It didnt go. They didn't show up and then acted like I did something wrong. They wanted not only confirmation twice! But also a response to a random text from there tech saying Hi this is Billy from Able.

John came over and troubleshot our refrigerator, identified the problem, and drove down to Lenexa to get the part. He came back and had the refrigerator working in about 20 mins. A tremendous professional. Thanks for coming out and fixing our refrigerator. Able is the only appliance repair service we use.

I had my dryer heating element replaced about 3 weeks ago. It quit heating yesterday. I decided to check it out myself. I got on YouTube and watched a couple of videos. It was fairly easy to take apart since the technician had not replaced about half of the screws . I found them under the tumbler. The problem turned out to be a burnt connection that had not been put on tight and had arced. The tech Matt was not obviously very proficient in the trade. This was our second time using Able. First time was excellent. There won’t be a next time. We basically got screwed out of $228.00

ASK TO SEE A COST BREAKDOWN BEFORE YOU AGREE TO THE REPAIR!!! We had our ice maker replaced and was told the cost was $350. After the repair (which took 15min) we paid $395 ($305 + Tax). With that said, I looked up the part once the technician was gone and it cost $130. I called the Able Office number and was told that each call is a minimum of $228!!! Conclusion...I paid close to $400 for a part worth $130 and 15 min worth of work. Price is crazy high with no communication on cost. Will not be using them again.

No long wait time to get an appointment and professional and efficient service! The technician knew right away where the problem was - he removed a lot of built-up ice and replaced the heater element in our freezer in less than half an hour. We will definitely call them again if we have an appliance problem!

Called Able to work on our Samsung electric dryer. John was prompt and efficient in getting the repair completed. He took the time to explain what was wrong and make the repair quickly. John also showed the concern for our overall safety and took additional time to vacuum the inside of the dryer to help limit fire potential. Will most definitely be using this company in the future for those pesky appliance issues.

John, the serviceman, arrived on time and was very professional and courteous. He quickly diagnosed the problem with our 3 year old LG refrigerator and provided us with valuable information regarding the necessary repairs, cost, and provided a timetable for completing the repairs. We reached out to LG to see if they would honor the warranty and cover the cost if he completed the repairs. LG would not coordinate. John was very personable and answered all of our questions. I would recommend him as a service tech and Able Appliance Repair without hesitation.

6/3/20: Called Able Appliance. Without coming out to evaluate, James Neal decided it needed a new heating element. He said he would order from St. Louis - overnight - and it should be here by Thursday 6/4 or Friday 6/5. I assumed I would hear from him by Friday 6/5, and he would come out to install. I didn't hear, so I called Friday 6/5, and he gave me a vague answer. I asked that he let me know as soon as he could, and he said he would. As of 6/12, I still have not heard from him. In the meantime, I got another company to come out 6/11, within a day of my call. The problem was not the heating element, but a different issue. They brought the part the next day, and fixed it.

I had to take off two days of work trying to accommodate their schedule. They never showed up when they said they would. Misdiagnosed the problem. Came with the WRONG part THREE times. They would not provide an itemized statement of the repair work which left our refrigerator with no digital temperature and a fan that was so loud you couldn't even hear in our kitchen. We said we weren't paying until the owner called us. The repairman threatened to tear open our fridge and refused to leave until we paid him. We told him to leave our home or we would call the police. We stopped payment on our check to get the owner to call us and all they wanted to do was blame the parts supplier when their repairman admitted to us he ordered the wrong part. This company is NOT reputable. I would categorize them in the scam category. We had to call another repair company to fix the problems.

This company hires private contractors who show up in their personal vehicle and street clothes. They will diagnose the problem then do some checking on parts prices then give you a grand total on what it will cost to fix it, not itemized so you do not know how much is parts and how much is labor. In our case it was $753 to repair a refrigerator with two parts, I agreed to the repair and then found out the parts were only $350 and replacing them both a 20 minute job. The diagnosis time took maybe 20 minutes as well, so $400 for labor for a total of 40 minutes of work plus two trips out is a ridiculous amount of money.

Technicians were ok but their scheduling is a joke. I sat home the entire day and they finally showed up at 5:30 PM. There are too many other good choices to put up with that.

Horrible! Jake did the work- cost over $1000 and 2 weeks later, the ice maker failed again. It took multiple calls and weeks of waiting to get him back to replace the ice maker again. He was supposed to be here this morning- I called at 10 to make sure he hadn’t forgotten and told them I was sitting here waiting. Still waiting!! Now they tell me he went to another call because I was in the yard and didn’t pick up the phone. Very unprofessional people!

Not sure why we had so much difficulty because this vendor gets good reviews but in fairness to site users felt like we had to provide the facts. Tech was very courteous. The rating is based on our single experience with this company. Tech came out 5 times over multiple days. First time he stated the problem (said it was the only thing it could be) but he did not have the part so had to schedule another visit a few days later. Second visit he put in a new part and tested it. We paid $260 which was the top I was willing to pay since the appliance was about 6 years old. Unfortunately the appliance still did not work when we tried to use it. The third time he came out he asked me what the problem was (even though I had already told the office it was the same problem so unfortunately this was a wasted visit and time off work). Tech said it must be a defective part and would need to order a new one. Again said it was the only thing it could be. On his fourth trip he put in the new part. It worked for about a week and a half. The fifth time he came out he brought the office manager who helped him look at it. They thought it was another issue so the they left to get the part and do another job. The tech came back a couple of hours later with the part and tried it but it did not fix the problem. The tech said he would have the supervisor call me in the next hour or so. We did not get a call. The next day we called and they kind of blamed each other for not calling. At least in the end, they did offer to give a refund for all except the service call of $60 and someone did call to tell us the refund had been processed. There were a couple of frustrating things. First, I had to take several afternoons off work because they were not able to diagnose the problem accurately. They give you a 5 hour window so you are kind of stuck just waiting around, in this case a lot!! I understand diagnosis on appliances can be tricky but 5 times seems a little excessive. I asked for another tech several times to see if someone new could diagnose the problem better but for some reason they were not willing to do that. Finally, they did not call us back so we had to follow up and they were somewhat less than friendly at that point. As I said earlier the company gets overall good reviews (which is why we chose them) so maybe this was just a random problem for them.

I waited awhile for my "afternoon" appointment. When I called to check, it sounded as though I had been forgotten? When pressed, I was told afternoon meant from 12:00-4:00. The repairman arrived shortly after 5:00. He turned on the dryer and said, "that doesn't sound good". He then went on to say if he took it apart it would be $148, and that included the $10 off for being an Angie's List member. Turns out there was a foreign object stuck in the turning mechanism. Took him less than 10 minutes to fix. He was polite, professional, & didn't leave a mess. In my next life I'm coming back as an appliance repairman.

Very fast call back (about 3 minutes from the time i clicked submit on Angies List). Got an appointment on next business day (Monday - I called on Saturday), The tech diagnosed the issue (burned out circuit board) within 15 minutes of being there. Looked up a replacement part, we discussed the pros and cons of fixing this particular model of washing machine. I approved the fix and he ordered the part. It was installed the next day and the washing machine has worked fine ever since. Very knowledgeable tech. He had also done some HVAC work in his past and we talked about an HVAC issue I was having too - wasn't required for him to do this, but he did. I will use these guys again if needed.

Both repairmen involved were very experienced and did a great job on the repairs. We have had no problems since then with either appliance. Considering the extensive dishwasher repair, the total cost was very reasonable.
