"Thank you for your business and for your kind words. We are glad we were able to help."
"Thank you for the review. We are glad you were pleased with our technician. ALL OUT Wildlife Control can get your bats ALL OUT, and we look forward to assisting you with this issue."
"We are sorry you were unhappy. Dave explains to all customers, and it is written in our contract, that we cannot guarantee we can catch the animal that concerns you. The reason for this is the mobility and intelligence of animals. For example, the raccoon in your chimney might leave the chimney and be hit by a car and killed. It is also possible to encounter an animal that knows not to enter a trap, even for food. The reason we charge for a non-target catch is to cover the time and bait for the technician to remove the animal, re-bait the trap, and relocate the animal to a spot far enough away so that it cannot return to your home. This is also stated at the top of the contract next to the price for the target animal. I reviewed your contract and this is stated. Dave made at least one additional trip to your home to re-bait and check the traps. Clearly he put in the expected effort to catch the raccoon. We always prefer to catch the animal that is causing an issue for our customer and are usually successful. If we are not, there are multiple reasons this could be. The raccoon may have been disturbed by the movement or be "trap-shy" (i.e., it has previously been caught in a trap and therefore knows to avoid them) and moved away from your home. I hope that is the case. Please accept our apologies for the late response. We have had an issue with our Angie's List notifications which we believe has been resolved."

We discussed his findings and he explained his recommendations clearly. He wrote up a 'wildlife entry survey' form that included a diagram of my home, areas that needed attention and a bid for the cost of the proposed work.
The recommended procedures for bat removal and exclusion cannot be done at this time of year, but can be started in the spring. We were quite happy with the information that Dave provided, the reasonable bid for the proposed work and the excellent reviews All Out Wildlife Control, LLC has received on Angie's list, so we scheduled to have the work done next spring when the time is appropriate.
The cost of service that I listed above is the cost of the inspection and evaluation only, because that is the only work we've had done so far. The fee for the inspection will be applied toward the over-all cost of the project.
"Thank you very much! We are looking forward to removing your bats in the spring."

"Thank you for choosing ALL OUT Wildlife Control, LLC. We were pleased to service your home and are glad you were satisfied! We pride ourselves on our professional quality work and on treating your home as though it were our own."
We hired this company to seal up our house from bats, squirrels, and raccoons, and to
exclude two nests of bats that were living in our roof. The service included
adding wire screening under all the eaves of the roof. We paid an extra $280 to
install heavy duty screening to keep out squirrels and raccoons, not just bats.
We paid a total of $2,245. The service came with a 3 year warranty.
Dave did get rid of the bats. But within a week of finishing the job, a family of squirrels
moved into the screened area behind the garage. I got up there on a ladder to
inspect the nest. There was a 4” gap in the screening. This was a workmanship
problem and the screening job was not completed properly. This was a perfect
entry point for squirrels to move in. They just walked right in without doing
any chewing.
To make matters worse, Dave did not install any screening at all on the west side of
the house, where there is an old squirrel hole. When I signed the contract, I
had marked the areas needing screening, including the west side of the house.
When I told Dave about the squirrels, he said he could remove the squirrels for $229 plus $85
for each squirrel after the first. That would have cost us an additional $500
or more. Since the squirrels moved in because of his workmanship error (the
nest sits on the screening material) we thought Dave should take care of the squirrels
and patch the gap as part of the original contract and warranty.
I wrote Dave a letter describing the problem and sent him photos. I asked him to come by and
see for himself. He never came by. He replied that he will not do any more
future work on our house because we have lots of trees, a bird feeder, and a
pond which attract squirrels. I emailed asking him about the 3 year warranty in
case the bats return (which was clearly stated in our contract). He never
replied.
We were left with a family of squirrels over the garage, a gap in the screening that needs to
be patched, the task of installing
screening on the west side of the house, and no warranty in case of the return
of bats. For the $2,245 we paid them, we expected much better service.
"We did not receive an email notification of this review and happened to see it on 12/22. We apologize for the delay in responding and appreciate Angie's List allowing us this opportunity. Customer contracted with us over the summer to remove bats. Our contract was signed and Customer was given a copy of the contract and a diagram detailing the work to be performed. Also on the contract, we agreed to reinforce with ½” hardware cloth the areas we would already be bat-proofing, which was clearly shown on the diagram and described in writing on both the contract and the entry survey. Customer initialed this additional clause, indicating his approval. We did not offer at any time to screen all the eaves of the house. No warranty against squirrel or raccoon entry was discussed or mentioned in the contract. At no time did ALL OUT suggest or promise that our bat-proofing would also be squirrel or raccoon-proof; to the contrary, we informed Customer in several conversations and email exchanges of the likelihood of larger animals entering due to several features of his house and yard. We have never, and would never, attempt to squirrel or raccoon-proof a structure without first being 100% sure that any of those species using the building have been removed. This is not feasible during summer and this was also explained to Customer. From the beginning of our contract, Customer seemed to misunderstand several of the agreements made; to wit, payment terms (which are clearly shown on the contract), materials used (he wanted us to use his hardware cloth, which was not up to our standards), use of his ladder (also not up to our standards, and likely not permitted by our insurance), and work completion schedule (an expected start date was met; subsequent work was performed in as timely a manner as possible. Customer seemed to believe that a strict schedule would be followed, which is often not possible in professional wildlife control). This was a very demanding job, including working on a 40’ ladder on the hottest day of the year. As with every customer, we took pains to ensure that work was done correctly and thoroughly, not necessarily quickly. Our office telephoned Customer on the day before his final payment was to become overdue to remind him of the due date. The terms were listed on the invoice and the contract, including a clause that there will be no warranty work performed on overdue accounts. Customer mailed his payment several days after the overdue date and that is the only reason he does not have a warranty on his bat work. We have performed wildlife control services for almost 19 years and the overwhelmingly vast majority of customers have been pleased with our work, based on surveys, personal referrals, and Angie’s List reviews. We have an A- rating with the Better Business Bureau as well. Typically if a customer is unhappy with our work, that customer has neglected to read or adhere to our contract. We make it a point to go over the contract with our customers very thoroughly, which we did in this case. We are sorry Customer is disappointed, but the work was performed in accordance with our written contract."
"Thank you. We appreciate your business and your kind words. Woodpeckers can be both damaging and annoying to homeowners and we are glad to have solved your problem."
I later discovered that the entry point was through a soffit vent that had been removed by a squirrel. Dave missed this completely. I also found out that the screen over the roof vent was intact, and did not truly need to be replaced. I had the gutter cleaning company put in some new heavy gauge wire that I purchased at home depot to make sure that no animals entered through there in the future anyway. They were kind enough to do this for free, during gutter cleaning. (M & P window washing and gutter cleaning, an angies list member).
Dave offered to come out and check and replace the mouse traps in the future, at additional cost. I told him that I could check mouse traps and replace them myself, thank you.
I was dissapointed in the quality of work that Dave provided as well as the cost.
"We appreciate Angie’s List allowing us to clarify our services. We performed services for the customer over 7 weeks ago. In this time he has not contacted us with any concerns. The very large house suffered from long lack of maintenance and a mouse infestation. As I was doing the inspection, I brought several problems to his attention and suggested services and prices to solve them (entry closure, tree trimming, entry prevention at vulnerable spots). His response was that he would have someone else do the work. I described a poorly-built roof overlap area that should be squirrel-proofed. I showed him the material and the work after completing it, with screws and not nails as he attests. This work comes with a five-year warranty against re-entry, which is one of the best warranties in the business. In 17 years as a wildlife professional, I have never been asked by a customer for photographic proof that I had actually done the work I just showed him. Nevertheless, if he asked for a photo, I would have gladly provided several. Mice were evident throughout the attic and in the basement and sun porch. My interior and exterior inspection revealed no evidence of squirrel infestation (which certainly could have changed in the 7 weeks’ time since our service was performed). He admitted to having a chronic mouse problem. I clearly informed him that I would put mouse bait out, NOT traps. A great deal of highly-effective, professional mouse bait was used. One trap was placed, and its function shown to the customer. At his request, and at no additional charge, I inspected the large detached garage and found strong evidence of squirrel infestation. I quoted a price for professional, warrantied exclusion of two roof vents. This type of roof vent is extremely vulnerable to animal entry, and entry is very commonly made without actual damage to the screen. Our price reflects the quality of our materials and workmanship as well as our knowledge and experience, and is competitive with industry standards. Because of our knowledge and experience, we do the job correctly and do not create further problems. Most inexperienced people do not understand the complexity of the situation. The gutter cleaners more than likely placed a screen on the inside of the roof, which creates a prime nesting environment for wildlife, therefore making a problem that did not previously exist. Additionally, the hardware cloth available at Home Depot is too lightweight and does not meet our professional standards. I spent over three hours with this customer, providing quality service that is available only from a qualified Wildlife Control Operator. To quote a colleague, “Quality work isn't cheap, and cheap work isn't quality.” Do-it-yourself wildlife exclusion and removal is comparable to do-it-yourself transmission repair—it is cheaper in the short run, but it will not meet the standards of a certified automotive professional. Consumers go to Angie’s List to find quality services, not cheap services. As evidenced by the other, excellent reviews earned by ALL OUT Wildlife Control, our professional services have made many, many customers happy."
