeing his departure she came back and bid me good-by. The whole procedure left me exhausted and thinking why I was even present. Your question "were services performed by the Provider?" She came, she left, beyond that I cannot say. She was late, but did call and say she would be late. The contractor came on time, and I told him some of my ideas.

It has gone very well. We are still in the planning stage, but have really enjoyed working with Dana and all her knowledge on design. We have picked out appliances, design, backsplash, flooring, and countertop. We are very excited to keep working with Dana's Design. She is great

The offer states it is for "Up to two hour on-site consultation with award winning interior designer." We just needed color scheme help for our home. The text stated that Dana would brainstorm with us on multiple designs, general carpentry solutions and offer ideas for annoying design dilemmas. It said she would share options and probable costs to help plan and budget. When I spoke with her on the phone, she said she was not offering that type of service and perhaps the Angie's List blurb was not written correctly. Her service would be closer to $200.00 for two hours of consultation. I'm not at all sure what she was offering.

Dana and Gene listened to our thoughts about what we wanted to do with the space and they offered up some suggestions and other things to consider as we contemplate a kitchen remodel. My husband and I thought the time was well spent so we could better understand the type of budget we'd need as well as some realistic expectations on timing, and the additional services that Dana and Gene could offer. We're not quite ready to pull the trigger on the remodel, but are highly considering using Dana and Gene.

It turned out very well. Dana responded immediately but we set up an appointment a couple of weeks later to use the coupon. I just paid the price of the big deal for that particular visit and then she gave me her quote and things like that. So, when she already does the work, there would be other charges involved. The price for the service was high but the quality of her work was good.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was good. I think her attention was to help with the whole process but I already had a contractor all lined up. She made some really good suggestions so it was a helpful experience. The price was appropriate for the consultation. She had advice for all my concerns. She came on time for the appointment. She was very knowledgeable. I would definitely consider using her again.

In this case we did not use Dana on this project ONLY due to the fact the original contractor who was also the original owner of our home became available at the last minute to do the work. Otherwise, we would have gone with Dana.
